Chay stumbles on deck:
Captain did you know the ship is taking on... What the!!!!

If Foxy wants to get other involved in the fight:

Chay Lifts up his hand and yells:
Great now we are fighting the storm itself!!!

Then magic missles streak from his hand into the thing.
Magic Missle: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 4, 2) + 3 = 10

Chay come out flipping through his book.

Captain, Let me help fix the ship...
He twists his ring, flips though this book and casts Make Whole to fix the ship so seal on of the breaches so even less water is comming in.

Uses Arcane Focus to cast spell from his book

Chay looks up from his work trying to determine how to perminately enchant a ballista.

Be gone you pesky imp! And he swats at the spirit with mage hand

I Sir am no one’s pet. I am a fully functional part of this crew!

Nope... I can't cast 5th level spells yet. Only 3rd.
And you need major creation for feather tokens.

Chay happily looks at the at the spell book flipping through it to see what else he can add to his spell book.

Captain, can I have this? as well as the wand and scrolls we found?

Really.... I never knew that.

Hmmm in that case the archon would have just flown and double moved considering it can move 120' on a double move there's plenty of distance for that....

The air elemental flies after the mage and slams into her again.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Air Elemental Round 2/5

Then the Lantern Archon fires a beam at the mage and then zips off ahead of her.

Light Ray (touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Archon round 4/5 and fly 60' so now 10' ahead of her.

Chat finishes his spell and an air elemental appears.

Chay points and the elemental zooms off after the Mage.
It flys 100 feet After the Mage and slams into it.

Slam: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Then the lantern archon teleports and appears 30 feet in front of the Mage.

Chay swims back near the boat and watches what happens with his handwork.

Chay starts to chant another spell. from a distance away.

Starts to Cast Summon Monster II

Meanwhile the Lantern archon tries to hit the flying mage again.
Light Ray (touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage (ignores DR): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Crit Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Light Ray (touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage (ignores DR): 1d6 ⇒ 1

Note: did any of the enimies make a will save DC 13 vs the archon's Aura of Menace? I didn't see it.

Chay finishes his spell and a ball of light appears
Summon Lantern Archon Round 1/5 HP 17 AC 15

It appears about 15 feet away from the boat and immediatly fires two rays of light at the Flying Half-orc
Light Ray (touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage (ignores DR): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Light Ray (touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage (ignores DR): 1d6 ⇒ 6

(All Enemies in 20 feet must also make a Will 13 save vs it's Aura of menace or take - 2 to attacks, AC, and saves for 24 hours or until they successfully hit the archon)

Then as he finishes casting, Chay Raises his hand and fires off a series of magic missiles against the flying mage.
Magic Missle Damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 1, 4) + 3 = 10

Then he swims back 30 feet away from the fight.

Chay surfaces well outside the cloud and begins to cast a spell.
Casts Summon Monster III

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Well Crap. I can’t stay here!

He casts a spell on himself giving him webbed hand and feat and dives over the edge of the boat... then he swims out of the cloud.

Cast touch of the sea. Then swim 30 feet out of the cloud. And managing to maintain the illusion.

Chay brings the ship around the corner and seeing the merchant ship appear ahead of him again points at the ship.

As the other row closer, Chay makes the illusion of the pirate ship getting ready to give chase.

Softly says so only the others can hear
Be alert they have to be watching from somewhere around here.

Foxy:

Will to see past the illusion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

As the boat nears the reef he suddenly points closer to the shore.
There! he hisses

Are we all set then?

Advansalan, Ramsansm, Istuban....

As Noonan and Estelle bring the boat around, The sounds of Lines being pulled taunt by the wind, and crew members calling to each other seems to rise around them.

Before the boat has gone 100 yards, a swirl of color appears and suddenly a smaller version of the Thresher appears around the boat hiding it from view.

As the boat rows around the island, Chay sits an isle of calm in the middle of the mass of rowing crew, focused on the illusion trying to make it seem as real as possible.

Now we see what is reefing those ships. he whispers to the captain.

Oh... just saw this... Hang on then. Post incoming.

Oh.... I guess we could do that...

Chay blushes embarrassed that something so simple got past him.

Then he gets ready to get in the boat and makes ready to make an illusion of a ship around the small boat.

Chay thinks.

Not the Kracken, but one of the launches: Hmmmm... If you are willing to wait a day, yes. I could make the boat invisible and then make all of us invisible. But it would only last for about 5 minutes. And I doubt I could renew it while also making an illusory ship.

Thinking invisiblity on the boat and invisiblity sphere on the crew around him.

Captain, I only have my normal load of spells today, so I can make two people swim and one breath under water, I can also make someone invisible.

Flying would be a good idea but I'd have to wait until tomorrow to do that because I didn't memorize it. However I can make myself swim like you so I can get close and cast the spell.

So pick who you want to come and I'll cast my spells on them.

Casts: touch of the sea (x2), Invisibility, Water Breathing, and Alter Self.

I can easily expand, but core gives us lots of options without going crazy. But you want to give me the parameters I'll work with that.
Core + Ultimates?

I'm assuming that we are going with the book of infinite spells thing so Chay has all the utility wizard spells in the core rulebook.

Does that work?

If that's the case.... Then to get them we need to lure them out.

Want me to try an illusion captain?
I could make an illusion of the Thrasher being stuck on the rocks if we want to hang back a little.

If there is interest he will twist his ring and prepare to cast Major illusion showing the Thresher sailing up and getting stuck on the reef when they sail around again and the illusion happens again.

Right! Mr Flipps you never answered me...

While he waits for an answe about needing a magic Balista, Chay casts Grease on the gangplank to keep the mad Half Orc from boarding DC 16

Chay comes on deck and looks around.
Is that ugly sucker threating my boat?!

He steps on next to the Flips in the cloud and launches off as series of missles against the giant.

Magic Misdle: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 2) + 3 = 10

Do you want a magic Balista? He asks as the missles smack into the giant.

You mean a blessed book?

That would make some mighty fine TP.

Besmara:

Sorry Captain, I can't come up with a way to really change you to a boy for a reasonable price right now. I can change myself that way, but short of a scroll of polymorph, which I can't cast, there is no way I know to change someone else.

Now Ive heard rumors of a magic tattoo called the shy maiden that does something like this for men, but I don't know how to make magic tattoos. Maybe you can ask around about a magic tattoo in the next poet we land at.

You know I don't have shrink item... I'll pick up the scroll in the city to make the text work.

So many utility spells Chay wants...

Hmmm. Oh Captain?. Chay says sitting up in his hammock.

He looks at her knives.
Ya, I can enchant those. Basic enchantment to make them hit more and harder, ill need supplies worth 1000 gold. To make them hit humans hardest... I know a way to do that but it's going to cost another 3000 gold after the base enchantment. And that's per dagger or sword.

Besmara:

Foxy do you allow hats of greater disguise? That's the cheapest way I know to do this long term right now. I assume a robe of blending would not be what you are looking for, and scrolls if polymorph are too high level to writecurrently.
Do you want to just look like the other sex or actually be the other sex? Just looking like a boy is easy. I could create a reusable item that does that for a few hundred gold.

And don't forget Chay can craft most magic items for you...

He can take requests for any:
Potions
Weapons
Armor
Scrolls
Wonderous items

He just may need to learn a new spell or two for odd powers.
So if you want something ask away.

No wands or constructs yet :)

Chay comes up looking like he was roused out of bed.

What did you....

He trails off as he sees the items layer out before him.

Oh. New toys! Wine! Wine!. When he gets a cup of wine he twists his ring and pulls out one of pucks feathers to stir the wine with. Then he drinks it down and looks at the items.
Arcane focus cast Identify
Spellcraft (chest) + Identify: 1d20 + 11 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 10 = 23
Spellcraft (figurehead) + Identify: 1d20 + 11 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 10 = 30

The chest is powerful magic... but I'm too tired to figure out what it does. Let me sleep and I can try again.
The figurehead though. It's called Besmara's bones and it does two things if we mount it on the Kracken. First it can give the captain some extra magic health for a short period each day.
Second it casts a powerful curse on one ship we ram each day. Forever after the ship sails worse and always will lose if it tries to escape or chase another ship. Sounds fun to do to those demonist warships.

He yawns loudly:
Now if you don't mind, I'm going back to sleep

He heads back to the officers quarters to sleep.

OK, Level 5 Chay now up and ready to serve the crew.
He's got two Water Breathing spells memorized. (each lasts 10 hours divisible any way they want.)
4 touch of the seas (Each lasts 5 minutes)
He also has a continual Flame Memorized, so you all can see underwater and invisibility if anyone wants that for the initial scouting.

In addition, in the 17 hours (or so) Since the fight, he has brewed four touch of the sea potions for the crew to take with them.

Also He is in effect a full service magic shop for this crew now.
He can:
Scribe Scrolls
Brew Potions
Craft Wondrous Items
Craft Magic Arms & Armor.

So in the future start putting in your orders :)
There you go GM Foxy, you have a built in story reason to keep us out of port and still have a way to hand over the magic items you want.

Thank you Sir. I have a lot of work to do tonight.

Chay heads back down to his workshop and noises are heard late into the night.

The next morning a very hagard looking Chay comes on deck and knocks hesitantly on the Captain's door.

As soon as she answers he says:
Captain, It took me all night but I think I figured it out. I've got a couple magic spells that will give you 20 hours of the ability to breath water. You can split those hours up across as many people as you want. So 20 people for one hour, or 4 people for 5 hours each.

In addition, I can make 4 people swim like a fish for the first few minutes. After that you are going to have to swim normally. I just couldn't come up with anything else to help you here. But, I did manage to figure out a trick to bottle a short version of the swimming spell.
He pulls out four sealed flasks with sea green liquid inside.
I had to borrow some money from Mr. Lito to make these, but I think you will appreciate this. It will only last a minute or so, but whoever goes down there can take this with them and drink this when they really need it.

Oh, and I think I figured out the trick to making your daggers hit harder and more often. But I'm too tired to do that now. It will take significant gold to enchant them, but if you give me a couple days and the right materials, I can make them work better for you.

I think that's what you wanted right?
He seems a little nervous given the reaction she had yesterday.

Sir, the Captain asked me to get people ready for an underwater assult on the Sahaguin cave. I think I figured out a way to make potions for you all to swim faster, can I borrow a bit of money to get that set up tonight?

So should I actually level Chay up to 5?

Captain, my bubble spell only lasts for a few minutes. I can cast it on a number of people, but if you really want to spend some serious time underwater you need some magic I can't yet cast. There's a spell called water breathing that exists on a scroll. I'm pretty sure I could cast it off a scroll on you, it could give people hours of time that they could breath water just like a Gillman. That scroll would cost like 400 gold to buy and could be split between a number of people. Mr. Lito could probably even get this for a better price given how well he negotiates.

I assume the adventure assumes that one of your 6th level spell casters can cast water breathing? I don't see any other way that this dungeon would be tackable unless there is a bunch of air pockets someplace.

Yes Captain, what's the plan for tomorrow? I want to make sure I am ready for whatever you need.

GM Foxy, just so you know Chay has Augment summoning, so his elemental is stronger. That's why he is +7 to hit and +6 to Damage.

With no other enimies the water itself smashes into the shark and then the elemental disappears.
Slam: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9

The water itself continues to protect the ship together with the Captain by beating up on the same Sahagin

Water Elemental slam + Water Mastery: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27
Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9

Summon Round 2/4

Chay casts touch of the sea on Besmara.
Go captain! I'll hold the wheel for Sandara!

Chay leans over and casts Air Bubble on his captain.

If you wait a second, I can make you swim fast too.

Next round I could cast Touch of the Sea if you wanted it

Did my elemental hit?

Chay finishes his spell and suddenly the water itself starts to attack one of the remaining sharks.

Summon small water elemental. AC 17, HP 17 round 1/4

Slam + Water Mastery: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9

Captain, The bows don't seem to be doing anything. Get someone to make them flaming arrows and burn all this vines. I bet it would do better.

I'll try to help the Sailors.

Chay turns and starts chanting to summon help for the Sailors in the water.
Starts casting Summin Monster II

Eaten by a plant! Now that's something you dont see often.

Then he fires an arcane bolt from his hand at the creature.

Magic Missile at plant creature: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6

I thought Besmara just instructed the crew to shoot the Kracken Balista at the creature... amI wrong?

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Chay runs over to the nearest manned Balista and enchants it to be more accurate.
Casts Enchant siege engine

Chey stays on the Kracken.

No Flips, I can magic up one for a few minutes, But making them magical long term is beyound me right now.

He turns to talk to the others:

Who is going under water? I don't think it makes sense to be me as I can do more from up here.

For example, I can help you for a bit in combat with an elemental if we need that, or enchant one of the Krackens Balista if that is needed.

Captain, if you give me sn hour, I can create a illusion of a small ship entering the bay , while we stay outside near the mouth and see what happens.

I can only make 4 crew swim like a fish, and that will only last for a few minutes like the invisibility. And that's only tomorrow. Today I can only make one swim that way.
Give me a few weeks and a bunch of gold and I can write scrolls to make most of the crew swim fast but not now.

True.. he just needs money and there are so many good spells still to buy..:
