Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

I hate rolling hp D:

1d8 ⇒ 6

Above PFS average, I'll take it!

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric thanks the man for his compliments and hospitality. When the servant brings him the water he looks down at his bloody clothes again. "Oh, sorry! I can take care of most of that." He uses a quick Prestidigitation spell to remove the blood, although his shirt is still ripped. He accept the new clothing and changes into it, removing his armor to clean also.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, after accepting the longsword, follows Lih after Logan.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

While the arguments are occuring, Cedric walks over and drops off the rooftop, walking up to his companions and the captain. When they are asked if they have anything else to add, Cedric speaks up, hoping to prevent his companions from digging their holes any deeper.

"Only further apologies, ma'am. We aren't from around here, and certainly weren't trying to step on anyone's toes. I, and several of my friends here, have a difficult time standing by while a criminal runs right past us, I hope you understand the sentiment. You're right to be angry, of course, if everyone who thinks they saw a crime took matters into their own hands, there would never be peace and order. We all apologize for the mess, we hadn't intended it to be such a chase."

He glances at Markov

"And he's truly sorry about the bombs. We've had a harrowing past few days, and are all on edge. We'll be sure to stay out of trouble, none of us is interested in any more."

He looks down at the large amount of blood staining his clothes and armor and gives Captain Halmes a wry smile.

"I for one have certainly learned my lesson."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Perception to hear the conversation below: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

(I'm assuming they haven't seen Cedric, since he's sitting/lying down on the roof).

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric sits up, looks at the large amount of blood on his clothing and shirt, and almost falls back down. He looks up at Malaswyn with half a smile and half a grimace of pain. "Hey... Did I get her?"

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Constitution Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Uh oh...

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric will fire his shortbow at the fleeing woman.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric has one more trick up his sleeve, but he's not doing anything while the woman is close enough to attack him again. He makes sure to prevent her from retrieving her crossbow, though.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Red is asleep, blue is prone, as far as I can tell. No idea about the red/white checkerboard on Warren...

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, intending to chase down the fleeing thief (who had taken a bolt wound to the leg if I'm not mistaken), runs past the sleeping figures and leaps to the brown roof over the ~14 foot gap.

Long Jump Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

He sticks the jump, and continues chasing the woman.

Acrobatics for Brown Roof: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Moving nimbly, Cedric races across the brown roof towards his quarry.

He's now standing at U77, having used 60 ft. of movement (including the jump). If he's able to run he would be doing that, and would have caught up to the thief.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

I think the forum ate one of my posts :o My mistake on the roofs, I had thought that was grey for some reason. Cedric actually cast his spell and then ran and jumped onto the roof to the north. The earlier acrobatics check was good enough to make it across the gap, so he's standing at R88, having already cast his spell.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric yells down to Alma as he hears the paladin's voice. "Hey! Maybe we can take care of these guys shooting us before we start chatting them up? Just a suggestion!"

He runs towards the man who just fled from him, dashing across the slippery roof...

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

And tumbling to the tiles.

Cedric, now lying prone on the rooftop, casts Sleep on the two enemies to the north.
DC 14

At least it's harder to shoot me like this...

Cedric wasn't near the edge so I'm assuming he doesn't fall off the roof. I'm thinking he's prone somewhere between W85 and W89, sound about right?

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric lashes out with his longsword as the prone man rises to face him.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

It's a powerful swing, but goes over his head. Cedric manages to dodge the man's own attack, and follows after him as he moves towards the middle of the roof, slashing at him again.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

I'm not sure if the acrobatics was in place of the climb, or just to go faster/get to it, so in case it's needed:

Climb Check: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric will loose an arrow at the the thief Alma targeted if he doesn't drop to sleep. If he does, Cedric will dash towards the rope.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Hey all, I'm here too- my internet just got shut off for a bit, whole big hassle, fixed now X______X;

Thanks for the GMPC.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

As they enter the suburbs and move towards the city wall, Cedric will try to get some information on Grays, Morag, the wall they passed, and anything else. He chats up multiple people as they go, and whenever they stop he moves off to speak with passers by.

Diplomacy to Check for Information: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

I'm still here! Sorry, I just started a new job that runs late at night *and* early morning, so I'm getting used to that/getting exhausted.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric thinks on Markov's words for a moment. "I don't like the idea of being hunted, but you're right about our resources not being excellent... If we hadn't been on the hallowed ground I'm not sure we would have been as lucky this time around. I'm alright heading to Coran first, but I'm sick of waiting around doing nothing.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric is interested primarily in finding and dealing with Grays. If nobody else has other ideas he'll lead on to the farm (assuming we know how to find it).

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, who had been staring resolutely at the ground, quietly fuming at the magistrate's words, raises his head abruptly when the magistrate leaves. "The Duke. I remember something about a duke, from when we were poisoned... Someone was angry at the duke, or else the duke was angry, and there was something that needed to happen in five days... I can't help but feel that this is somehow connected to that damn merchant. Gah, I don't know..." He trails off, but then suddenly smiles. "Well! This is certainly more exciting than guard duty! I suggest we make haste and find Grays; I'd prefer not to live the rest of my life feeling hunted, I'd like to get to the bottom of all this. Does anyone else have ideas for our next moves?"

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric looks up from his sausage, swallowing a large mouthful in order to speak. "We're sorry for the trouble we've caused you, it was certainly not our intention for anyone to be in danger, and we won't put your family and community in harm's way any further." He looks around at his companions, hoping they agree with this sentiment, although he continues speaking regardless. "If anyone will be able to handle the lycanthropes it's us. While I don't cherish the thought of coming head-to-head with them again, we can handle ourselves." Provided we can deal with one another, he adds silently.

Cedric resumes eating, hoping others will speak so he can enjoy his meal.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, surprised at Irina's outburst, looks to Alma. "That was rather harsh, is there something I've not heard about between you two?"

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Sorry for the sparse posting, I've been away for the past few days, it's also around 4 am so I'm now going to sleep now, I'll post actions in the morrow.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

I agree with Markov, finding a full-price buyer for a fancy box in a town like this is probably better left to the herbalist :P Unless we went around waking up the town to sell things I don't see how we would have been able to buy anything anyways. Some adventurers put their friends above their gold!

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric shakes his head "It certainly isn't a good situation, but I don't know what else we can do... If she becomes a werewolf we would have little choice but to fight her anyways, at least here we have a measure of control over the situation." He frowns, trying to think of a third option.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Ninja'd stuff:
Cedric steps forward. "We are terribly sorry to bother you at this late hour, and we hope not to take much of your time. We are here on behalf of our friend, who was bitten by a lycanthrope. Kaym sent us here, we are in desperate need of your aid."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Never mind, Markov did it, we perhaps can still use the diplomacy.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Oh dear, if we end up evil Cedric is going to have a hell of a time when he realizes he's his father :D

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Although the law aspect of paladin is sometimes played as second to the good part, it's really pretty important. I don't think of a paladin as the kind of guy who would give any slack to a poor man who stole to feed his family, likewise they aren't necessarily merciful towards enemies, and certainly not towards creatures they see as abominations.

Everyone does the code of conduct thing differently, but for my part I haven't noticed Alma to be particularly non-paladiny in any way.

Of course, paladins falling is awesome, so go with whatever happens :D

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric tries to stay away from both the prisoner and the man dealing with the fallen wolves. Seeing Malaswyn heading down the road, he jogs to catch up.

"Those wolves were fearsome, but I didn't get the sense than any of the ones we felled was in charge, and if I'm not mistaken I heard another set of paws running into the dark. I think it is likely that Grays is still out there somewhere."

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, trying to figure out what's going on to the south of the church, exits the church.

Move to N-21.

If he sees a clear enemy near the church (looking east) he casts Sleep on it, if not he begins to encourage his allies.

Sleep or Inspire Courage, depending.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Waiiiiit, does he have a -1 penalty on saves due to the prayer to Erastil, or was that only the wolves who were right nearby when Kaym prayed?

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, looking out the window, slowly breathes out, shaken from the bolt now lodged mere inches away. I *was* trying to make him mad... With the newcomer in view through the window, Cedric whispers quietly, his bow held in one hand while the other makes a quick gesture towards the wolf-man.

Casting Sleep DC 14

If the spell takes hold, Cedric will try to ascertain what is happening to the east Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 and also call out to Warren that the larger wolf-man has fallen. If the spell doesn't work, Cedric will run to cover (K20) and alert his allies to the fact that there's something to the east, and that there's a scarier werewolf to the north, if they haven't noticed.

EDIT: Damnit, so close.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric is glad for silly-high AC caused by both cover and sacredness.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric, seeing the crossbow bolt hit Heligar from his vantage point by the window, decides that he should try to lure the unknown attacker closer, at least into the light, so the party has a chance of dealing with him. He runs across the church M18, presses his back to the wall and begins shouting out into the night.

"HEY YOU, YEAH THE COWARD OUT IN THE DARK THERE, WHY DON'T YOU GROW A BACKBONE AND COME OUT TO PLAY? I'VE GOT PLENTY OF MEAT ON MY BONES HERE, STOP HIDING LIKE A SAD HOUSE DOG. WE PROMISE WE'LL GIVE YOU LOTS OF TABLE SCRAPS IF YOU'RE GOOD, HEEERE DOGGY! COME ON BOY!"

Cedric isn't sure that the mysterious attacker is a werewolf, but whether or not it is he assumes that people don't like being called dogs. He is using the Antagonize feat.

Intimidate Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric runs to the window past Markov, and fires a silver arrow at the wolf near Heligar, hoping to draw it towards the majority of the party, trusting Warren to take care of the wolf at the door.

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

That could have gone better.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

*high fives GM*

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

"I may be able to help with that illumination issue, hang on." Cedric replaces the silver arrow with a normal one from his quiver, casting Light on the arrow as he draws it. He then walks to the door and fires the arrow a ways into the darkness (At the ground on K-28).

Ranged attack to hit square: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

This should be against AC 5, but it doesn't really matter where it lands. Light provides normal lighting in a 20 ft. radius from the origin, and improves 20 ft. of light beyond that.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric warily takes out his shortbow, and knocks a silver arrow.
"Better safe than horribly mauled and turned into a mindless beast, I always say."

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric reaches down to help Markov up. "Ahh... I noticed there was a crack in one of those gems, didn't realize it would have so dramatic of an effect. Was that wise, to drink from an unknown and magical vessel? Are you alright?"

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

If we distribute any silver arrows, Cedric will take one or two as well.

"We're not sure it was a werewolf, it was just an idea, though Kaym did seem to think something of it. Guess it's better to be prepared."

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

The idea didn't occur to Cedric until Kaym had finished speaking, but if he was delayed from departing then he may still be there when Cedric speaks. Also I wrote 'an beast-man' and it's reeeeeally bugging me :P

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric muses about the man's words, and a troubling suspicion is raised.

"Wait... if this Grays fellow was simply raised from the dead, why would those men take pieces of our clothing?" He looks sadly at his cut and torn tunic, making a mental note to find new clothes. "And Kaym said he went into the woods after a wolf or bear. I've heard tales like this before, I used to hear songs and plays about it all the time back in the troupe... I think we may be dealing with an beast-man, possibly under the control of a sorcerer."

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric has been in an uncharacteristically foul mood ever since the encounter with the sorcerer in the marsh. He sits in a pew, making no attempt to speak for once.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Definitely fine, let's get moving.

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Ahh, yes... well... super bard does not actually have spellcraft...

Cedric frowns thoughtfully at the items, then picks up the chalice. "Does anyone else want to take a shot at figuring out what this does?"

He looks at it for a moment longer "Hang on, let me try one thing...

Use Magic Device check to activate blindly: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Aww, not even a mishap :P

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Hearing Warren's musings on the box and chalice, Cedric will cast Detect Magic on them.

Super baaaard!

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

"This standing around is useless!" Cedric snaps suddenly, "We need to get out of here, perhaps to that church, perhaps not, but either way we're wasting time."

Male Human Arcane Duelist 1

Cedric releases Derig, letting him fall back onto the ground.

"There now, that wasn't so hard, was it?" Cedric turns to the others. "Well, I don't think he's got much more to say, but this still doesn't make sense to me. Who were those men? Why would they leave us to a farmer? Does anyone have any idea what we're dealing with here?"

He paces, angrily, as he tries to fit the pieces of Derig's story into what they had experienced.
