With that he disappears in some bushes across the road from the gate.

"Hah! Nice job clearing them out, I can get my berries with ease now. Anytime you need any potions, I will give you the special discount."

Bokkem takes one of the berries and pops it in his mouth. A satisfied smile crosses his face.

"In my old age, I have lost most of my taste. Svetlana, bless her heart, tries to make me food to eat, but just about everything tastes like sawdust to me. I just can't eat. Fangbaerries are just about the only thing I can taste anymore so I use them to flavor my food."

Bokkem happily takes the berries you have.

"Here, this should do you nicely."

He hands you six potions, three Lesser Restorations, and three Cure Moderate Wounds.

Leaving the newly cleared caves behind, you begin traveling back to Oleg's. About an hour North of the caves, you see a gathering of carrion birds circling in the sky to the East. However, remembering Bokkem's admonition about need ing the berries fresh, and considering the lateness of the hour, you decide to go back to Oleg's first and jot down the location for future investigation.

You arrive at Oleg's by early evening. And Bokkem hurries to you to see your results.

"Did you get them? Let me see!"

That evening, as you are eating, you are approached by Bokken.
"Since you are going to be exploring South, I was wondering if you could help me with something. As you know, I supplement Oleg's business with my own apothecary. I'm in need of two things for the post. First, my source for fangberries has become infested with spiders. At my age, I cannot dispose of them. If you could clear out the infestation and bring back a batch of fangberries, that would help a lot. Fangberries go bad quickly, so be sure to return here quickly after you pick them.

The second thing I need is a bucket of moon radishes. I'm not sure where to find them but I do know that kobolds value them highly. If you can get these things for me, I can reward you well. Also, if you are going to the spider cave. here are some alchemist fires to help against them."

The old man reappears with a crate filled with straw.
"If you're going to fight them, this might be of use."
He carefully places the crate on the ground.
"Now be careful with this, it is some unstable alchemist fire vials that are past their time. I was going to dispose of them, but you might be able to use them instead. A good solid hit on the crate should cause them to all explode quite nicely."
