Meraina bounces up and down. "Indeed! It sounds delightful!"

Meraina smiles. "I'm honored by your gift."

Meraina pulls the amulet out, offering it solemnly to the dragon. "Um... It is kind of messy, still."

Meraina takes the golden pendant and begins trying to clean it off with a handkerchief, then slips it into her belt pouch.

Do the runes seem recent, then?

"If she was trying to give herself some sort of protections, it appears to have not worked ..."

Meraina darts around the dazed Ettin, pulling her dagger.
Eroth beat me on initiative, so he won't get the flanking bonus on his attack.

She slashes at the creature with her dagger.

It appears Torgen's attack actually damaged him, though? Or is he protected from us as well until we get the amulet?

Meraina moves around the outer range of the ettin's reach, taking position next to Sir Randolf. Can someone move my token one spot to the right of Randolf? Thanks. I believe I can double move to get there without provoking AoO.

I vote taking our time, though I am not in the lead.

Meraina reloads her crossbow, then hangs it at her side. She then pulls a scroll out, having ready if needed. "I can go in the lead and try to enchant them ... but at this point, it feels like combat may be the only outcome, so I am not sure it is worth trying anything else. In that case, I have a scroll of.burning hands, but beyond that am fine at range."

"I would offer to help, but healing magic is not my area ..."

Still waiting to hear if the kids give us any more information on what to expect from Gilda.

Meraina smiled. "It is hard to be young. We will stop this Gilda, then we will return, and tell everyone how you helped us. You will be heroes of Highdelve ..." Dhe glances meaningfully at Tolwin. "Outcasts no longer."

After a pause, she says to the two of them, "You say Gilda has been in the caves for ages ... Hours? Days? What sort of powers has she demonstrated?"

Meraina steps forward, laughing. In a singsong voice she says, "You are quite right, children, you are indeed free of that foul city." She begins humming and "la, la, la"-ing in delight.

Casting Hyponotism on them. It affects 2d4 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 HD of creatures, with a DC 17 save.

She smiles at the children. "Now, children, we would ever so much appreciate if you would help answer our questions."

Meraina stands, wincing at the arrow sticking out of her chest and nods to Sir Randolf. She takes the potion and holds her hand over it.

Casting Detect Magic and then a spellcraft to identify.

She lowers her hand, then reaches up and yanks the arrow from her chest. As she hurls it to the ground, she immediately drinks the potion.

Meraina kneels by Eroth and feeds him her potion of cure light wounds.

Meraina sighs and, still glaring at the children, flicks her wrist. A spiraling rainbow of force flies true to strike at the tiefling.

"I said drop your weapons, kids," she wheezes, the arrow still protruding from her chest. She pulls a potion from her pack.

Meraina turns toward the two children and barks at them, her eyes flashing with fury, "Drop the weapons. Now!"

Meraina raises her hand and flicks her wrist, fingers out. A vibrating orb of green liquid springs from her fingers, arcing through the air toward the tiefling.

Meraina, though startled, pulls up her crossbow. Acting before Torgen gets into combat, she let's a bolt fly at the dazed tiefling.

Crossbow dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 5

She glances down at the arrow in her chest and says softly, "So much blood."

Meraina giggles as she makes the bright bloom drift over to Sir Randolf. "A welcome present, m'lord," she says. "We think there is an ettin in the cave," she says absently, her nervousness betrayed by the way she twirls her red locks around her fingers.

"Oh, the lovely flowers!" Meraina exclaims. She approaches the slope and, about 25 feet away, raises a hand. One of the brightblooms is picked up from the wagon with her Mage Hand spell and slowly drifts toward her.

Meraina's eyes widen, then she glances toward the cave, then back toward the house. "That is ... ominous."

Meraina takes one of the daggers. She then looks over at the campsite, to see if it has recently been inhabited.

Survival(untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 6

Meraina glances at the dwarf, and nods. "Yes, but we have to pass right by the campsite, so perhaps we should check it out first."

Meraina's eyes rise at the leaflet. "Sounds harsh, to deny them revelry. Doesn't even offer an explanation of what they've done."

Meraina glances sidelong at Torgen, then nods and steps up next to him. "Yes, I will help. Although perhaps we can persuade them to cooperate, before the axes are required."

Meraina says to the group, "Come, that dragon statue looks so beautiful. Let's get a better look." She giggling gleefully as she makes her way toward it through the crowd, while shoving funnel cake into her mouth.

Meraina places a silver piece on the stall's counter. "I will take a funnel cake, please."

"I do hope the children aren't harmed." Maraina eats her meal using mage hand to lift the utensils and mug of ale, bringing them to her lips.

Meraina nods. "So go to Highdelve, look for Gilda, and check on these kids? I assume this Kostchtchie that the cult worships is a bad thing."

The cheerful and outgoing Meraina is known for her bubbly laugh, witty humor, and knack for capricious magic.

Though from northern Brevoy, Meraina strains to remember the stories of her youth and consider whether she has heard of these tails or not in the past.

From her youth, she remembers only that Brevoy is cold. Though a clever girl, she's always been able to rely more on her looks and charm, and therefore hasn't had to study much.
