Looks like I’m gonna scrap the idea. Not a huge amount of interest.
It does not seem to be terribly popular. Was curious what folks preferences were for rules but was imagining the following
Low-mid level (3-6 or so)
25 point buy
All first party Paizo material

I've been away from these boards for many years and looking to get back into things. Its certainly less active here than when I left. I haven't had much luck getting into a game yet. So I thought why not make my own pitch.
Would others be interested in a collaboratively run PvP arena? There was something of the sort back in the day that was pretty cool. To get it off the ground I would be looking for maybe two other game masters/arbiters to help oversee fights and check character sheets etc.
thoughts?
I’m going to bow out of this one. It’ll be a cool adventure but I’m too excited about all of the non-core material.
Have a wonderful adventure!
@GMNK I've left Bog Rat's equipment bare bones for now (just included weapons/armor) with the plan to fill out the rest if he is selected. Is that alright or want me to fill it in before?
also I have my sheet laid out with final numbers (attack bonus, skills, etc.) but can add in the math behind them if you like
GM Nightmare Knight wrote: @Chaneha, I'll allow Elephant in the Room.
Oh boy! That’ll make Bog Rat’s life a lot easier
@GMAshlar I'm making a smith priest of Abarin. likely to move into inquisitor or Warpriest with PC levels but starting as an adept. Is there any additional info about Abarin available? Domains, doctrine, etc? reread the into post and found the deities document. will post additional details/alias soon
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 5) = 15 - 12
4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 6) = 17 - 14
4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 5) = 20 - 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 3) = 17 - 14
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 5) = 17 - 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 1) = 12 - 11
Dang - that’s some nice rollin’
I love the idea of building for professions, I’ll post a concept tomorrow.
Ahoy mateys, skulls and shackles!
I’ve only ever played the very beginning, full party wipe, and then the game died.
I’ve been dying to make a rage prophet and I think the high seas is just the place!
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 1) = 15 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 5) = 15 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) = 12 = 10
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 5) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 3) = 16 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 2) = 12 = 12
Reroll the 10 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 1) = 10 into a 9
Welp - I don’t know that I can make something that will survive with those but we will see

Your build looks great. It’s thematic as hell, and in actuality embarrassed to have not realized how great Eldritch Scrapper is for such a character. I’ll likely steal the idea in the future. ;)
Seconding this, I love to see someone pull out a "weird" archetype for a cool reason.
Two days left!
Hulgra and Tum Tum crossing their fingers (all four)
Congrats all, have fun exploring the river lands! (Don’t die)

Hmmm, dragon slayers you say!
Rolling for ability scores
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 6) = 18 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 1) = 9 = 8
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 3, 1) = 10 = 9
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 3) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 3) = 15 = 12
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 1) = 14 = 13
Well I will be goin point buy.
I’ve been excited about making a rage prophet but if we’re thinking more classic this might not be the game for that. I’ll have to think on a cool dragon slayer idea.

Wow, that sounds cool. Definitely sounds like a lot of GM work but if you’re down I’m down.
Sounds like maybe pre recruitment RP is a bit much, totally understandable. But bright ears would be happy to make imaginary friends with many of the fine folks in this thread.
The wait is always tough. Curious to see about campaign traits as well.
We could always do some RP while we wait.
If I'm not too late to throw my interest in. The adventure path looks
like a blast and i've never had the chance. I'll whip up a character - got a handful of concepts floating around so I'll elaborate once i've narrowed it down.
1d4 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
oof
Ooh i'm very interested. I am not new to 1e by any means, and have been away from these boards for years but have been looking for a good game to get back in. I have played the kingmaker video game but have never gotten the chance to play the adventure path proper. I'll post some character info soon.
You mentioned Wyrwood as an option but it wasn't covered in the original race guidelines. Are other "advanced" race permitted? e.g kasatha or ghoran?
High folks, I have been struggling with some mental health stuff which has drawn a lot of energy away from things like these games. I hope to be back on the boards more regularly and playing again soon. If you don't mind being kind of patient I do want to continue playing but if it feels a little too disruptive I understand. Let me know.

Quinlan has been adventuring for a year or two. He doesn't really have a destination in mind so I could justify him being in any number of places.
@Nate Lange - Oh man I really don't want you to feel like I'm preventing you from applying. Your character concept seems awesome. I figured since you were heading towards mystic theurge we would be different enough. If it is okay with MJ I can submit a different character.
@Mj - Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'll switch him over. Shouldn't change too much in the fluff.
I switched out abyssal for Italian.
@MJ - Reading primal magic events in more depth I'm thinking it may be a little clunky for PbP. What do you think? I can easily switch to a vanilla wizard or back to exploiter.
How do real languages and fictional languages mix in this setting. I currently have mostly real languages but also abyssal and draconic. Do the pathfinder languages see similiar use as in golarion or are they more rare?
Oh wow, I don't know how i missed that, I will drop exploiter as primalist plays into his background more.
Im out. It was a fun excersise though.
I have so many ideas, based on current submissions it looks like a full caster would be good. Im really feeling an irishman I just have nailed down what he does yet.
Hey MJ! its Koran from the ol' apocthulhu. I'll get a submission up in the next few days.
Also I would love to see any amount of the Fierce Ones Graphic novel that you are willing to share. I got to see a few of the earliest pages and they were great.
How does he have wish at will with a caster level of 51? And how does he have the spells and revelations of a 20th level oracle + multiple final revelations? Do you have a break down of his ability scores? How does he have 12 feats?
Doesn't seem like it. This is their only post so they may have just forgot about it.
I have the first book so I think I'll open up a recruitment if anyone here is interested.
If you end up sending out PMs I would love one.
I'm travelling until the 24th so cell service is patchy, but I'll post when I can.
Sounds good. I'm travelling until the 24th and cell service will be patchy but I'll post when I can.
Honestly I've been on both sides of this scenario many times. The classic "you are not a jedi yet" sort of encounter, and this has been one of the most enjoyable and well executed smack-downs I have been in.
It's a hard move to pull off flawlessly.
I think I'd rather stick with Barnabas. It always feels weird to play a character someone else made.
@terquem Normally I spend some percentage of my wealth on items for my companion, but with automatic bonuses wealth is halved and those items don't exist.
I'm still interested with Barnabas and Scruff. Never got an answer on my above question about automatic bonus progression and animal companions.

this sounds fun, color me interested
I guess you're right that I haven't been very clear in my narrations. I'll be sure to put OOC tags from now on if its a 5 ft. step. I've just been trying to make the movements dramatic, mechanically i've only been moving the 5 ft.
whosawhatsis wrote: Ashak, I just realized that attacking with two weapons takes a full attack action. You've been moving more than 5ft and making two attacks, which you wouldn't be able to do. Hmm? I think I've only taken full-attacks after a 5 ft. step. Did I mess up the map somehow?
Barnabas is updated for Automatic progression. How does automatic progression work with companions? It doesn't make sense for them to get their own set of automatic bonuses but it also doesn't make sense for them to lose out on bonuses completely.
Terquem wrote: The animal companion would need to be adjusted a bit more. I would not want both tremor sense and dark vision, and the strength does seem high.
I'd allow a bull rush attack, which wombats are actually great at (even give +4 bonus to bull rush as a race bonus), make the animal small, but sturdy and powerful, reduce the claw attacks to d4, but maybe increase the Constitution.
Sounds fair to me, i'll get rid of tremorsense, doesn't make sense if it's a wombat anyway. replace grab with bull rush.
The ability scores were based loosely off of the spinosaurus, which is what I was originally going to use. I took the strength and dex down a little, and removed an extra natural attack. I'm open to tweaking though. Vermin companions seem strange to me since they're mindless but if that's my only choice I'll take it.
