Thanks for the advice, I appreciate the lack of spoilers, menhir savant does look quite good, and yes there is a bit of tank missing, but I would probably focus on being a wildshape druid to try and help fill that void. If the flavour of the campaign is based around dungeons does anyone have any good roleplaying ideas for a druid in that sort of environment? Or am I better off switching classes to keep with the flavour of the campaign?
So im about to start the shattered star ap and my gm said we cannot read the players guide for it, but are allowed to ask for advice building a character that will fit withthe campaign. I am thinking of going with a druid, but I really just want to fill out what the party is missing. So far we have a monk who will go with dragon style, dwarven white haired witch, and a bladebound magus. Any suggestions?
King maker is all about conquering your environment so to speak, a ranger does this quite well, but I would recommend a druid, their potency is second only to a wizard for casting in my opinion, and wild shape and a companion can help your paladin tank. Paladins do make great tanks because of their ability to self heal with lay on hands as swift action.
What about a monk? The drunk-monk archetype while not the strongest by any means would thematically make a good drunken brawler/crewman for a pirate ship, the zen archer and MoMS are much more optimized. Or an oracle of waves or wind? The character could roleplay as someone who divines the weather or sea and helps guide the voyage.
Since you seem to be following a water oriented theme withthe characters a merfolk would be a good choice having a base swim speed and with the string tail racial trait a slow but usable land speed, I would also agree withthe ranger switchhitter, merfolk have aracial archtype that could compliment that, and if not they have to stat boosts to adequetly play any class
So I've conceptualized a druid from the jungle, very brutish and combat oriented, a literal force of nature. We roll 4d6 drop the lowest for each stat, and have access to pretty much anything we can find on the D20pfsrd. We are starting at level 1, but I am trying to plan the character ahead to at least level 9. I'm not really sure I've got the feats right and looking for some overall advice, I've never played a caster before. Race: Human, Dual Talent (+2 Str, +2 Dex) 2 Starting traits:
Animal Companion: Allosaurus (Likely give it +1 int at Lv.4) Feats: 1:Tougness
So though I say new to game I have effectively played three characters. That being said none of them have lived passed level 4, we have had three total party deaths. Thus I am attempting to make an optimized character that is both cool and can survive/dish out some pain. Having read the advanced race guide the merfolk seem to shine in terms of raw power when it comes to stats and natural armour, their speed however is lack luster. That's why I would like help building either a Barbarian, for their movement boost (combined with strong tail), or a druid who I imagine will spend a good deal of time in wild shape and the movement will be dealt with. Really any advice in terms of feats, or specific builds would be appreciated, go nuts! |
