"Well done Imiri. You truly are a magnificent killer. My sincere conggratulations.

Now we should see if there is anything we can do to repair this beasts foul depradations.

Oh, and if you'd cut its head off please? Sometimes these things regenerate"

Balazar steps out of everybodies charge lane.

I think that I can see it from where I now am. If not, put me where I can just see it and NOT be in Amiri's charge lane. If absolutely necessary I'll block Sajan's charge lane

Amiri, remember that you have jump up. So you should be able to charge up to it easily

"If it tries to escape again, I'm going to try and stop it"

Balazar readies a Dispel Magic if the beast tries to throw and spell or spell like ability.

[ooc]You're right about the wand of magic missiles. So he is currently holding two wands"[/b]

"You are lame. Lame I tell you. Afraid to come down and fight us in person. Little ittle gnome and you're too scared to come."

UMD: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 "Hah. Take THIS, foul scum" damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) + 3 = 9

"A hit, a hit, a palpable hit"

A little sotto Voce to the others, when (if) they get close enough that he can speak to them without the demon hearing

"If it doesn't come in here, let me try and dismiss its flight again immediately AFTER it next goes. If I succeed its just going to cast fly again or maybe dimension door away"

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Given that it is flying while entangled and without wings, Balazar realizes that it is flying by magic. He therefore drops his wand of magic missile while heading to the door, drawing his wand of dispel magic instead.

"Hope this works."

He attempts a dispel targetted on the fly spell.

Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Balazar goes over to Amiri and touches her, giving her a jump spell (+20 to acrobatics for long or high jumps)

I'm hoping that this will let her jump a bit into the air and still hit the demon, assuming that it again goes up to 10 ft

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Is it on the ground or still flying?

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

I assumed he was using wings. Doh

Balazar rushes into the room

"Amiri, I'll try and cast jump on you next round. Stay within 20 feet of me please"

He then uses his wand of magic missile.

I just noticed that the pregen contradicts itself. The gear says that it is a caster level 3 wand (2 missiles),the description says that it shoots 3 missiles (presumably caster level 5 or the author doesn't know the rules of the game. Which is definitely a possibility :-().

At any rate

UMD: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

Guess its moot :-)

"Damn this thing. The seller promised me that it would work"

They've made this fight quite hard for the pregens haven't they? 20 foot high room so the bad guy can fly and be out of reach and none of us have a way of flying except the Eidolon. I can't even summon celestial flying creatures (I'm only allowed to summon a wolverine)

Balazar tries to identify the opponents

Big guy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Rams: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

"The big guy is a daemon who can breathe acid. Use Silver or good weapons against him

The sheep resist cold and acid, otherwise they're just sheep

So use the holy weapons against the big guy. Lets finish off the rams quickly and then concentrate on the big guy"

Balazar then takes a 5 foot step backwards and casts glitterdust on the two rams X marks the origin point. Will DC 17 or be blinded. Oh, and can't go invisible :-)

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

"Right, we're ready"

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

"I suggest that we go through the door that probably leads to another side room before entering the main chamber."

Balazar heads over to the door that he means.

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

know planes: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25. "That fanged crown is the unholy symbol of the archdemon Anogetz. His followers have clearly corrupted this place"

its not clear which wall is dripping. Pradrig would be between wall and Balazar. Position on map assumes dripping is on East wall

"I will see if I can discover a little more about what is going on. It will take a few seconds"

Balazar then casts detect magic. Assuming 3 rounds are allowed to pass:

spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Are the two dead bodies the priests we were supposed to meet?

Does the sound of animals continue? If so, from where? Balazar will try detect magic within the room

knowledge planes: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33

"we can use the liquid in the pools. It is similar to holy balm"

Looks over at Amiri

"we dip a weapon in it and the first strike with that weapon will bypass the resistance some fiends have to weapons. I suggest you dip your spear in it and use that if your greastsword appears ineffective"

"there are 6 uses in total. Sajan, you can just wrap a cloth dipped in it around your fists. I'll do that with Pradig's tail. One use for Pradig and Amiri, two for each of Merisiel and Sajan?"

"Amiri, even you shouldn't go off alone. You might need us"

Or more likely, we'll need you

In a little bit of a whisper so Amiri can't hear:

"I think that we should join the pig headed strong but stupid one or we are like to break into two hornets nests at once. Damned barbarians. And they say that GNOMES have poor impulse control"

Balazar and Padrig head off to join Amiri. Padrig is, as usual, flying right over her head.

I think they're amusing. But whether or not they add or detract probably somewhat depends on how accurately they reflect the sound.

When I played the animals one they really sounded like pigs to me. If that turns out to be true, they add to the game. But if the animals turn out to be cows, I'm not sure how I'll feel.

"Or maybe holy swine would be more likely"

"We should probably investigate the animals. They may be fighting the real priests. Or the intruders. I don't know much about this Erastil but I'm guessing that his clerics have sacred bulls or some such"

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

"Ready here. lets go"

Balazar and Padrig step up, Padrig flying directly over Balazars head.

"As I'm sure that you've already noticed, these foul beasts can take the shape of others. In case we get seperated, I suggest that we have a battle cry that we can use to identify each other. How does Rutabaga sound?

We can't trust that anybody we see is who we think they are. But, they might be. So, no killing anybody until we're reasonably sure that they're enemies. Or, at least, worth killing :-)

Do we want to question these scum? Personally, I'm fine with just killing them but I'll let you two decide"

That last was directed at Merisiel and Sajan. He KNOWS how Amiri is going to vote :-).

"I'd suggest just going through the front doors. That is probably where their main party is and its best to kill them first"

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Balazar will delay until just before the beast next goes. If it is still up at that point, he'll magic missile it again from the wand

"Pew pew"

Magic missile: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 1) + 2 = 6

Somebody else who makes lots of use of google translate, I see :-)

Knowledge dungeoneering: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

"These are faceless stalkers. Don't use blunt things on them. As, uh, Amiri already showed. Amiri, well done. One hit, one corpse. I'm impressed, I really am"

Balazar steps up and fires the magic missile wand at the other one, calling out the command word

"Pew pew. Hah. Take that you fiend"

wand: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4

"Wow. I've got to get that wand fixed one of these days. Padrig, if you would be so kind as to attack it?"

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Nothing at all suspicious here. No, not a thing

"Its refreshing to hear a priest admit that they haven't taken good care of their church. Normally they're more than a little defensive about such things"

Making no attempt whatsoever to disguise it, Balazar casts Detect Magic.

"I'm just going to see if there is any residual magic to help us identify the vandals"

Assuming that they allow him to spend 3 rounds, he definitely wants to look at both of the priests. Looking for Disguise Self or Alter Self spells primarily but he'll see what he can.

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

Pradig is actually flying above Balazar but that was impossible to see

Balazar takes out his wand of magic missile

Hope I don't have to use this. Hopefully Imiri will kill everything before it even gets close to me

"Padrig, it looks like there is trouble inside the temple. At least 4 inside and we were only expecting 2. If you haven't noticed anything, please come down so we can face it together"

Assuming Padrig has nothing to report and comes down Balazar casts barkskin and shield on him the 2 spells bring Padrigs AC to 26

Balazar also casts light on a pebble in his hand.

knowledge planes: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

"Anogetz has some divine casters working for him. Be ready in case there are any spell casters amongst them. Oh, it also sounds like the priests of Erastil may be captive in there. Let's please try and make sure that we only kill hostiles. Killing ones employers gets one a bad reputation"

Padrig then flies up a little behind and above Amiri.

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

I just realized that I may have misinterpreted what you said. Are we currently in the temple waiting for the clerics to show up or on our way there?

Balazar sidles up to Merisiel and whispers to her

"perhaps challenging the barbarian to see if she can break the nice magical spear isn't the wisest course of action?"

although it might be really interesting to see if she can break it. And to see what would happen. Hmm. And it would be so amusing to see the faces of the priests. However, Merisiel is right, we wouldn't get paid

will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

no, I REALLY need money right now. I guess I'll be good. Pity.

Female Human Witch (Herb Witch) 6

wow, we start WITH the McGuffin? Never happened before :-)

The white haired gnome suspects that there may be more to the spear than we have been told and tries to identify it

spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13.

"Sajan, perhaps you would take the spear? I'd take it myself but it really is just a LITTLE big for me. But somebody should have it. While Padrig is clearly the most worthy he doesn't have hands to wield it"

The winged serpent mutters "and who's fault is that?" which Balazar pretends not to hear.

"Don't worry Amiri, I'm sure somebody will be along soon to try and take the spear away from us and you'll be able to kill as much as you want"

that idiot is so singleminded that I'm surprised she isn't bleached
