We'd be resuming at level 3?

Shame.
Oh well, these things happen.

Just so long as you don't say "I'm not pished" (much)
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
The middle sounds good to me; I can move to the front or back quickly from there as needed.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
But I do have +8 on Intimidate, in a pinch!
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
I've got +2 in Diplomacy.

Baalîantar is happy enough to sleep on the wagon Kunala is sleeping underneath.
If the guard bothers him about he'll give him 5 gp and tell him to buy himself a pint or two (or one hundred plus).
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Baalîantar makes sure his horse, Bubble, and donkey, Chuckles are all tended to properly before turning in for the night.
Following Kunala's lead, he'll sleep near Bubble and Chuckles, to be sure they're safe.
Once awake, he has a quick breakfast.
And then makes sure Bubble and Chuckles are kitted up for the travel ahead.
Baalîantar spent good money on those two, so he wants to take good care of them

Zimul's marching order sounds good to me.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"I'm happy with the bow I have"
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"That's why we have our pack animals, like my donkey Chuckles and my horse, Bubbles."
"We should be able to restock nicely at the end of the trip."
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"Let be see if I can figure out anything about that axe."
"Apart from it being sharp and shiny, of course."
spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Besides, with a big enough reward, we can buy all the booze we want!
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"Let's not be too hasty! What sort of reward?"
"And what happened to those fishermen anyway?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
yay high rolls!
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Pointing at the caravan master, Baalîantar says:
"Does anyone have some skivvies for this poor fellow?"
"He needs something more presentalbe than his birthday suit!"
Baalîantar then says to him:
"Don't mind my friends, Sir."
"We're all a bit on edge, fighting cannibals and all."
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
While the others are exchanging pleasantries, or trying to, with the newly liberated caravan master, Baalîantar will search the boat.
Just in case there's anything interesting, useful, or valuable lying about.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
I can't complain. Did my taxes the other day and it took less than an hour.
Mind you, I had a straightforward return, without a lot of stuff.
Being able to do it via online tax software also helped.

Round 6
Baalîantar attacks the beast again.
great axe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Flanking, and Arcane Strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 5
Baalîantar attacks the thing/person with fangs again.
great axe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Flanking, and Arcane Strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Tax time is very exciting!
It's way easier to tell shameless lies in print! :D
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 4
Baalîantar clambers on to the boat at attacks the thing/person with fangs that Paletress is fighting.
great axe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Flanking, and Arcane Strike
Typ-i-cal! I too seem to be infected by the 'roll a 2 to hit' bug. :P
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
And another long weekend coming up (Easter!), as it happens. :o
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Sorry for any delays on my part.
I'm at my Mum's place in Vancouver.
I've also got a laptop with a new Linux install that's being a bit temperamental.
HL, which usually works fine in the WINE emulator, won't connect to the Internet
to update properly. A bit annoying. But once I'm home tomorrow, I'll have
access to my home computer, which has HL working fine.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Since Baalîantar is also closing in on the boat:
Will, if needed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"Why those bandits were trying to defend this tatty old boat?"
"Must be something valuable aboard."
"And where's a boat hook when you need one?"
Baalîantar walks toward the bow of the ship, and puts his backpack down.
He also puts down his greataxe, so he can get the ship to board it.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 2
Seeing the first to bandits disposed of, Baalîantar moves down beside Kunala,
drops his greataxe and then fires his sling at the brigand on the boat.
sling: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
with Arcane Strike
And misses horribly!
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Baalîantar moves up, almost casually, between Kunala and Paletress.
"Wotcher!" he says as a pointlessly casual greeting to the brigands.
Greataxe at the ready
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Yup; it's working right and proper now
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Is it just me, or anyone else having trouble with their campaigns page showing the number of new posts in their campaigns?
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"This should be interesting", Baalîantar whispers to nobody in particular.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"Well, there are a few less of them now."
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 2
Baalîantar charges one of the brigands fighting Paletress
great axe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
damage: 1d12 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
charge and arcane strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"I can't really stab with my axe, but I'll think of something."
Baalîantar readies his greataxe and follows Paletress.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"I'm just down a few scratches, effectively."
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
How do you dent a barbarian woman?
Sounds like the start of a naughty joke! :D
@ Zimul:
Re: HP and status lines & s@ (but less so of that third item)
I usually keep mine updated in the 'status' spoiler under my alias name.
Currently have it at 25/28.
Down a touch, but not much.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Baalîantar, who has been busy cleaning the blood and gore off of his axe,
finally goes to see what's up with the liberated prisoners:
"I'm Baalîantar. I know how to use an axe. And a few spells."
To prove just that, he casts Cure Light Wounds on himself:
cure light wounds (CL2): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

I took a keen interest in Dionysus in particular in my Greek and Roman
Studies at Uni not so long ago.
The 'portfolio' of the real-world worship of Dionysus/Bacchus/Bromius:
• creativity
• insanity (with violent results for humans trying to emulate the god)
• irrational behaviour (violent or not)
• wild abandon and fun
• wine (and its connection to fun, insanity, and violence)
• agriculture
• fertility (of crops)
• blessed afterlife
The odd thing about myths of Dionysus is that he was probably the only
faithful husband of the Olympian gods. Yet his cult was the only one
the well-to-do feared for encouraging licentious behaviour.

Round 5
Baalîantar moves around to put a brigand between himself and Kunala and attacks
great axe, battle dance: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

inspire courage battle dance (round 6), arcane strike, flanking
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)

damage: 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
inspire courage battle dance (round 5), arcane strike, flanking
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 3
Baalîantar, somewhat miffed at being bitten, swings his greataxe at the wolf attacking him
great axe, battle dance: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
damage: 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
inspire courage battle dance (round 4), arcane strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 2
"Alright "… Baalîantar tells the cleric, and then attacks the wolf threatening Zimul:
great axe, battle dance: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
damage: 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
inspire courage battle dance (round 3), arcane strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
"My pleasure", Baalîantar says to Kunala.
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Oh, well, in that case:
great axe, battle dance: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 = 18
Exactly the same result.
Isn't that typical? :p
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 2
Baalîantar charges the bandit attacking Kunala and tries to chop him down
great axe, battle dance: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 = 18

inspire courage battle dance, charge, arcane strike
Male Half-Orc Skald (inactive)
Round 1
Baalîantar moves up ahead of Paletress, great axe at the ready, and starts his Battle Dance routine
