About Aurelain

Aurelain the Bold


Rescued from an orc tribe in his early teens by the valiant halfling paladin Colewin Binderbook, Aurelain has come to adulthood in the Silver Shields. As a half breed he was mistreated and kept mostly as a novelty due to his complexion and golden hair by the Orcs of the Severed Hand. When that tribe supported the wrong wizard and were attacked by the Silver Shields one of the things they lost was Aurelain. He did not hesitate when Colewin offered to take him out of his cage and out of the orc camp and his life has been one of mercenary adventure since. Perhaps Colewin kindness was spurred by their similar blond hair.

It would be unfair to say that Aurelain fits in well in the Kalistocracy of Druma. His chaotic nature conflicts too often with the rules of such a society. So it was no surprise a year or so back that Aurelain came to Colewin and asked that he go and try his luck in some other part of the world. The separation was short though as Aurelain usual good luck did not hold and he fell in doing caravan duty to the only place more lawful than the Kalistocracy; Cheliax. Suffice it to say that he, and unfortunately, the Silver Shields are not not exactly welcome in that diabolic place and Aurelain is certainly not in a hurry to go back. It might even be true that his handsome visage appears on a wanted poster or two, though he will explain in great detail how it was all a misunderstanding.

So he is back in the Kalistocracy of Druma and a little more worldly. And he feels more indebted to the little man than ever, having somehow involved the good name of the Silver Shields in his misadventures. So he is back with the shields and is just now being trusted to work contracts with his own team.


Happy-go-lucky is a good summary of Aurelain, until he gets mad. He really does try to live and let live and approaches work and live in as positive manner as he might. He only kills out of necessity, preferring to leave those he must fight alive when he can. He likes a good story and a night of drinking more than most. He is fond of the ladies and spends too much of his coin on a pretty girl when he can. Living in the moment, Aurelain is not a planner and certainly thinks little of what he might do in the future. He is very loyal to Colewin though thinks the little guy should lighten up some.


Aurelain is quite a handsome half orc despite his tusks. His name means golden and he seems to live up to it. His hair and beard are golden. His skin has a golden hue and the hair that shows on his arms, legs and chest also match. Even his eyes are a yellow gold. He carries a black bardiche and has a large hammer on his back but when he is in a tough fight he often reverts to fighting with his clawed hands. He wears lamellar leather that he has died a dull golden color, like that of wheat. He bears the the holy symbol of Cayden Caliean on the right chest of his armor.

Planned Progression:

Aurelain will take 5 levels of Bloodrager and then move to Dragon Disciple. His bloodline is Draconic and he will become a golden dragon disciple. I plan at least 8 levels of Dragon Disciple. If we make it past level 13 I will have to think about more levels of Bloodrager or completing the DD prestige class all the way to 10.

The Grooming Kit of Bensozia:

During a druken night in a small Chelaxian town you stumbled into a shop more to woo the pretty sales girl you saw in the window more than to buy anything. Once inside the fine establishment however you were quickly cornered up bu a well dressed man equisately groomed.Before your realized it you where in a barber's chair being tidied up. Hair trimmed beard trimmed nails filed... his sales pitch was excellent. No longer worried about the girl you found yourself talking with man about everything and yet nothing really.

You found yourself stumbling out of the shop an hour later with a small woodencase lined in leather with an exquisate grooming kit inside.

The Grooming Kit of Bensozia - The masterwork grooming kit is special, though unnoticible to all but the sharpest mind. Anytime a creature spends an hour using the tools to trim up, brush, clean or otherwise take care of their appearance for the next 24 hours they are treated as having a +2 bonus to their charisma based on just appearance (even pretty a jerk is a jerk)

If the user spends the time on the upkeep and appearance of anything that can be considered a natural weapon (bites, claws etc...) Those implements (for the next six hours or six attacks whichever comes first automatcally do 1 point of damage... even on a miss. (the exception being if a 1 is rolled.)
