I want to address the idea that needing to purchase the Pathfinder 2e rulebook to use the playtest manual is unfair. Pathfinder 2e is a deep part of Starfinder 2e. They could release the Pathfinder 2e book as a stand-alone Starfinder "core" book. Than those who play Pathfinder 2e would pay twice! You're buying the base rules to Starfinder 2e when you buy the Pathfinder 2e rulebook. I hope baby Aucturn doesn't decide to eat the starstone - its all bright and shiny!

Is a gestalt fighter-brawler acceptable? Also, I do not know how to do the scripting to do my post the way Regina did. Is there a place I could go write the post and then cut and paste here, or a good reference to figure it out? Otherwise I will have to put my character up in a good sized post.

I've never used Gestalt before. Pretty much always been a "by the books" player/GM. I am quite intrigued by the idea and have a few questions: 1. Is there a rule as to which classes you can combine? A brawler and a fighter are similar and I was wondering if they were "too close" for Gestalt. 2. Do I simply combine their abilities and limitations as if I were multi-classing? As an example, as a fighter I would have the ability to wear heavy armor, however I would unable to use some of my brawler abilities if I did so. 3. Would I get the bonus feats of the fighter AND the bonus feats of the brawler? 4. Can I use archetypes guided by the usual rules for such? My last question has nothing to do with Gestalt: I thought I should ask before posting: Do we post here what class/classes we are making or do you want to have us come to the table unknowing as to what classes we will have?

Well, I rolled interesting stats. Guess the dice gods felt I needed to be humbled after the 18! 4d6: (2,6,4,2) = 14: 12
Sorry, I have been trying to figure out the "dice expression" from the formatting and just don't get it. And I could do THAC0 in my head!

I play the MMO Star Wars the Old Republic - but it doesn't cut into my pen and paper RPG time. I love the MMO, but I agree that MMOs will never catch up to pen and paper games. You get a limited choice of characters which many others also play, all carbon copies. Your role playing is extremely limited, even on so called RP servers. It takes little if any imagination. So online games cannot compare. Another child of the 70s I played D&D in one version or another most of my life until I was about 35. Then I dropped out of playing an RPG for about ten years. I discovered Pathfinder in '09 through an old friend and have been playing regularly ever since. Why play? I am a 51, disabled woman who is very creative. It has to go somewhere, why not my home brew game? I love adventure paths, so I run one of those too. I am currently playing in Wrath of the Righteous, which appeals to my "knight in shining armor" heroic fantasy interests. It's in my blood. I can't not play. Well, off to prep for Sunday's Giantslayer campaign. Then some Star Wars. All in a day's "work". |
