Arthas closes the distance hoping he can get close enough to kill one of the creatures before it has the chance to lurch off, hauling down the bridge with it.

Arthas can’t hide the shock from his normally taciturn visage.

”This is an incredible show of support general. I am humbled yet it shows the importance of this mission. Does anyone have any council on how we can achieve it though? Maybe one of the summoned monsters could have a calming effect on the beasts below?”

General Irabeth got orders out for local units to start fighting the fires and getting what supplies they could out of the warehouse.

She then turned to Grey.
"My Lord Grey" she gritted out, her steely gaze pinning him to the ground. "What were you doing with that rope, and where is Lady Nurah?"

”Search for her, but you will likely find she teleported away. Let’s get a mage in here and search for the aura please, so we can identify the spell or device used? Can we get trackers as well?”

Arthas looks at Grey’s responses.

He detects evil on Grey focusing on him for a few rounds.

”This fire may be a distraction for other moves or acts. We can’t let down our vigilance.”

Arthas looks back at Alorah. His large armored form could have gone barreling through the pressing persons, but he looks resolved to remain where he is.

”I could have used Radiance to smite her evil.. My understanding is that the powers that be would not allow the strike to land on a good and innocent being. My hope was your healing aura would hold no violence. I know it will not burn me. I also know what I saw on two occasions with Nurah. She is complicit and lying. Being innocent I would welcome your Heavenly Fire’s embrace.”

”I hoped for revelation and possible redemption rather than her outright annihilation. I imagine her true lords will have far less care for her soul than I and mine.”

”I know my actions seemed extreme to you, but she has been able to lie to the Queen and her loyal ranks of paladins, the same way the enemy did before the fall of our holy city and the Silver Martyr.”

The Paladin stands firm, but calls out to his companions.

”Some of you need to find GREY, he should not go alone.”

”Nurah’s alignment has been shielded from me and every other Paladin in the army since we mustered. The enemy has had a mole in our midst this entire campaign. The only times the enemy has not known our next move have oddly been coincident to times she is not in attendance to know our next move. I have seen her with my own eyes teleport. This was after the battle in the valley. I have wracked my brain on this for weeks.”

The Paladin’s eyes never leave the halfling’s.

”Now she lies effortlessly.”

”If I were to lie, I would not be able to wield Radiance as I do.”

Arthas draws the holy sword and places his bare hand on the blade showing that it does not burn him.

He holds up the dragon scale for all to see.

”The Martyred Dragon gifted me one of his scales as he fell in defense of the Holy City. A city which fell from traitors from within.”

He looks at his companions.

”Worries of making a false accusation held me back from stating my suspicion for some time. I couldn’t think an unobtrusive way to find the truth without some harm to a possibly innocent servant of Heaven. Blessedly, during our last battle I was granted a vision.”

Speaking in Celestial:
”Alorah, Incorruptible, can wield Heavenly Fire. It heals all who are good, it will do nothing to those who are truly neutral in the War between Heaven and Hell, but it will burn Demons and those who are evil like them.”

He looks back to Nurah.

”Care to explain your teleportation stunt?”

Arthas moves over to the halfling and places a hand on her shoulder in a friendly embrace, but where he can also grab her if she makes a sudden movement.

”We may also have an ace in the hole. I believe one of us possesses a way to get in plenty close and without being seen Keldon.”

”Nurah, I know you are no wizard and I have seen you teleport with my own eyes. Please, show them the device you have used to do it.”

”Keldon, your spell for brittling the chains sounds the most promising way to reduce damage from a stampede tearing away the supports.”

”Perhaps we could feed the beasts something, put them to sleep somehow or box them in where they can’t flee? Maybe a mass entanglement spell or plant growth if some of our host have access to such magic?”

”Once we have the problem of how to keep the rug from being pulled out from under us, we will have to eliminate the threat posed from the reventments. Do on we know the number guards stationed on top of the bridge?”

@DM:
Does Arthas know that the halfling can teleport in this game? I knew it in the Table 2 Game. Just checking before I have him say something wrong.

Many of us have had it, experiences ranging from no symptoms whatsoever to being really sick. Two people I knew of have died in the same family who traveled to Mexico then came back. Most people around me that have had it felt like they had allergies with surging symptoms at night. I had the difficulty breathing and dry cough part, high heart rate and temp. Many more unconfirmed cases are all around because they don’t always test people unless they broke the 39 c mark. They tell people to remain home and recoup if the symptoms are not severe.

Luckily only two people under 18 have passed away of it in the whole state of 40+ million. Over 60% of the deaths have been people over 70 with the vast majority being those 80+. It rips through nursing homes.

Survival rate here is still over 99%, but I am aware that is not the case in many other areas of the world. 1,765,058 Californians have tested positive since March, 22,150 COVID related total deaths in CA, 269 were from today.

We are testing over 300,000 people a day here.

I hope the new vaccines make a positive impact.

Sadly, I live in a Deeply Red state, with a Governor who happily ditto's the Presidential Administration's 'party line'. I live in Missouri, near the Kansas/Missouri border. Don't ask me why we call it the Kansas/Missouri border instead of the Missouri/Kansas border, I suspect it has something to do with that nation-wide donnybrook that no one has gotten over from about a hundred-fifty or so years back. Just about every ICU in the state is at capacity. We would try to move some of our worst cases, but every neighboring state's ICU's are also at capacity. I work in retail, part-time; the week before I started self-isolating, I had...

I do not miss retail right now. Nothing like customers to ruin the Christmas Spirit during the holidays.

What a small world (PbP space). I have a lot of family living in St Louis proper. My in-laws have recently moved out to Festus (I have heard it’s nice?) and my wife was born at Normandy Osteopathic South.

My cousin is Chief of the Division of General Medical Sciences in the Department of Internal Medicine at Washington University. My wife’s cousin works for the Coroner’s office who is in turn married to someone who is an ER nurse, who is in turn related to family in Law Enforcement. Sigh, so anyway you could say they have an “elevated” risk for exposure. My whole family was supposed to be back in STL for a wedding in April, obviously that didn’t happen.

In recent news the hospitals have been testing samples here in Southern CA that show the virus was here at least since October of 2019.

It is going to be a wild ride for a while and we can’t ask to be let off.

Keep your spirits up and remember “Fear is the Mind Killer.”

Arthas strides up to the wall and activated his Medal of Valor.

”May the power of Heaven pierce this unholy barrier!”

Using his bond with Radiance, he begs the Celestial powers to the sword the properties of impact to increase the damage to the barrier.

He uses his mythic power to bypass all DR as he swings with all his might.

”By Ragathiel’s Will!”

Sudden Attack, power attack: 1d20 + 13 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 13 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 34

Arthas nods at Grey.

”Can you disarm any of its potency or know another way to thread the needle to our goal?”

He asks honestly before drawing the holy relic sword and laying it flat against his palms and begins praying.

” As the dark begins to rise
Heaven bids you, save your breath
it's far from over.
Leave the lost and dead behind
Now is not time to run for cover
Devils wish to chain the world
Demons feed on fear only seeking to break it.”

”Ignite the fires and light springs up
Untread paths lead to nowhere
Hope when all is lost again.”

”I'm not giving in
I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut fear away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take the fight to Heavens enemies.

”Should you watch me end through dying eyes
When it appears the dark is taking over
Ragathiel show me where forever dies
Wrap me in your wings and fly me to Heaven.”

”If all is lost. I'm not giving in.”

Arthas places the sword in his right hand and gives it a few practice swings with his eyes focused at the center of the obstacle.

Arthas sees his holy sword has limited effect.

”These are something different than we have faced before.”

Sheathing the great weapon, he batters the boney construct with his mighty shield using his free hand to really ram home the blow!

Arthas is wary of the enemy’s tricks. He attempts to locate the focus of the evil. Was it actually the construct, or was the greater evil still hidden hoping to draw him in?

He stands ready to attack or be attacked as he strides in to join the fray.

”Show your true self demon. You can’t hope to stop us.”

Yeah, serving the General of Heaven’s Host, who is the son of the Devil himself and half Fire Elemental who then had to prove himself to Heaven kinda makes one a little bit bold and open :).

With no fear for his own body and soul Arthas stands fast in his splendid armor reflecting Radiance‘s heavenly nimbus.

”We see you there demon.”

Switching his grip on the sword remade in the form of Ragathiel’s own be begins reciting the Litany of Wings aloud in the chamber.

”Ragathiel, cover us with Your Precious Wings.
Open our eyes to the lies of the Denizens of Hell.
Ragathiel, help me unite your Faithful.
Help me fulfill our sacraments.
Ragathiel, do not let their agents divide and deceive our allies.
Help us to reject lies presented to our eyes and ears as the truth.
Ragathiel, give us Strength.
Give us Hope.
Flood these lost soul with the Spirit of Heaven.
Protect us from the beasts herein.
Ragathiel. give us the gift of discernment so we can follow the path you wish at all times forever and ever. Amen.”

”You must all have been blessed by the Martyred Dragon himself. You have the same aura about you as the others who have been given the holy scale.”

”Behold how the darkness shines from the light of heaven.”

Arthas wills Radience to glow ever brighter as he moves forward.

”Every battle we fight together determines the fate of this crusade. Stand strong and valiant against what ever comes, pressing ever forward!”

”I am prepared to continue, just let me know when everyone has made their preparations or if there is anything I can do to help. You all fought admirably. Our resistance such a threat that Groetus himself peered down upon us. We need nothing else prove that our way is the right course!?”

Arthas extends his hands to Alorah.

”Let not this servant of heaven be diseased or sickened my Lord.”

Don’t forget the +4 for being with Arthas in his circle of courage.

The Ghouls drag their hideous claws across the Paladin’s magnificent armor like grass brushing against a city wall. Arthas moves to Allorah’s side intent on protecting her. As he moves he pontificates the position of heaven against the destruction and nothingness offered by Groteus, God of ending the world for no good purpose.

”Feel the light of Heaven through this grey gloom! Feel HIS wings wrap around you and feel it uplifting you like holy eagles soaring on the warm updraft of Devine wind!”

I think I am immune to the fear effect.

Arthas leads the ride into the boneyard with Radiance unsheathed, it’s holy light leading the way.

Seeing to moon of Groetus manifest above them the Paladin shouts out!

”Do not let fear take hold or the insanity will follow!”

Aura of Courage +4 (10 ft.) (Su) Allies in aura gain a morale bonus to saves vs. fear.

His mighty charger balks and then buckles under the shifting pave stones before going down.

Arthas desperately tried to pull the horses head to save its legs while also allowing him to dismount sparing his own.

While it wasn’t pretty, it worked. The Paladin struggled to stay afoot himself.

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

I am guessing he will still take 3d6 based on your above post

Seeing many of the horses and riders are going to be injured, Arthas calls out to the Heavens!

”Ragathiel! Catch us in your wings, heal the faithful and purge the unclean!”

A faint red aura collects around the armored holy warrior briefly before suddenly manifesting then abruptly disappearing in a vision of crimson outstretched angel wings! A 30’ radius burst of holy energy blasts out from him, wrapping the crusaders in a warm embrace while shredding the undead with extreme prejudice!
