"No problem! After all, that's why we're all here - to solve problems," Arken nods enthusiastically and turns to Jeanuel. "I prefer to keep some distance between myself and an opponent. That's pretty much it."

Six weeks on a ship is tough on someone who used to rarely stay in one place for too long. And the constant swaying, ugh.

Arken spend most if his time speaking with those, who would be exploring the new land - other pathfinder and Carver Hastings. The archeologist had a lot of stories to share.

When Ramona called to them, he quickly came to listen to what she wanted say.

Arken agrees with Jora's words and nods with a smile when he hears her words.

He goes to bed early, to have plenty of sleep, because enough sleep and a comfortable bed is something they will not get for a long time.

Arken drops his backpack in his room and joins the rest of the crew, buying some meals and drinks and enjoying the small talk.

"Thank you for the opportunity! I will not waste it." Arken leaves the citadel and takes some time to see the city, before asking for direction and heading to Shining Sea Inn.

"Hello." Arken smiles broadly to whoever meets the visitors. "Mr. Smedrik told me to come here."

"I have experience in forests, and have read about jungles and rain-forests, so in a couple of days I'll be at home. As for the organizing expeditions part - well, I've put together a group once to explore some ruins. Social stuff isn't exactly my forte, but it went well enough - me and another guy kept it together for the whole time. I won't lie - it was probably the hardest task I've ever done."

"My name's Arken Wazyr. I was born in River Kingdoms. I never really received any formal education, but I know my way around ruins, caves and wilderness - adventuring does that to you. This expedition is a great opportunity to continue doing what I do best - delve into unknown and explore."

Arken sighs and joins the line. It's only to be expected. I hope it won't be too long.

Arken doesn't try to hide his fascination when he sees the hundred feet long ship. He stares at it all the way to the docks.

At the docks he sticks to others who try to find who to talk to about the expedition and makes his own inquiries.

Diplomacy(Gather Information): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Arken bids the Venture Captain and the others farewell and returns to the inn where he stopped, his backpack still lying safely in the room. He checks everything, stashes his wayfinder deeper in the backpack and in a few minutes leaves the inn and makes his way to the docks.

He quickly boards the ship and settles down - there's some time until they reach Almas, might as well get comfortable.

"Perfectly clear," nods Arken. Full of jitters, huh?

"How often should we report our findings when we there? Or would you rather not risk it, and receive our journals after our return?"

The Test:
Arken answers the barrage of questions as best as he can.
"I took part in a couple of expeditions to search for some historical artifacts. Can't say I was the best member of this venture, but I did my part. I know a bit of everything - arcane runes, underground monsters, exotic plants, you just ask. That helps with examining what we find in ruins."

He describes his experiences of the few adventures and expeditions he was in. Especially the parts where they kept Arken on his feet during the whole time - be it a rival team, time-limit or dangerous beasts following the group. This part included answers to the most questions, as it dealt with problems, work, team and dealing with difficult persons. The last one actually an often occurence among adventurers and the like.

He feels confident that he is qualified to be accepted on this Expedition because he had various experiences in delving into ruins and cave systems.

As the last question is asked, Arken thinks for a moment. "Because this expedition is one in a million chance to study an ancient civilization. I'd be a fool not to seize a chance to become a part of history."

Arken leaves the room satisfied, and hangs around a bit for some time, before going back to his room in a nearby inn.

"Can't argue with that." Arken looks up at Xarann and grins in return. "I already feel much safer. Surely the colonists will too."

"Still, that's a lot of competition. I wonder how many they will take?"

Prologue:
"Of course! Arken Wazyr, at your service."

As they head toward the Skyreach, Arken looks around, interested in the folk who wants to go on an expedition. One person in particular caught his eye - a massive human in a hat, who also looks around. Xarann.

"Hey there! Came to join the expedition too?" asks the plumekith and immediately waves his hand. "Stupid question, of course you are. Name's Arken, nice to meet you."

He extends his hand.

Prologue:
Although the trip to Absalom was a lengthy one, it was an informative one - he met some interesting people on his way here. And the Absalom itself is something that every Pathfinder should visit at some point of their life - a grand city, always restless and where someone constantly is busy doing something.

And now he is finally here. The place where his story will truly begin. Every choice and every decision he made, they all were for this. For becoming a part of something greater. For continuing the legacy.

So many agents! Well, that's not a surprise. It's one in a lifetime opportunity. While he thinks that, Arken walks to the podium with confidence and firm intention of becoming a part of this expedition. Some of them will be my companions. I'd better take a good look.

Wow, three tables, in addition to all the other games you run. That's crazy. I'm struggling with managing even one game I run for my friends.

Here's Madcaster's soulknife with the crunch for Arken, a feathery scion of Escobar Vellian. The fluff's in progress, and will be added in a couple of days.

Here goes Oden, Aasimar sorcerer. I didn't went through all 10-minute points, though.

Spoiler:

Appearance: Oden has long silvery hair, tied in a bun and skin just slightly more pale, than that of an average human. He is of slim build, and his eyes are bright blue. There is a complex black tattoo on the right side of his face.

Write five things about your character’s concept and background.

1) Oden was born in a family of the local alchemist. It is no surprise, that he knows quite a bit about making alchemical substances.

2) In his childhood, he was spending a lot of time reading his father's books. They were mostly arcane tomes about magical creatures, potions and spells.

3) After the awakening of his powers, Oden began to practice it every time he got the opportunity. Sometimes it ended up in stuff broken, other times he couldn't even tell what exactly happened. How many times he spilled acid on his skin, he could never count. But, surprisingly, he never ever burned himself with it.

4) Eilifa made a great impression on him. So great, in fact, that he began showing interest in music, which he never did before. Oden bought a flute, and tortured everyone around him for nearly a year, before he finally learned to play the thing. He likes to supplement his tunes with some minor magic tricks he knows - smal wind blowing, dust flying around slowly, all these little things.

5) When he was seventeen, he was thinking about obtaining a familiar for some time already, as a lot of mages do. He never really liked birds or dogs, but was fond of wild animals, like foxes and wild cats. Oden didn't really understood how to get a mage's companion, but he figured that if he would follow his instinct, everything would be fine, so young man went to the forest, searching for some animal, which would catch his eye. After a few hours he bumped into a beatiful fox. It wasn't cautious, surprisingly. Oden mechanically reached to the head of the creature. He felt a warm wave coming from his fingertips all the way through his body. That's when he got himself Kimi.

List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game.

1) Oden wants to find out the truth about his brother disappearance.
2) Oden always fancied the stories about heroes. He wouldn't mind to become one of those.

Describe three memories that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.

1) Oden distinctly remembers the awakening of his powers. One late evening, a pack of wild dogs cornered him in of the alleyways. He was frightened, and dogs could feel it. Once they bored barking, one of them jumped at him. He tried to defend himself with his arms, when he felt a strong surge of power. A fountain of different colors sprang from his hands, and next thing he knew - dogs were lying unconscious on the ground, whimpering.

2) When he closes his eyes and plays on his flute, he likes to go back to the memories of the bard, who once came to the town. Eilifa, that was her name, had so many stories to tell, so many knowledge to share. Oden could have listened for hours to her deep, calm voice, accompanied by the sound of a mandoline.

3) Oden remembers vividly his last fight with brother. Usually, they would forget about it in a day or two, since Oden and Gwen were inseperable, and quarrels between siblings are not unusual. But that particular argument Oden regrets more than anything, because that was the last time he saw his brother. Gwen was never found in the village surroundings, and no message was received from him. Oden doesn't know what happened to his brother.
