Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

While the others explore the room, Antheia pulls out her book once more and begins reading again.

"This room...should be our safe point."

Antheia gazes down and considers the circumstances. Deciding to follow the group, she casts Guidance on herself, while whispering a brief prayer, and descends the rope.

Climb Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

If a 19 is sufficient for a safe decent...:

Antheia looks around immediately. "This...is disgusting.", was the only statement she had regarding the goo. She set about to place Guidance on each party member who reached the bottom safely, fortunately managing to remain stoic and emotionless, despite her verbal disagreement with her surroundings.

You have +1 to a single d20 roll of your choice, made within the next minute in-game.

If a 19 is sufficient for a partial decent, but isn't for a full decent...:

Keeping a firm grasp on the rope, Antheia continues to work her way down slowly. Her face didn't show signs of strain or worry, but it was certain she must have been feeling something.

Climb Check: 1d20 ⇒ 6

If a 19 isn't sufficient for a safe decent, or the partial decent also fails...:

Antheia, losing grasp of the rope, immediately attempts to try and maneuver herself to land properly, and safety roll if needed.

Acrobatic Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

There was a somewhat small chance that she would fail, but it was worth a shot in her mind, and if anything, the goo should cushion the landing a smidgen if her attempted techniques did not.

Antheia continues to peer over the edge, waiting to see what happens. Should the rest go down, she'd follow.

"You can likely pull it open. If that doesn't work...hit it with something."

Antheia remains in the dark as far as what is going on, but assumes something has called the insides of the pipe it's home.

She moves a safe distance away from anything that may jump out of it, and casts Bless instead, to Bless the entire party, holding her book up high.

Each of you gets a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects for the next minute.

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Antheia notices the others scrambling all of a sudden, but cannot decipher why right off the bat.

"What happened?"

Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

Antheia, now wearing the amulet, sees that nothing happens to her, and is marginally disappointed. Nonetheless, she quietly sits and listens to the others decide their rope shenanigans. Hearing that they may want it attached to the door, she replied with feeling...by which I mean there was none.

"I'll take care of it."

Antheia moved then to grab the loose end of the rope on Orvan's side and tie it to the door's handle (or other similar and suitable location if a door handle isn't present) with a double constrictor knot. The most secure knot she learned from moving heavy items during her time spent with the Dwarves, she tightened it just enough to allow her to slip a finger in it, so she could undo it when they finished. The knot would hold as long as the rope did, and surely the rope could support the Small Gunpowder Tube Carrier.

"Yes, as the Magical Elf Person said, plunging into a slough of slimy substances and materials is a particularly egregious idea. This slimy substance now encasing my armor in various locations is revolting enough, and we do not need more of it. Be wary of the rest of the slimy substances moving or not. If they begin to do so, we should best prepare for a hasty engagement."

Big words aside, the otherwise Human child (whose height is surely going to be stunted somewhat by the distant Dwarf heritage in her) showed no particular expression that approved or disapproved of anything she said, or anything the party was doing. Rather, she cast a spell and carved an Arcane Mark into the Torch, inscribing but two words in Dwarven Language: My Torch

Underneath it, she inscribed another phrase: Do Not Touch

Then, Antheia equipped the amulet they found.

Antheia receives the torch, and gives Anevia a quizzed glance before taking a few swings with the torch, as if testing it as a weapon.

She reapplied Guidance as well to anyone whom used it up.

Antheia takes the necklace off the man, or at least makes the best gosh darned attempt she can. If she succeeds, she pockets the jewelry, and turns to face the thud on the door.

Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

Antheia walks over to the slime, and reaches into it to see about searching the man for goods.

Brave little soul.

"You are all lacking in courage.", she stated as she waded in unfazed. Searching the body, she sees if anything could possibly be looted.

Taking 10 on the associated Perception Check, and applying her Guidance bonus. She's devoted here. So her roll would total 14 for the purposes of identifying what is on the man's person that could be looted after all her modifiers are added in.

Antheia looks over the slime carefully to see if the substance is currently showing signs of moving.

Perception Check to identify if the slime is moving or not.: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Pretty sure a 4 fails, so I'll reply as such.

Seeing nothing moving (for now), and, hearing Strangways' comment, Antheia immediately considered replying to him (for the benefit of the entire party, if not for her own personal put down of another and the amusement it creates)...

[dice=Knowledge: Dungeoneering to spew off her excessive knowledge of the difference between "slime" as a substance and the monster composed of it that is called an "ooze".]1d20 + 7[/dice]

I'll assume a 22 passes...but I'll spoiler her reply anyways just in case.

If success...:

...and went through with it. However, she spoke with all the liveliness of a rock, the voice remaining monotone and decidedly dull, and her expression serious and neutral (almost permanently so). Both her eyes were unblinking, as they were fixed on Strangways.

"I can elaborate, "Magical Elf Person". Since it isn't currently moving, as far as I can tell, it is, if we use proper terminology, therefore, "slime". If it took on life, and became a moving, and instinctual, monster, then we call it an "ooze". This is a vital difference, as one is mostly harmless, short of taking a bath in it, and the other one actively seeks to kill you, because "tasty snack" is the only thing it thinks of when it sees you.

I hope I explained it properly. Words and long descriptions are hard for me to use regularly, despite their usefulness..."

If failure...:

...but then reconsidered the act, and therefore, did not speak her mind on the subject.

Antheia then refreshes the Guidance effect on anyone whom it has expired on, making sure she keeps herself ready to cast spells should the real need arise.

For everyone's reference, Guidance lasts for 1 minute, and can be expended to add a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. Remember though, you must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it will apply. She can cast it as often as she likes, so go ahead and use it for different skill checks, and she can refresh it when she notices the magic expire (in character, she is alerted by a flaring pain in her yellow eye as it glows).

Antheia was cold and steely; Kieran's joke essentially having no real effect on her. In fact, she took it literally.

"I don't see any bread to make us a sandwich..."

She did however take this opportunity to cast a small Guidance spell on everyone. As a basic elementary spell for a lot of studies (especially in Divine fields), she could readily cast it freely with enough memorization. She did not hide its Divine nature yet. No need for that among fellow adventurers.

Each of you has Guidance cast upon you at Caster Level 1.

Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

Antheia stayed to the rear, placing her book in a small slot for it at her side (thanks to belts and all). She however, did not pull out her weapon, unlike the others, although, she clearly did have the largest weapon by far, her earth breaker almost as big as she was. She seemed to have little trouble carrying it though. "Proceed with caution...the presence of this slime-like substance is a sign of sure danger..."

Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

"My help would serve no purpose. My level of assisting skills does not extend to shoving doors down like a barbarian. However, should you wound yourselves trying to shove it, I'll patch what I can."

She stood and watched the ones who decided to push the door with great care.

Female Human Cleric (Hidden Priest, Separatist) of Magic 1 - HP: 8 / 8 - AC: 14 (T: 11 / F: 13) - Fort: 1 / Ref: 1 / Will: 5

While silent on the way down, at the bottom, Antheia immediately took note of the green fluid...

Knowledge: Dungeoneering (to identify if this substance is related to a slime of some kind): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

...and responded to Kieran.

If success...:

"It must be related to the slimes the Deep-Marshall mentioned. The...(disgusting) fluid...matches a common consistency and color that is shared among many a slime...although, I could be mistaken..."

She had no real indication of being afraid, intrigued, excited, or in any way fazed by the development, but looked slightly to the left with her trademark neutral face.

If failure...:

"I myself am unsure of what it is...or its origin...it has a very familiar consistency and color however. I also do not know of what it could match..."

She perhaps was disappointed at her lack of knowledge, not that anyone could tell easily, but nonetheless did not really respond to the rather poor conditions of their room.

Antheia was completely silent as she listened to the others speak. She was currently however reading a modest blue book that read "The God of Magic" on the side. The text inside of it was smaller than it needed to be, but she flipped the pages at about one every twelve seconds, clearly grasping whatever she was reading about.

She had her leather armor on, her clerical vestments safely stowed in her backpack. The armor itself seemed to be tailored to her, and was quite fitting. Given her size meant she was only taller than the Gnome, normal armors would've needed to be tailored anyways. Her hair was not quite to her waist, but close, and it was a bright, pale blonde.

Strapped to her back was a large metal hammer almost as big as her, and it seemed to have markings inscribed on it in Dwarven language. She also had what could only be called a Holy Symbol.

When Strangways finished his comment, Antheia looked up at him, having stopped her reading. Assuming he made eye contact in return, he'd easily note Antheia's very obvious heterochromia; right eye yellow, left eye blue.

"We'll see diseased, slimy, built, death awaiting us, guarding something that may or may not have value of any kind..."

Her voice was monotone, and her facial expression had no change whatsoever, giving no obvious clues as to her tone or intent behind the comment. She turned back to her book and continued reading as she finished her piece however.

"...it is most clear that you have been listening to the Deep-Marshall."

Got her stats put up. Now, for an avatar...

So, her alt is here.

Antheia just needs her statblock, which will go up today at some feasible point. Thanks for getting me in.
