M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Sorry guys. Life's getting a bit complicated with work/family right now.

I gotta drop my games. Can't give them sufficient time that they deserve. Sorry.

Never question yer bravery brother. We been together in every scrap since birth. But I'm always trying t'find out bout what it means t'be a dwarf. Every history I ever read speaks o the ill that's been wrought on the world by them wizards an their magic. Our people ain't never had much talent fer such things. I know yer doin somethin different an honestly if I were to imagine a dwarf magic user, I'd prefer one who still swings an axe as well as ye. Just, what yer doin scares me where it might take ye.

I got no doubt ye can do what ye say brother. Ye be smarter n most an I ain't ne'er heard o the dwarf that could cast them arcane spells. Just ain't right is all. I'll stand wit ye always but this talkin to yer weapon when ye think no one's lookin an y'know just, using bat sh!t and whatnot. Magic is a crutch cooked up by elves and humans without an arm or stomach ferreal fighting. Yer better n that is all I'm saying. Ye'd be a damn good fighter if ye focused on it or maybe even an inquisitor if ye had a bit more faith an jus picked a god already.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus looks to Grax, who as usual had his head in his damn book, King Me. Ye might win occasionally if ye'd put that down. I swear, soon ye'll be fightin wit it in hand.

Angus watches his brother depart. Tonight went well, Pai, don't ye doubt. We did our job and we all got to learn a valuable lesson without anybody payin fer it wit blood. Let's just remember it, from now on.

He follows after his brother and heads off to sleep. ....Talkin to is weapon again....

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Bah, the night could a gone a lot worse. We'll take our licks an move on, don't worry about the pair o ye!

Angus returns to his room, glad the shift was over and besides the small incident with Pilts, it went well.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Aye, weren't assested. Merely detained fer a bit. Soon as we worked out the actor was fine, Mr Pilts there was immediately released. The man's play were quite convincin, a compliment to the mans production. In any case, Mr Pilts, if e's of a mind to tell the truth will attest at no time were he informed o being under arrest. We merely had him accompany us t'see to his actors well bein' he weren't detained not longer than 5minutes Max.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Almost arrested Pilts, on account o the king back there looking real dead, but he ain't. Didn't arrest him but he's sooking bout it anyway. Ye got anythin else we need t'stay here for?

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Apologies Pilts. Looks like her perductions are real enough to fool the crowd. Her free to go.
C'mon, Pai. Leave the Men to their evenin and we'll talk on the value o lookin fer a life beat.

Arcane pool is a swift action and lasts only a minute. You can pop it and cast in round1. Just sayin;)

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus nods his head. He continues walking into the room the king lay.
Worm, ye be under arrest. Ye'll hafta make yer case before the Magistrate.

He grabs the man (or uses Manacles if they were issued) and assists his brother, first tearing some cloth from the furniture and gags him and ties his wrists.

Whatever spells ye wish te cast, do it now. Not likely his goons er t'let the boss go easy.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus stands in front of his brother as they walk through the door with the snake.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Aye. Ye should be stayin put. Once we see yer king is fine an dandy, we'll be off. Just another moment.

Angus keeps a mental count in his head on the duration of his spell. Hopefully it was still up if Pai returned with bad news.

What me brother said. Our cause is believing that guy could be hurt or kilt. Now if e's alive and fine, shouldn't be no trouble fer ye t let us talk t'the man. That's plenty. Now let us see im.

Surprise. Duncan casts Divine Favor.

Well that be workin out just fine. See we be STAFF o' the city. We wanna check on the Actors from the play, since the performance was so convincing we be a bit worried about their, health an safety. That means this be official business. Now you lads goñna let us do our duty or ye gonna be getting in the way. If everything's all right back there, there's no problem. What's it gonna be?

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Duncan surveys the crowd and can't spot the snake anywhere.
He approaches Goldfist and Graxlo, keeping his voice low, Can't spot that worm about. Should we head backstage and check out if that actor is all right? Couldn't see any worry on his face in the play, but that don't mean his wounds weren't real. Them weapons were real enough. Got a sick feelin bout this.

Angus makes his circuit of the place and does well to hide his disgust.
As a former acolyte of Imodae and Inquisitor of Ragathiel such perversions were abhorrent to his eyes. Sadly such practice was legal in Korvosa so long as the appropriate taxes were paid. He was careful to keep and eye on the 'performers'. If anything was done against the will of any of the 'actors' he would take issue. Sordid though they were, vice taxes did not permit rape or murder. The performance was supposed to be staged and those involved willing participants. If would speak to the actors to assuage his fears.

He says as much to the slime ball running the place.
If anything happens yer actors ain't agreeable to ye'll have more trouble than ye could buy yer way out of.

Duncan wasn't surprised at he and his brother being picked by a fellow dwarf. If anything could ever be assumed about his people, it's that they were dependable. Goldfist no doubt wanted the recruits he was most likely able to count on. What he wasn't happy about was being broken up from the rest of the little group they'd formed. He learned the strengths and weaknesses of those he normally trained with and this new grouping meant the mission was not an ideal scenario.

Not that what he thought mattered. Goldfist was in charge and was the senior guardsman, so what reservations Angus had, he'd keep to himself. Graxlo would be there and that was what REALLY mattered. He kept to his routine and when the time came was ready to go....

Yes. This happened once before. I was in a game with GM Idyll but things got too hectic.
I am for giving him a few more days. Then if we need to we could advertise for a new GM. But give him some more time first.

Think of it this way, brother. Them theives and cutpurses gonna be carrying stuff don't belong to em. Ye getting paid ta do a good thing steada hanging around churchmen all day and ya get ta crack skulls o' folk who deserve it. Ain't a bad way ta get coin fer yer spells, aye?

With that thought, Angus gives Graxlo a brotherly slap on the back and jumps in line as the sergent calls FORM UP!

Fort DC 10: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Angus easily wakes up at the morning interruption and breezes through morning calisthenics

Climb DC 10: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 1 = 6

He overextended himself a bit though and fell on his ass during the climb. Hurting his hand with the fall...

Strength DC 5: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Which affected his grip on the strength course. A gentle massage and wrapping the hand to support his fingers helped a lot.

Attack Ranged AC 10:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Melee Attack AC 10: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Which allowed him to perform well on the melee and ranged combat stands.

Reflex DC 10: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The balance beam was beyond him, but he didn't mind. Dwarves weren't acrobats anyway.

Fort DC 12: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus nods as the man leaves and stands for Pai.
He speaks to Graxlo in

Dwarven:
Magus then. Stick to yet fightin' magic at least please. Yer new friend has a trickster's look about her.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus rolls his eyes. True to form Graxlo didn't dance about polite talk. He goes back to his bowl. Me bothers a fine warrior but thinks e's a wizard. Reckon the wean mother dropped im once or twice but he CAN do magic. I prefer steel but ever works right?

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus responds first. Imodaen ye said eh? Sad t'say I never seen ye at the temple of Many. That don't mean much I guess. Big city after all. I be Angus and this ere's me younger brother Graxlo. We were living with the Imodaens there fear most o our lives, but time to forge our own path now, so here we are

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus sits down and enjoys his fare. One great thing about mess food, simple fare, but there was plenty of it. Angus was sure to ear fill.

He looks about the table to his remaining squad mates.
Don't believe we had the time t'chat while we were all getting yelled at. And ye names are?

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus keeps his voice low, DC 15

Dwarven:
This lot're t'be our fellows and squad mates. Makin em look bad on the first day ain't gonna make us any friends. Just stay with the pack a bit. We can distinguish ourselves AFTER we have a few buddies. Eh?

Angus gives Graxlo a pat, then jumps back into training before any drill sergeants see them speaking. He makes a show of effort but largely stays at the back of the group, helping the weaker recruits get up when their minds make them think their bodies were spent. He wasn't one to leave anybody behind.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Melee Attack1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Strength Check1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Ranged Attack1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Fort Save1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Duncan spent the better portion of the day going through the motions. Even looking a bit underdone. He'd been raised by the church of Imodae and knew full well how training camps worked. They needed to be broken down as a group before being built back up again. Front runners and showoffs would only be targeted harder and he and Graxlo REALLY needed to blend in right now. The guard were (hopefully) less likely to judge his brother harshly for his arcane dallying if they were 'one of the boys' so to speak.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus acknowledges the accuracy the newcomers words. Never one to be too downcast however, Bah, ya can get any stone t'shine. Just needs t'be cut and polished right. Even rocks can turn to diamonds with enough pressure, it ye get me meaning. I doubt yeself emerged a warrior from the womb? Ye were trained a bit, I bet
He offers a wink.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus smiles at his brothers (late) arrival.
Glad t'see our Dwarven Honor still holds strong. Was worried ye might make good on yer threat t'skip town with his boys eyeballs. Good that yer here, from the looks this lot could use some experienced warriors anyway.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

Angus entered the courtyard to find a large procession of Mostly humans and.a few other of the common races. As he expected, the vast majority were NOT fighting men, but rather those poor and unfortunate enough to NEED to enlist as a means of improving their sorry lot. Here and there was one or two that owned good weapons and possessed of strong arms to wield them. The was one human, clad in worn Chainmail who at least LOOKED like he knew which end of a sword to put into a foe.

The Dwarf noticed many of the young eyes looking his way. Not surprising. He'd arrived with all his worldly possessions in a stuff sack and wearing the armor and weapons one would expect of a Dwarf. Fine Steel Breastplate, Battle axe, Warhammer among others. A small steel buckler strapped to his left forearm. He could well have been an instructor and truth be told, given the appearance of his fellows, he would no doubt be showing a few people how to grip a weapon.

He looked around but saw no sign of his brother.
Fine mess...get us kicked outta home and probably skip town while ye brother pays the toll.

M Dwarf Witchunter Inquisitor (Init +1,AC18, F4/R1/W4+5vs spls/poison, HP10) Witchunter Inquisitor

I get teamwork feats for free and can swap 'em as a standard action.

I have found Bastard sword/Buckler to be a wonderful combo.

Vs Mooks I 2 hand it for better damage (suck -1 to hit from buckler, no shield bonus)
When I need to Tank. Stand near a buddy and go 1h sword + shield.
