I've heard hat the alleyway fight can be deadly. We seemed to handle it pretty well.

I think some of the oddities can be attributed to its age. It is a relatively early module designed to introduce all the factions. The sequel(s) I can't recall if there was more than one introduced more factions that have been retired. Maybe it would have worked better if we could have seen the whole thing.

Or it all could have had the same sort of forced feeling to it. *shrug*

This was my first PFS game, it was pretty good. A lot of its issues are pretty common with PbP games that I have seen. Thank you for running a great game.

Anelara sees the watch approach and replies to their question. "We were jumped by these ruffians. There was one more, but he ran. We were just about to go looking for you."

"We were attacked on our way back here. One was a worshipper of Norgorber."

Anelara pulls a rope from her pack. "Let's tie them up. Then we can turn them in to the authorities and maybe find out why they attacked us."

Anelara pulls a vial from her pouch and drinks from it while trying to locate the source of the mocking voice.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Standard action to drink her true strike extract. Move action to attempt to locate using Perception.

Anelara steps up between Mekhu and Illuthion (Lockwood please), drawing her bow, and fires an arrow towards the last known location of the halfling's mustache.

Ranged attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Miss chance (1-50 misses): 1d100 ⇒ 72
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Anelara looks at the greasy little man with some confusion. "As well as can be expected. When did you say you'd expected that shipment? It seemed that it had been there quite some time."

Anelara looks down into the water. "There's also that boat outside. If anyone knows how to use it, we could get it under the chest. Just to be safe y'know."

From her perch upon the barrels, Anelara watches as another rat joins the first biting at Illuthion. She swings her sword at this newcomer.

Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5 High ground
Longsword Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Can someone move me to between Illuthion and Mekhu? Thanks.

Seeing the rat run up to Illuthion and bite him, Anelara drops her pack and hops up on the crates to attack it.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

She swings her sword that the rat.

Longsword Attack: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6 high ground
Longsword Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

As it gets the light begins to fade, Anelara pulls a small chain from a pocket with a matched pair of rings on it. She holds it up and it begins to glow like a torch.

Casting Light As a spell-like ability.

"Ok, I was wrong. Those are giant rats, not guard dogs. Yuck."

Hearing Noises from within, Anelara speaks up. "We should be careful as we enter, it sounds like there may be a guard dog." She draws her sword and prepares to enter.

Seeing the decrepit state of the warehouse, Anelara wonders why anyone would store anything of value in it. She gives the door a once over, looking for anything amiss before suggesting that Mekhu use the key he found.

Perception (looking for traps): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Anelara nods, "While child labor is problematic, the children are not being harmed and some do seem to enjoy it. As child labor goes, this is far from the harmful slavery that it could be."

"On the other hand. I got the feeling that there was something else going on with the sick children and the medicines, but could find nothing to prove it. That concerns me more."

Looking in wonder at the curiosities in the shop, Anelara nearly misses the conversation with the shop keeper. "Ah, yes I'm sure we can find what you've stored there."

I think I'm out of ideas this time. Time to move on.

So, when do we meet Rooster? This encounter reminds me horribly of little orphan Annie ;)
Not that I'm complaining.

Continuing to talk with the children, Anelara asks about the sick kids. "Are there often kids too sick in bed to go out and do chores?"

"Sparkly bubbles you say? That sounds wonderful. Can you tell me more?"

As Mekhu and Kiri continue to as questions of "Auntie" Baltwin, Anelara stands up, "Pardon me, I'll go get some more tea."

She wanders off and tries to engage some of the children working on chores. "It's always good to have a clean home. She kneels down to assist in washing a floor. "Do you like it here? Better than living on the street, isn't it?"

Slightly offended at the overt racist comments, Anelara hangs towards the back of the group as they enter the orphanage. She also keeps an eye out for anything amiss.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Taking 10 on the Heal check for a 12.

"So, you look to have had a somewhat rough life. Can you tell us how long you've been running the Home here?" If only our group included a healer, we could take a look at Billy and see how he's doing.

Anelara replies to the servant, "Are small glass of wine if you would be so kind."

As she waits for the servant to return with their refreshments, Anelara sits and thinks. "I think Dara may be correct in our expected course of action. Once we have rested a bit, we should go see the priestess."

Anelara cleans off her sword, then picks up the new key. Its design matches the Red Lacquered Chest, so she starts there first. The key fits the lock and with a twist the chest opens. Inside is a jeweled scepter with a key on the end.

"I wonder if this one will work in the steel banded chest?"

"We do have two locked chests and two other containers. It is possible that there is a second key in that basket with the snake." Anelara also draws her sword and prepares to ward off the snake if it makes it past Kiri.

Anelara takes off her backpack and sets it down a few feet from Mekhu. As she rummages through it she looks disdainfully at the overly petulant half-elf.
"Some of what we do is dangerous, like the traps in this room, but we also must face dangers of other kinds, like the imp. None of us were injured and it did gauge how we might have to think on our feet."

She pulls a similar roll of tools from her bag and gets ready to assist Mekhu. "Ready when you are."

"Be careful, the stuff in that jar looks like it may actually be an acid. I'd guess that key probably opens one of the chests. If not both."

Anelara turns to Mekhu. "I think one of is will need to try to take care of the trap on that steel chest. Would you like first crack?"

"Um, I believe it was 4707, by Prince Khamet. If I am remembering correctly. It had been a part of Qadira before that. They claim that the ancient Osirian gods lived among them and that their treasures and arcane formulas might still be found."

"Very well, we should be on our way." Anelara looks sadly at the wall beside the chaise. Never did get to see what was in there. Ah well.

She turns and curtsies to the Paracountess. "Thank you for your time. Perhaps we will get a chance to talk some other time."

Anelara sets the jar of blotting sand and the empty glitter jar back on the desk. "Thank you Mistress Dralneen."

She turns to her teammates, "Thanks, I know I'm not the swordsman that Kiri is, but I had to do something to help."

Turning back to Mistress Zarta, "Is there anything we can do to help clean up in there?"

The only weapon I have right now is body glitter. And while Kreuvus may die of embarrassment, I think I'll have to take that chance

Anelara listens to the events in the other room. She nods to Zarta as she sweaps up the two jars and hurries after her teammates, pocketing the blotting sand. She stops in between Kiri and Illuthion. "Let's see you try that again." She prepares to blow glitter onto the imp if he attempts to disappear again.

Sometimes the action economy does not work in one's favor. :(

Anelara takes a moment to look around the room for something that might be useful. Spotting several items, she moves over to Zarta's desk. "Pardon me, but I think we may need these. Please forgive us Ms. Dralneen. Erm, Paracountess." She says reaching for two jars on the desk.

If she has any time, she will pick up both the blotting sand and the body glitter.

While waiting for Mekhu's post I have a few questions about the lay of the land.
Is Zarta sitting behind a writing desk? If so, does she have some blotting powder/sand?
How much of the scattered make-up is powdered and can it be easily gathered?

Fin looks about the office in awe. "It is a cincere pleasure to meet you Paracountess Dralneen."

<Post 4>

As the cacophony interrupts their meeting Fin speaks up. "And some are considered too dangerous or powerful NOT to be locked up in a box. If that box happens to be the Society vaults. Where we know they won't be used for harm." She shudders momentarily at the thought of harmful artifacts. She reaches down and grasps a pair of rings on a fine chain attached to her belt. Then she sighs and releases them.

"Wow, that large man was a priest. You never can tell about people, can you?" Fin shakes her head. "They say Osirian is a beautiful place. Never actually been there myself, read lots of books about it though." She says with a smile at the little Gnome. She kneels down and offers a hand Daraquax. "It is a pleasure meeting a fellow bookworm. I think we will be good friends little Dara."

For this game Garr has been replaced by Fin. A bit friendlier of a character. :)
Inspired by Warehouse 13.

Anelara waits while quietly as Valsin gives them the rundown. She looks over the page eagerly. Once outside she seems anxious to get started.

"Um, hi. I'm Anelara Findaelyra, but most people simply call me Fin." She speaks awkwardly and perhaps a little too loudly. As if she is unused to talking to people. "Actually, I think we should start with the Paracountess. Who know what that item from the vaults might do. It could be dangerous if it gets in the wrong hands."

I'm looking at a busy weekend, might only be able to get one or two posts in. Weekdays are much easier. Looking forward to this one.

@Mekhu, We have fairly different builds. There's some overlap, but we also each cover some areas that the other doesn't.
