I found it. Must have missed it. It could also mean that they are related in the sense that Eiseth used to be what Ragathiel is now ("once an Empyreal Lord of righteous wrath and punishment").

Where does the the whole "Eiseth and Ragathiel used to be/are in a
relationship" come from?

The only place where they are mention together are in Book of The
Damned Princes of Darkness. The only thing there is it's said that
Eiseth used to be an Empyreal Lord of righteous wrath and kin to
Ragathiel (perhaps not literally).

Nothing of this relationship shows up in Ragathiel's writeup
in Chronicles of The Righteous or Bestiary 6.

It is starting to confuse me. Is it in a book I have not read yet?

Well Archdevils in Golarion are often named after mythological figures(Dispater, Moloch).

And I know who Typhon in Greek mythology is. But this thread is about the Golarion Archdevil named Typhon so discuss the son of Gaia somewhere else.

Baa baa Yaga: If Typhon is a pretender to his name does that mean Dispater and Moloch are pretenders to theirs? After all Dispater is the name of a Roman deity and Moloch a Canaanite god.

Huh. I did not expect this many replies.

Chemlak is probably right.

I just remembered a thread on this forum about the Empyreal Lord Ragathiel where one poster basically said "I'm fine with more information on him as long as Paladins of Ragathiel do not have to take the Oath of Chastity." I do not think they would do that. Any thoughts on that?

Well it seems some dictionaries use them interchangeably and others use the chastity= only sex within wedlock, celibacy= no sex ever distinction.

For instance www.newadvent.org/cathen/03637d.htm uses the distinction whilst http://dictionary.reference.com uses them interchangeably.

Some people look younger or older then they really are. Myself got mistaken to be seventeen when I'm twenty. So the art could just be a case of Iomedae looking young for her age.

So I was just looking around on Pathfinder SRD when I saw this Oath.

Unless I remember things wrong chastity is about not having sex before marriage and being faithful to your spouse.

Celibacy is about never having sex ever.

So shouldn't it be Oath of Celibacy?

The former Lord of the First is mentioned in Kobold Quaterly 22 to have been slain by Ragathiel after dallying with Lamashtu.

So I'm wondering:

1. Will there be more information on former Archdevils/Demon Lords/powerful Outsiders in general?

2. What was he Archdevil of? (Mammon being about greed, Belial lust e.t.c)

3. Why did he think it was a good idea to dally with Lamashtu?

4. And why does some believe Ragathiel killed him because of the urging/scheming of Asmodeus?

If you don't know who Mawhougav is he is a shemhazian demon who managed to stray into the lower heavens and has spent 600 years distracted by a band of lantern archons.

Now my question is; why haven't some archons/angels destroyed/chased him out?

Since we seem to be talking about fallen Empyreal Lords:

1. Apparently they don't lose their power when they fall.
2. So the Archdevils(excepting those created in hell). Where they all Empyreal Lords or just angels of high standing?
3. Wonder what Shemhazai's Alignment is/was.

Perhaps it will be made clearer when Chronicle of the Righteous comes out. Wonder if Shemhazai will get a mention, since he is an Empyreal Lord(unless you lose that if you fall).

It is mentioned in the Pathfinder Bestiary that fallen angels are hunted by their former brethren.

What exactly do they do with the fallen ones when they are caught? Kill them, try to redeem them or throw them in a prison?

I like the idea of smacking around my enemies with a heavy mace. So I think Dispater is the way to go.

I'm currently checking Pathfinder wiki. Dispater sounds interesting and gives the Evil, Law, Nobility, Trickery and his favored weapon is the heavy mace. Is this a good choice?

Thanks for all the advice. I do think I will be picking Cleric, it's the class I'm most familiar with. So the character will now be angel blooded LE Aasimar Cleric of (insert deity here). I'm not entirely certain which god to go for yet. Any suggestions?

It's starting to get late where I am so I'm logging of now. I will not be posting replies until tomorrow. Just so that you know.

So I rolled up some stats at Invisible Castle. These are the numbers I got without any racial modifiers:

14, 11, 12, 14, 12, 13.

So which stats are most important for an Oracle/Cleric/Summoner?
And I think I will be going with Angel Blooded. That's a bonus to CHA and CON right?
As for the Whore Queens, Eiseth and Doloras seems most interesting at the moment. Depending if the character should be more indifferent or wrathful against the divine.

So does anybody know any online game thats recruiting? If I finish this character I might be interested in joining.

And what kind of backstory would be most interesting? A fall from grace, something like Ardent mentioned or something else?

And how does an Oracle play in comparison to a Cleric?

As for alternative Aasimar heritages I don't have preferences either. Mostly because you probably should discuss that with the GM first. Not that this character will actually see play.

I live in this small town and as far as I know I'm the only one interested in this kind of games. So I have never actually played in a game before. This might change in the future. But I have this habit of making and stating up characters for games I'm interested in.

So I don't have any kind of preferences. Feel free to suggest any combination. I might try to join an online game.

And I kinda like the Cleric class. I usually chose it in computer games like Neverwinter Nights. So if I chose Cleric what deity would you recommend?

So after seeing an abundance of good Tieflings I decided to make an evil Aasimar. At first Antipaladin seemed like a good choice but the Chaotic Evil alignment is not what I had in mind.

So what class do you think would be great for an evil Aasimar? As long as the class allows Neutral/Lawful Evil I have no preferences.

Thanks for the answer. I was wondering because I was making an evil Aasimar(after seeing all the good Tieflings) and thought Antipaladin would be a good class. But a raving lunatic is not what I had in mind so I just have to pick some other class.

Opposite to Paladins? Maybe I have a narrow view of Chaotic Evil but wouldn't that make the majority raving lunatics? Since that seems what Chaotic Evil is about. And where in the forum does this question belong? I only started posting on Tuesday this week, so I'm new to this forum.

So I'm wondering why they have to be Chaotic Evil. Lawful Evil seems like a better fit to me. And why the name Antipaladin? I mean DnD usually called this kind of class Blackguards.

According to Pathfinder Wiki Feronia is a Neutral demigoddes of fertility, sacred fires and wildfire. It's mentioned in Princes of Darkness that she left Hell when Ragathiel was a baby.

Given that she and Dispater divorced on good terms he didn't mind that she left with his son.

4 people marked this as a favorite.

Personally I don't get the appeal of playing in a game when you know you are going to fail ultimately no matter what you do.

Just noticed that on Pathfinder Wiki that Feronia also has bastard sword as a favored weapon. Huh.

So no commentaries?

So I have seen some discussion on Ragathiel's relationship with his father, but what about his mother? She's appearently on good terms with Dispater.

By the way, if Ragathiel was born a fiend would his first alignment have been Lawful Evil?
