Also, I hope I didn't come across as bitter. It's more of a "I can see why people like it, but it's just not for me" type of thing =)

Well, this is sad. It was a very nice experience while it lasted. Thanks everyone, it was a pleasure playing with you all, honestly. Actually, I'm doubly sad because we didn't get to see Gandros in his fully-developed glory.

Regarding chronicles and etc, feel free to skip Aldus' since I will probably be avoiding PFS in the future anyhow!

Aldus raises an incredulous eyebrow when the woman falls to the ground, unconscious. "…she actually left her hiding spot with 5 armed people aiming at her? Perhaps they should stop spending all that money on flails and teach them some strategy," he looks at Dolgarth and shrugs.

The Galtan approaches the woman and shakes the gnome's hand: "I am Aldus and these are my companions, Jak, Nebraska, Dolgarth and Gandros. We are Pathfinders. And we also are extremely happy we got here on time. And you are?" Once the engineer has introduced herself, he nervously looks at Nebraska and then around himself: "Are there any wounded?"

A chill runs down Aldus' spine when he sees the pulpit, his mind travelling back to Galt and the Final Blades. "Weird and terrible, you mean. To think that the killing of people by the state has become a sort of local holiday an that salesmen peddle their wares as blood runs in front of them."

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Aldus is only about knowledge checks in this scenario, apparently

When they reach the Hall of Wonders, the bard welcomes the overwhelming noise and the deep basses that vibrate inside his lungs. He looks at the building for a moment and turns to his companions "I hope the engineers are as easy-going as the painter. Shall we?"

His ruse falters when the man mentions the Crypt of Fools. "I…don't remember much about our nights at the tavern, but I have read about the Crypt. It's a lost graveyard here in Cassomir. The dead buried there were either the worst criminals Taldor or…" the bard stops for a moment as the realisation hits him "…noble families who somehow fell from grace. Like the Teppish. I guess I was right and we'll get to meet another one the noble scions," he says the last words with more than subtle amount of scorn.

Does Aldus' knowledge go as far as knowing where exactly the Crypt lies?

Aldus, familiar with the place due to his reading on imperialist repression, shakes his head at Dolgarth's comment "You are right it's not the worst prison to be in…if you have the gold. The rich can pay for their freedom and whatever favour they wish, whilst the poor are sent to the begging cells where they get sick and die. Why was the cultist sent to this prison in particular?" Before Hestia replies, Aldus jumps in to give a quick run down of the Swift Prison, pre-empting questions his companions might have about it.

A bearded lean Galtan dressed in very unassuming dark clothes with a red armband on his left arm follows Dolgarth's lead and greets the newcomer: "And I am Aldus The Supplicant. Nice to meet you as well."

Aldus sits by Nebraska's side, already on his fifth pint of ale. Born a peasant in a small village, he is as oblivious as the half-elf to the luxuries of life in big cities; thus, he cannot bring himself to refuse any of what is offered to him. Each éclair and cake slice is received with mixed feelings, however. 'This is all so soft and sweet and delicious…am I becoming some sort of pampered noble, who thrives on debauchery whilst people starve in Galt?' the Galtan thinks whilst wiping some cream cheese from his beard.

"I doubt that was the last of them, actually. That derro, it wasn't working alone, and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of these Teppish," he takes another swig, trying to drown some of his thoughts. He muses a bit on Jak's last comment and replies "As long as it's just jumping, yes. But let's see what else they will be asking us if we start turning some heads."

Aldus here, back-liner, ranged, happy stick holder #3 and the other face of the group, as well-explained by Jak. Welcome!

I agree with Giuseppe's points, for what it's worth. Though I hope Aldus and Jak together with Nebraska's wands will be able to provide for some utility (my current spells are silent image and disguise self, btw), elemental damage and AoE are pretty much out of our reach.

@Giuseppe: I realised there's an error on my chronicle (selling shortbow and rapier when I already got their money on the previous sheet). I'll update it tonight and send it again.

@Nebraska: thanks for the campaign mode explanation =)

Edit: mate, that's an amazing list. thanks!

Ok, I've done it. Not sure if everything's in the right place (e.g. day job amount on the items sold column), so let me know if I messed anything up.

Is it just me or was this scenario much shorter and less deadly than the previous one?

@Jak: ha, I was actually looking through the cleric to see if I could make him some sort of crazy revolutionary priest. But I think we'll both get to keep our bards =)

@DM: just to confirm, besides the personal data section (name, etc), we also need to add everything we bought/sold before starting this scenario (e.g. darkwood bow, arrows), but not whatever we buy with the reward from the current scenario, right? On the same subject, should the stuff bought with PP be listed in the same place?

Does running an AP mean we would have to create new characters? Or could we just use these same characters and enter the AP midway? Though I said ideally I would like to keep the same characters, I'd be open for anything that leaves us all happier.

Out of curiosity I searched the PFS Roleplaying guild guide and, on page 11 under Additional playable content, it says:

Quote:
For sanctioned modules and Adventure Paths, GMs are allowed to use their own rules for character creation and running the presented content (the entire book or series). Credit is applied to an appropriate Roleplaying Guild character as if the character created was a pregenerated character.

Though I'm not sure what the character credit part means, it sounds like a good compromise. I'm up for anything, and agree with Nebraska that ideally we would keep the same characters.

Regarding Fiammetta's possible replacement: a divine caster would also get my vote.

I was about to ask about Fiammetta, actually. No news whatsoever from her? How does it work now? How much should we wait, should we start a recruitment or what? I like her character =(

As for continuing, I'm all for it, of course. As it was probably clear from my questions and suggestions in the past, I do feel that PFS is a bit limiting (I am now dreaming of a campaign around thunderbucket: get the ship, sail somewhere far away, go all odyssey with it, etc). But, I signed up for it willingly and will stick to it unless we reach a unanimous decision otherwise.

That said, I do feel that the GM is much more limited in his fun than the players, due to having to follow the scenario to the letter and etc. Is there anything that perhaps we could do to make you feel less restricted, Giuseppe? Like, more roleplaying with NPCs or perhaps small interlude scenarios in which you are completely free (and that we somehow manage to compartmentalise so it doesn't have any lasting mechanical effects on the PFS bits)?

w00t! Though my pyromaniac side is a bit sad

Aldus' face lightens with the flames emanating from Dolgarth's arms. "And here I was, thinking those flames were just your master's eccentricity, Dolgarth." Taking a short breath, the Galtan enters the building, shoots an arrow at the derro and yells "Now, comrades, let us extinguish this darkness for good!"

I guess it's also a matter of spell level…I imagine continual flame was cast as a 1st-level spell, whereas darkness is 2nd-level. Which means my idea of spending a spell slot to cast light wouldn't make much difference. Can someone closer to the derro's last position just try and cover the barrel in which darkness was cast?

Liberty's Edge

What if we set stuff on fire (fabric, wood, etc), throw it in and just let the bastard suffocate/burn to death? Would that be legal in PFS? Less importantly, does thinking this make me a bit of a terrible person?

Liberty's Edge

Aldus lowers his bow with an expletive. "Our light doesn't seem to pierce this at all. Dolgarth, perhaps it's a good moment for you to try those flaming wristbands of yours?" Without waiting for a reply, he starts addressing the whole group, reciting lines from a revolutionary Galtan play: "Contemptible you are in your darkness, you king of shade and gloom! You had your thrones, parasite, but it is time! We bring the return of the light which was stolen from us."

@Jakwin: yes, that spoiler. Apparently the derro can spam darkness at will. Yay.

Aldus looks over Jakwin's shoulder with curiosity. "It's very…shiny, actually." He looks at his own bow, then at the sword with a bit of wonder, a sigh and a few quiet words leaving his mouth "If only we had things like this…"

Leaving thoughts of the past behind, he looks at the new building. "It will be difficult to bluff our way around this, if there's anyone inside. Us not knowing a word of undercommon seems to be a dead giveaway."
