Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know I've been down with the flu these past few days. I feel like I'm on the tail of it so I'm going to try and get to a few rps tonight before I head to bed early since I have to go back to work tomorrow. If I don't get to our game tonight I will do so tomorrow if work doesn't exhaust me.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I am pretty much done with my character, I just need to transfer that to here. It's on my laptop and I'm on my phone right now because we've been having internet problems. Hopefully it'll be fixed tomorrow!

I settled with remaining human but changing her bloodline to Celestial Bloodline.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Sorry guys, life kinda threw me a curve ball! I shall get on and reply when I get home tonight! Read though everything suggested and such.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

So... I know I want to change her to an Aasimar... but I can't settle upon her new bloodline. That and a busy weekend has kept me from doing much. I was leaning towards the Maestro Bloodline though. Thoughts?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I am here! Obviously as I asked my question about the races. I was thinking about going Aasimar and changing my bloodline into something else since we'll actually he using it.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Question on the races, why nerf Tiefling? It follows the same +2, +2, -2 that most other races follow only Aasimar has the +2, +2 with no minus.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Sorry I've been a bit less active lately, my mom had back surgery and I've mostly been taking care of her because well... I don't trust my stepdad to do it. He's just not good with that kind of thing.

Totally go for the dark forest.

Forgotten temple... yeah.

I love Lycans! I'd like it if we had the ability to maybe get them on our side with some work.

Also as the co-ruler part is gone... what will Abalia fill?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Well to be fair outside of Asmodeus, none of the evil deities get much love.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Lamashtu is always a good angel, though so is Norgarbor.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Same. Abalia mainly has stay at home spells.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I hope everything gets better Eragar!

Though with that what do you all wish to do?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

So do we try for anew GM? Or just keep going on? Or what?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

So um... What do we do then?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Also just so you all know. I am still here! I'm reading a following along. I just sadly either lack input or what I would have said has been said.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Varden:
Abalia follows Samuel's lead.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Roads would allow us to bring in the harvest a lot easier and it would also mean patrols go smoother, would it not General?" Abalia asked with a smile. "Also I was thinking ahead, maybe we should build a granary. Somewhere to hold any extra harvest should we have any left over."

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

@ Samuel: I agree with that.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

It would make things easier to have a "temple district". Also easier to know where all the healers are.

Would the Cathedral have to be dedicated to only one deity? Not like a Cathedral that has a small shrine to each?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I would like a Shelyn one.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Yes that looks correct.

And I would offer but Abalia would more than likely remain.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Did we just use all of our BP in this go?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Then we shall leave it in your hands." Abalia said with a nod to Dengorin.

Once that was settled she looked to Samuel, "Shall we return to our duties? I would like to check in on the families and ensure they get a chance to see their spouses have returned." She told him.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Yes well, I agree with my husband. Should Bishop Kaltaneous agree to hold a proper trial for them, I am willing to leave it in his hands." Abalia said with a nod.

She looked to Samuel after and asked "Would you like me to be present for the trial in your stead? Or do you believe that would send the wrong message?"

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Then I purpose this: Kael is to be held in one of the ship's brigs till we are able to construct a prison of our own to keep him in. He will then be housed there for period no fewer than five years but no greater than ten. After his mandatory five we can review his crime and see if he's changed. As for the rest, one lashing at most but if they break the law again within two years they will receive an adition year in prison when judged for their crime. Can all agree upon that?" Abalia asked.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Abalia gave a small chuckle at Elijah's statement that a wife's anger was more of a punishment than lashing.

"The only problem I have with exile is that he could return or become bandit that will later plague us. We've seen that he is charismatic enough to rally others to his side, and he has a lot of disdain for us. That is a bandit lord in the making." Abalia pointed out. "Wait, we've been worried about where to keep him. The ships we arrived on, does anyone know if they are to remain? Ships have brigs. We could imprison him there till we have a prison of our own." Abalia suggested.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"We don't have anywhere to hold Kael so it may be best to return him to Beral. If we kept him here we'd have to spend more man power just to have him watched." Abalia stated as she shifted in her hair, her left hand rubbing her forehead. "As for the others, I am unsure of using lashing as punishment. Too many may make it to where they cannot work or take care of their families. Which was part of the reason we've returned them to their families no? So if we're going to use that as punishment we need to settle upon how many." She was obviously uncomfortable with the thought of using lashes but if all agreed, and the amount of lashings wasn't too great, she'd go along with it.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Your silents says more than your words ever could." Abalia told Kael. "Soldiers please removed them while we deliberate, we shall send General Qoroshúk for you once we have settled upon a verdict." Abalia requested.

Once they had been emptied out Abalia looked to the council. "Thoughts?" She asked.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

There isn't really more we can do with them, but making them do the worst part of it. We've nothing to keep them in, but unpaid labor is a punishment, and kinda the only one we have. Outside of removing one of their hands for theft.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Abalia leaned over to Samuel and whispered "It is plain to see Kael is the main instigator of this. I suggest allowing him to carry the most weight. Have the others work for a period of five years but have Kael work for a period of ten?" She suggested, if they could agree upon this then the two could speak about to together to the rest of the council.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Maybe till we have the resources for long-term imprisonment we could sub it out with hard labor?
>>
<<
><
Is it cruel to make them build their own prison? Because hard labor right now would be building things... and we'd need a place for long-term imprisonment, so they could end up building their own prison.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Yes, and what of those you left behind? Your spouses, your children. Those who love and need you and you just up and left them?" Abalia asked as she looked to the group as a whole. "They where worried sick. They feared they'd never see you again. Tell me, what would you have told your families, why would you wish to start a new life without them?"

I don't know why I haven't asked this before, may I just take 10 for a 17 to aid his diplomacy?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Could we split it? Allow the troops to do the areas close to home and hire adventurers for the areas further away?
If we cannot then I would go for hiring guys. I'd rather go with that.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I understand the question you're wanting answered, but the statement you made was:

Varden Baile Phuir wrote:
Point of contention, abandoning your spouse and children has been illegal in almost every society including most modern ones. It is still a civil offense in pretty much every single nation that it is not outright legally punished.

I was just informing you that, that is incorrect and in places that is correct it is extremely hard to prove.

But I do agree that our characters need to sit down, or hell just even us here, and hash out some laws that would have been set upon the journey over the ocean.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Actually if a father or mother walks out on a family it is call Marital Abandonment, and while it isn't illegal it does give grounds for divorce. Also if one leaves to live at a distance from the family it doesn't automatically count as Marital Abandonment, the difference is often seen in the person’s refusal to provide necessary support, whether financial or otherwise, with no intention to return, or to fulfill those responsibilities.

It actually only become Criminal Abandonment when they've left a spouse who cannot take care of themselves and minor children. But so long as one of the two remains they aren't considered abandoning children.

Just walking out, which is all we really have them on right now, isn't illegal.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Abandoning ones wife and children is a deplorable act but it is not a crime. Theft of the horses however is." Abalia said with a simple shrug. "But we have just arrived here. We do not have anywhere to place these people and we unlike towns or cities, we have only a set number of people. Do we have shackles? Ones that could be worn around the ankle?" She asked.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Conversation:
"Does my husband's suggestion and explanation satisfy you?" Abalia asked Varden. "For mine is no different."

Abalia joined Samuel upon the dais, yet seems oddly silent. Listening to what those around her say. "Here stand before us 17 people. The 18th dead. First I would have their name so that their family may morn properly and if we can, lay the body to rest." She settled back into the chair as she looked at Qazag. "General Qazag, these 17 did not attack at all?" She asked, "Their only real crime then is the stolen horses."

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

We are looking for another person for this game. So you know, check is out and see if you like it.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Conversation:
"While that is all well and good, I won't know if Caspian will be a problem till I speak with him. Would you like to be included in this little talk we plan to have? Would that begin to put your mind to ease?" Abalia asked.

Abalia says close to Samuel, always within ear shot, though she mainly focuses upon the wives, husbands, and children left behind but those who ran off. Though she greatly encourages the parents left there to help work to take their minds off of it for a bit, she doesn't force the issue but she does offer to watch the children while they work so no harm will come to them.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"We just arrived and we've already got people running off?" Abalia asked rhetorically as she shoot her head. "What did they do? Run off to become bandits? Or maybe in a drunken stupor they thought going out riding was the best idea?" She couldn't help but believe the former was more likely than the latter as they had been smart enough to staddle the horses and take some other things with them. That on top of the fact there where 18 of them, didn't look good.

Abalia remained close to Samuel for the time. She was no good at tracking but felt she could be of some use here to help calm the people till the group had a set path to follow.
Aid Samuel's diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Conversation:
"Are you telling me you're my enemy Varden?" Abalia asked as she crossed her arms. "It is not foolish to believe I know whom you speak of, Spymaster." She pointed out as she raised an eyebrow. "To me it all depends upon why Caspian is here. I do not know, why he is here. If he came here for me why didn't he contact me when he first made his way into the city? Why wait till we're being sent to settle a new colony?" She asked simply one after the other.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Conversation:
Abalia let out a long sigh as she crossed her arms. "I don't know." She answered honestly. "We tried to speak with him before leaving but we couldn't. We are set to speaking with him tomorrow morning over breakfast." She explained as she crossed her arms. "Hopefully after that I can answer that question."

"Evin are you sure?" Abalia asked. "You had a large amount last night. You sure you're up for this?"

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Sense Motive for Qazag: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Abalia stopped what she was going when she noticed Caspian. She offered him a small smile but when he quickly busies himself with something else she sighs.

Walking with Samuel
"It's good to hear your thoughts." Abalia said with a smile as she walked along side Samuel. "You seem very excited about this." She told him. "I like it."

Talks with Varden:
Abalia is quiet as Samuel asks how they could help, but she was curious as to what this was about.

When the guard came to get them Abalia has been fixing her hair for the day. Though she quickly stopped and slipped on her gloves and altering her clothes into a lovely green dress with golden trim before she began to help Samuel get his armor on.

When she heard why they had been summoned her mind when into over drive. That hum came from her lips again as she began to think. "If the men slipped out with mistresses Qazag we'd have more missing. As of right now there are only three men missing. Dengorin, if Qazag is okay with it I would suggest putting one of the priests with each of three of the five groups. If something happened to these men they may need healing. Should you and Tsiala need more space to set up something in case each are wounded please let my servants know and they will clear space in our pavilion for them." After that she placed her right hand over her left glove, the green dress she had on slowly changed into black pants with a red bodice trimmed in gold and a green blouse under it. The gloves turned into golden bangles. "I'm coming with you to help." She stated to Samuel. "The more eyes the better."

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Abalia met his eyes, keeping them for a moment as she gave him a playful questioning look before slowly moving her eyes across the landscape. Though the darkness made it hard to see them as clearly, but that wasn't what she was focused on. After a minute a soft hum came from her lips, the common sign she was thinking. Finally she turned to face Samuel, taking his hands in hers and intertwining her fingers with his. "Home." She answered softly as she met his eyes again. "A home, we can build."

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Well first we need jobs for them to earn coin at." Abalia told the old dwarf with a small smile.

Abalia helps serve everyone some of the cattle and ale. Making sure the people get an equal amount of each as well as she could.

Though when Samuel comes up, requesting she choose something for them to do, his wording makes her blush. "Our path is that of the shore." She answered, smiling brightly at him as her hands joined his. "Some times to ourselves."

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Right, but if we have only 1 unrest from building then it's a lot easier for the Royal Enforcer no? Allowing us to keep it at 0?

However, if we keep to the round 2 of:
Tenement 1 BP (+2 Unrest)
Shrine 8 BP (+1 LOY, -1 Unrest)
Barracks 6 BP (-1 Unrest)
That would keep us at 0 with no roll.

As for the Coronation Day, that can only be held after all spots are assigned in character. Right now those we have are just doing what they know. Qazag is the one with the most military training so it makes sense to put him in the General role. We the players know that this is his place to be, but the characters are just learning that. Even if they may of had an idea at the beginning.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

If the addition building that we make each round reduce unrest by 1, we can keep it at one. Plus if I'm correct, doesn't the royal enforcer also have the ability to remove unrest by one?

Also maybe we should think about making a Monument? Something that, in away, marks this as our new home. It could even just be the local bell tower that we use to signal danger or such?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Hmm, then maybe we should build one tenement, then next turn build another while upgrading the first?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

"Every festival needs a name no? Would just the Landfall festival do?" Abalia asked Dengorin with a small smile.

"Oh and General, if you could note any place you think would be wise for a watchtower, or fort, I'd like to hear of it. Setting up a foreword defense could help us greatly. We don't know what else is out there and with how little we have, well I'd like to have a bit of warning if something does head our way." Abalia requested.

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

I think a farm and fishery are a very good idea. Maybe help offset the cattle we put down for the feast. Give the cattle some to recover and only eat off of the fish and fields.

Plus, we're allowed to build a few more things each round correct? Can we not build more than one house at a time?

Queen Abalia Human Sorceress 3/ Co-Ruler (+6 to Economy)

Evin has a point. I figured it was all going to food, I didn't even think about anything else honestly.

About Al-Akim Naziri

This dark skinned young man grew up in Solku, on the edge of Katapesh in the shadow of the barrier wall mountains. He realized at a very young age his affinity the desert wilds, and became a constant seeker of their secrets. His mother, unable to get him interested in a trade, sent him to apprentice with the Dawn Vigil, a band of Paladins of Sarenrae. It was here that he met the Wizard that would become his mentor and instructor, Daryush Bahnoud.

Master Bahnoud, initially looked on Al-Akim with much skepticism. One so young does not normally take to the studies. But after years of succesful and diligent apprenticeship Master Bahnoud developed a guarded appreciation for the boy.

This apprenticeship continued on for 15 years. Less than 1 year ago, Al-Akim was granted the full title of Ranger. He was sent by his now colleague, Bahnoud, to Katapesh to locate an old relic from a bygone era.

Al-Akim discovered instead a series of scrolls which vaguely describe an event in Kelmarane 26 years ago. His Father, who he had always been told died during a flash flood, had actually died in Kelmarane during “the event”. Al-Akim approached his mother regarding this revelation. The old woman would give no details, only that Al-Akim had indeed been born there, and whatever this event was, it had forced his mother to flee to Solku with Al-Akim still a babe. She did however provide Al-Akim, with a beautiful Falchion set with small blue gemstones and intricate engravings near the base of the blade, which had belonged to his Father. This has become his prized posession.

After the recent death of his mother, the young Ranger has developed an intense curiosity to determine what happened in Kelmarane, and what happened to his Father.
