perhaps a clearer way of stating it, after initiative is set up, those numbers you derived are useless and can be forgotten, they are mearly there to deturmin turn order. once turn order is deturmined one delays to after or before where ever they may chose

well the simple answer to this one is actually do away with the xp system more or less. you as the GM level the party when you feel is good. if the party purposfully goes looking for random encounters to level, have them fight a couple and level. but dont feel like you are locked into the rules cuz your not. i personally buff the crap outa monsters to make fights tougher but still only give base xp, keeps fights tough but party at appropriat level for where they should be.

4 BONUS skill ranks.

Level 1. Take this feat and choose stealth. You put a rank in stealth and this feat grants a BONUS rank. You have two ranks in stealth.

Do the same each level after that until 4th (where the bonus' stop). You are level 4 with 8 RANKS in stealth (4 of which come from your own pool of skill points).

There are feats and prestige's you can qualify for much faster with this feat. You could write an entire optimization guide on where this would apply.

bonus skill ranks are still just that, skill ranks, i dont see anywhere defining bonus skill ranks as being different and bypassing the stanard skill rank rules for allocation

It only activates on a successful hit, and you can't successfully hit a swarm with a weapon.

nitpicking: this isnt correct, swarms are immune to weapon damage, not beeing hit by weapons, the his is just concidered to do 0 damage, so weather or not the energy dfamage is brought to 0 is a diffrent argument but you CAN hit it with a weapon

so let me point out that being evil does not preclud you from being personable. if you like the show supernatural crowley is an excellent example of a lawful evil person that they talk to all the time, they dont exactly like him and they dont always see eye to eye but they get along mostly

i wouldnt alter a thing, if thats the party they wanna play then i go with it.

its their fault they cant overcome the chalenges presented and will have to find a way to do so. im flexable on how they want to go about it but im not going to change my story to fit their group.

i consistantly run a group of friends that never take UMD or disable divice, so they usually kick in the door and get hit by traps, and they roll with it, its up to the party to take on the challenges inteligently at whatever pace they choose, but that doesnt change what the challenges are going to be

so im not new to pathfinder at all really, my friends and i have been into the system for a few years but for the longest time we never played because none of us wanted to GM really.

well a few months ago i finally got over my nerves and pulled my pants and started GMing for our group, and i was happy to discover I LOVE GMing, i like doing the prepwork to get ready for a night of play and i love paizos pre made adventure paths cuz im not very creative in a wold building mannor.

after learning the ropes over the past few months i came to these forums and found out about PFS, i like the idea of games that are short so they dont span months and anyone with level appropriate characters can join in. i was even thinking of asking my local hobbie shop if i could start doing a PFS night.

My main issue is whenever i learn something new for an RPG i learn best by being shown how it works and if im not i dont feel very comfortable doing it (i only learned a month ago that encounter CR isnt the total CR of all the creatures in a fight but based on a table and the total XPprovided by the creatures(and man i felt like a noob after finding that out))

i was wondering if there was someone who would like to take the time and setup a talk on skype or link me to a summery guid or even in this forums thread on how GMing (and i know gms in PFS just run off what the book says more or less and im A ok with that) and charater creation for PFS should go, just so im sure i understand it right.

thanks for any help i get
