The time is now past March the 2nd 00:00 UTC and two of my games have already started so, I guess we're good to go.
An ill wind stirs whitecaps on the dark Jeggare River, carrying with it the faint odor of spoiled meat. Travelers crossing High Bridge into Korvosa grumble and pull their collars up against the cold. Past the somber city gates is a sprawling square plaza. Throughout the area, small clusters of people gather close together, stuffing their hands in their pockets as they engage in quiet conversation. Several guards hover around the edges of the plaza. A gray tabby cat rests nearby, its bright yellow eyes seeming to watch over the crowd.

Aya Eman
|
At the meeting point for the team, a woman wanders straight to location.
She walks with slow steps, is clearly from the Inner Sea region but is wearing Osirian clothing and a pendant showing the holy symbol of Horus which is the Eye of Horus. She is not the most agile woman although she is clearly beautiful.
The black haired woman approaches the group.
"I am Aya Eman, follower of Horus, the god of the sky, whose eyes are the sun and the moon, whose feathers are the stars, and whose wings are the sky!" she says and raises her arms to the sky.
She is wearing a breastplate armor and has a small buckler that is attached to her left arm. She also carries a backpack.
She looks at you all again.
"I was advised that we should start gathering here. I am ready to do so!"
Rosla el Func
|
A slim figure in unremarkable clothes is already standing at the meeting point, with an exotic light elvish blade in her belt and a light crossbow in her hand. On her back there's a finely crafted backpack. Who successfully peeks under the hood of her cloak gets to see the face of an elvish woman... with a large scar going diagonally from the upper left of her forehead to the lower right of her chin. She briefly frowns, then answers.
"Name's Rosla, Rosla El Func. I've already gathered here an hour ago. Any idea where the others are? They're all taking their sweet time, it seems..."
DISCLAIMER: This is just some roleplaying fun, I'm not actually that impatient. ;-)
Kageryu Takeda
|
An elf wearing armor seemingly made from leaves and well-appointed in foreign-looking equipment speaks up.
"Greetings, I am Kageryu Takeda."
The elf makes a slight bow.
"I was also observing the area and awaiting others to gather. It is nice to meet you Aya and Rosla."
You notice the elf occasionally tilts his head down towards the sword at his side.
Yukari Rosenthal
|
A pretty young lady in darkleaf cloth armor with a blackwood longbow on her back, holding a piece of parchment letter, looks around the plaza. It doesn’t take long for her to notice a band of similarly equipped individuals waiting, and she approaches your group.
"I assume you are also Pathfinders whom Sheila Heidmarch called in? I am Yukari of the Rosenthal family. It is a pleasure to meet you all."
Kageryu Takeda
|
Kageryu, wearing the same type of armor as Yukari, looks at her longbow with a speculative gaze.
"Indeed it was she who sent me a summons."
Kroissando Caféran
|
A varisian female steps in. People may find Shelyn's holy symbol on her, as well as a hand-drum. You could hardly tell she's a cleric or bard, until she speaks out:
"Hi everyone, glad to meet you all. I am Kroissando Caféran. I am a bard devoting myself to the path of art. I love music and croissant, so you can call me Croissant :). I am glad having a peer here for further discussion of music, of course, after this mission. I am ready to taking interviews with those people."

As you are getting to know each other a large-eyed woman in a green gown waves, and then introduces herself by handing out cards bearing her name— Zeeva Foxglove—and the address of the Green Market in South Shore. A cat bearing a striking resemblance to the one that rested on the square’s cobbles a bit earlier on walks alongside her. I owe you an explanation, she says, But let us travel as we talk, for my market cannot do without me for long. I know it sounds ridiculous, but there are actually three disasters waiting to strike.
The merchant walks briskly, slipping gracefully past the crowds and carriages. It began after I heard about a Varisian caravan parked outside the city. The vagabonds had lost everything to bandits, and, my marketplace is so profitable now, I can afford to share my bounty with those whom fate mistreats. I brought them some produce, and in return, their fortune-teller offered me a harrow reading.
Foxglove’s rosy complexion pales. The spread foretold good fortune, almost to excess—that is, until she turned up The Yellow Prophet. A legendary lost card, although I didn’t know that then. Its appearance upset the soothsayer. She said the card required that three more cards be drawn, and she did so hastily, giving me hardly any insight. What I’ve learned since is that each of those cards portends a dark fate—a disaster.
She produces a deck of cards from her handbag. It seemed the fortune-teller was hiding something, so I obtained my own harrow deck and researched the cards’ meanings. But I am still in the dark, and my own auguries tell me that time is running short. I need brave investigators, well-versed in the arcane, to determine where these calamities will strike—or, failing that, track down that fortune-teller, so that she can explain her strange behavior.

I am not professional on Harrow deck, but I am a Varasian. Maybe I can tell something about the cards.

Foxglove shows you the cards. Harrow cards can be tricky: an ominous card isn’t always negative, and a cheery card can turn calamitous. Instead of relying on their traditional meanings, I’m guessing the cards have connections to people or places in Korvosa. Maybe you can catch something I’ve overlooked? At this point, Foxglove shows you The Betrayal, The Cricket, and The Unicorn.

Kageryu goofed his Arcana and has Planes and Religion so no help from him unfortunately. :(

"Ava makes a valid point. How do you know this reading is accurate? Is the person who made this well-known for prognostication? Can we ask her if she has attained any further insight or meaning into the cards or her reading?"
I'm drawing a blank unfortunately. :(

An abrupt cold breeze blows from up the street, carrying with it a voice not quite like any you have heard before: mellifluous, sandy, sibilant, and eerily resonant, with only a faint lisp and an even fainter Tian accent:
"'Disaster'? Fortunate, thee! Surely thou did not become wealthy without knowing how to ride the winds of opportunity it brings!?"
At the center of a conspicuous gap in the crowd ahead, a lone man saunters in your direction with motions like those of a finely-articulated mannequin or expertly-directed marionette. Heavy blue and black robes hang from his rail-thin body, and despite some Human-like features, any chance of being mistaken for human is immediately deterred by the Elf-like solidity of his bulging eyes, and skin only a slightly lighter shade of blue than his robes. A large black crossbow hangs at his back and an imposing silver staff tipped with a sort of built-in lantern rises above his head, while at his side, a shimmering silver icon that you hesitate to categorize as either a moon or a skull swings like a pendulum. He somewhat clumsily brandishes his Open Road token with one hand, while his other grips...a doll?!?
It is difficult to explain, but you feel as if everything near him is simply more still and silent than it ought to be, and as he continues his approach, you increasingly sense this...deadness around you: The air is more still, yet colder. Dust and ash in the air seem to drift more slowly. The sounds of the vibrant market seem more hollow and distant. Even the others around you start to feel further away than they actually are.
"How do you do?" He continues with a toothy, near-curveless smile wider than his head would seem capable of accommodating. "I am Saturn Samedi Arundhati Balthazar Krishnamurti Fumanchu Maitreya, and I believe you are our errand here. I, for one, would not b..."
He suddenly interrupts himself as if hearing something; he looks down at his doll.
"Really, you think so?!...Hmph, a lot of good that did at The Battle of Silent Juncture, to name just one example...Well you tell that to him!"

You know, harrow decks could be explained in many ways. And a 'disaster' could be something else. The 3 cards I could tell two: Traitor's Mews could have some clue for the Betrayal while we may find something associated with the Cricket in Kendall Amphitheater. I could hardly tell what the Unicorn could stand for though...
Croissant glances at her peers and wishes if someone could help her out from the last card.

I answered that earlier but here is the answer again - The fortune teller and her troupe vanished into Korvosa days ago. They could be anywhere. Maybe ask around? She cut a memorable figure—a Varisian half-elf with scraggly black hair and rotting teeth.
Maybe Foxglove replies. She then offers to give you an abridged harrow reading, called a choosing, to grant you luck and insight on your quest. She isolates and shuffles nine cards from a single suit, and then prompts each of you to draw a card.
If you want to draw, roll a d10 and reroll any rolls that are the same as someone else's roll or a zero.
Or just choose one from the latest slide.

Aya smiles and nods.
“Of course I’ll draw a card!“

Rosla el Func

@Yukari: If you roll a number someone else has already got (and taken the card), you must reroll. Aya has already drawn card number 8.
"Well, if the others do so, I think I should draw a card, too..."
Rosla briefly closes her eyes and draws a card...

Noticing Yukari heading off to ask about the soothsayer, Saturn first pulls her aside to provide some advice the ways of inquiry; what he has to say doesn't make any sense, in fact it seems quite counterproductive, and yet...something about it sticks with her. That would give her a '26'.

Once you have drown your cards you have two choices of where to go. Traitor's Mews or Kendall Amphitheater. Aya already suggested the Amphitheatre. Does everyone else agree?
It was either that or we made a Diplomacy (Gather Information) for info on the soothsayer and where her and her people went.
