Please add your token, initiative and perception to the >Slides<
You may begin character introductions in the gameplay thread. The game will begin on March 2.

Done and done. Nal's Exploration Activity is Avoid Notice unless otherwise noted. It's in her header to remind you.

You may begin character introductions in the gameplay thread. The game will begin on March 2.
Since the Gameplay thread currently just has the default scenario description, I'm not sure how to handle the intro (are we arriving by sea? are we meeting in a pathfinder lodge? etc.)
So, if it's okay, I'll prob wait for the box-text intro to get some context. Unless ... maybe you're allowed to post that part a little early ...
P.S. If Mrs. Perkins thinks the dragons are ill-behaved, I'm afraid what she'll think of Dennis.
Potipher Perkins
|
Mrs. Perkins' eyes narrow.
Nal Bagura
|
Oh, this'll be fun to watch. ;)
Nal prefers to emerge from the shadows after enough other people have arrived, so I'll wait a bit to make my initial post as well.
| cmlobue |
You begin at Iceferry Lodge. You are ushered inside and led to a fire to warm up while awaiting your briefing.
Lokaloka
|
oops. Sorry. I forgot to dot in for this one. I was waiting to see how PCs would work out and forgot about this one.
Lokaloka

Slides and and RPG Chronicles done.
Lokaloka

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
We also start with 2 Hero Points apiece. Potipher has at least 3 glyphs and I have 5. Sir Alec I think has 4 and Meadow has 2...
Nal Bagura
|
If I'm a little slow to post for the next couple weeks, it's because our cat just had surgery and manages to slip out of his cone whenever we turn our backs for too long. Please bot me as needed, though hopefully that won't be necessary.

Meadow and Nal both have the foloowing boon:
Tarnbreaker Champions (General): You are a champion of the Balgirdtrek, which earns you special privileges throughout the
Lands of the Linnorm Kings. While playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, you can
stay for free at any Ulfen or Varki inn or similar establishment, and you gain a 10% on all non-magical goods bought in Ulfen or
Varki settlements (this does not stack with any other discount or reduction in price). In addition, you gain a +1 circumstance
bonus on all Diplomacy checks to Make A Request while playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the
Linnorm Kings.
Lokaloka
|
Make that three of us!
Although Lokaloka has Champion Dedication, she doesn't have any of the benefits yet. She got it at Lvl 6 (so unfortunately no Liberating Step or Glimpse of Redemption as of now).

Indeed we do! Nal also has the following boon, which may or may not apply:
Legacy of the Gorget (General): You have made close friends in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings by retrieving Grehunde’s gorget and the body of her heroic descendant, Hlavard. This boon has special benefits when slotted during Pathfinder Society Scenario #1-10: Tarnbreaker’s Trail, and may have other benefits in scenarios and quests that feature Grehunde’s descendants.
| cmlobue |
Boons have been noted. Enjoy your stay in the Land of the Linnorm Kings.

Meadow leans in and whispers to Mrs. Perkins. "Erm...I think they speak Skald here and not Hallit, ma'am."
Well, this is embarassing ... Mrs. Perkins speaks whatever language is local to her homeland, Irrisen. For whatever reason, I thought that was Hallit, but that appears not to be the case. In which case, Mrs. Perkins should speak Skald and not Hallit. I'll use Downtime to retrain the language.

You're not wrong though. Both Hallit and Skald are spoken in Irrisen. Skald is spoken in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings to the west and Jotun and Hallit are spoken in the Realm of the Mammoth Lord's ro the east.

GM cmlobue -- Before approaching, based on what we can see/hear, can you tell us what skills will help with each?
Also, Crookscale's spoiler (well, the first "Crookscale" spoiler, since the second is meant to be Ordius) is "empty". Is the empty spoiler a typo?
| cmlobue |
Nope, you are going in blind. But you don't have to try anything if you find that you don't have anything unsuitable. They probably won't eat you...
Will fix spoilers with a new post.
Dennis the Menace
|
I'd advocate sticking together, and if nobody has a preference, I suggest just running down the list and approaching Bruvilex first. I haven't opened the spoiler yet (so I don't know if there's a skill check requested inside), but if a few other people are okay with this plan, I'll open and begin roleplay/rolling.
Sounds like a good plan.
Dennis the Menace
|
I think +14 is the party high for Diplomacy, you should probably be the one making the check.
Ahhh. True enough.
I just figured a) we have a CHA-based bard and sorc in the group, so I thought Diplo might be more their thing, and b) didn't wanna hog up the ONE roll just because I posted first, so I was also trying to give everyone a chance to participate.
But in retrospect, if Dennis really does have the highest Diplo, then if our GM allows it, maybe Dennis' roll can be the main one. GM?
Dennis the Menace

Each character can make a single check to get to know one linnorm. You can use any skill you can justify, though some may be easier with certain linnorms than others.
@cmlobue -- I understand we each get one check, but do we need to choose different linnorms?
If so, maybe those with fewer skill options should choose their linnorm first.
| cmlobue |
No, you can all choose the same one, assign at least one person to each, or whatever other combination you please.
The benefits you get are specific to the linnorms you succeed with, and have multiple levels, so may end up with one linnorm who really likes you, or many who think you're pretty okay.
| cmlobue |
I think we are due for some Hero Points.
One for Nal for using up all their luck on skill checks.
One for Dennis for general Dennisness.

Thanks!
Lokaloka

Massive apologies for ghosting the table. Spent last week getting ready for a martial arts exam (passed) and needed the weekend to recover. Catching up now.
| cmlobue |
Congrats on the level up!
Dennis the Menace

The distraction from its companion allows it to land two savage blows. Two crits due to off guard from flanking.
Ouch! But 2 questions:
1) Both Red and Green are 5' up (according to the tracker). If so, they're both attacking from above. I don't believe that counts for being opposite Dennis to flank, is that true?
2) Does Red not need MAP on 2nd attack?
| cmlobue |
Correct on both counts. But that still leaves you hit twice.

Support Benefit The bird pecks at your foes' eyes when you create an opening. Until the start of your next turn, your Strikes that damage a creature that your bird threatens also deal 1d4 persistent bleed damage, and the target is dazzled until it removes the bleed damage. If your bird is nimble or savage, the persistent bleed damage increases to 2d4.
No bleed from Silence, as Nal's is higher.
I could have sworn I made a post asking about this on Saturday but I guess I didn't click submit or something. Anyway I didn't figure that Silence would be able to apply a second bleed but wouldn't Silence's dazzled effect apply as long as green is bleeding?
| cmlobue |
It would, good catch. But green is no longer bleeding...
Lokaloka
|
btw, how do you do the tinyurl thing? I've always wondered how to do that.
and congrats on your level up, GM! :)
and I'm again having internet issues at home so I'll post tomorrow at work (for real!)

Lokaloka wrote:btw, how do you do the tinyurl thing? I've always wondered how to do that.Go to https://tinyurl.com/ and put in a long URL.
how long does the url last for? do you have to do it every time?
| cmlobue |
As far as I know, forever. You need a new tinyurl for every new URL you shrink, but I've never had one expire while I needed it.
Lokaloka

oh cool. I'm using it now as well. I've always wondered how you did that! :)

Oops! As Nal pointed out, I forgot to post the 2d8 healing. (Apparently scatterbrain Dennis is rubbing off on me!)
@Sir Alec, maybe you can just include the 2d8 healing roll (for yourself) when you post? That way, i dont clutter up the board.
| cmlobue |
Lokaloka rounds on the GM. "I's not HIS!" she screeches.
Sorry, GM, couldn't resist... :)
You absolutely should correct me when I misgender your character. My apologies.
*adds some pickles to the treasure bundles*
Lokaloka

I'm not that picky about misgendering... Lokaloka just like screeching at people (her name means 'crazy' in Filipino) :)
Lokaloka

Sorry all... the dice bot hates me...

Sorry all... the dice bot hates me...
No worries. For the record, based on the Aid rolls, the rest of us were no better ... or worse.
At least you were brave enough to give it a go! And with her Performance, Lokaloka was def the best person for the gig. So, win or lose, I say well done. Thanks!
Lokaloka
|
I give myself a +2 bonus and roll a Nat 1!!
Dennis the Menace
|
I love playing rogues in Pathfinder. But Society never seems to give rogues enough opportunity to pick locks. So I'm good with giving Nal (or anyone else) a chance to have fun with Thievery.
We can always bash the door if that doesn't work.
Dennis the Menace
|
Lokaloka? Everything okay?
BTW, in case it matters on the Lokaloka bot, she had been rolling Performance for Diplo at +17, not +13. (which is why Dennis had been deferring Diplo to her.)
And she had (at least 1 crit aid) for a +2. Total Diplo to convince Crookscale should prob be at 32, if a possible crit makes a difference.
