I will assume River route is the path okay!! I will have a post tonight or Tomorrow about the path you will take. Also for Fandom Encounters, I like one for the Day, If you stop to Rest at Midday, and then at night per watch. Not all are combat related.
Figured a good percentile roll for the day, and at night. With a following d10 or d20 roll
Akkramar has a pretty decent Survival and Direction Sense, so hopefully he can work as a guide of sorts? Or such is my hope :)

Tommy will use his weather sense (60%) and fishing (60%) to try to make sure we set up tents before any heavy downpours that might occur during the week of travel, and making decent meals [cooking] (75%) for the group. He will also look out for any herbs/plants that would be useful for his herbalism (55%) and/or brewing (75%).

With the settlers...temporarily settled you head via the river route. You note a few people in the beginning, fishing be it rod in reel, Fly Fishing and even net. You are on the edge of a few farm lands aswell. though all in all about a days walk from the citadel you haven't experienced true wilderness.
Do you camp for lunch, or go until dusk?

Tommy Boyd |

So are you taking the whole group with you? Or anyone aside your group as more people will be more days
Are some of the less adventursome halflings open to watching our lot and tending to some of the livestock Tommy would leave in their care (3 milking goats and three hens)? That would be milk and eggs (fresh food) that would help to nourish them while the more adventurous halflings accompany us to the quarry.
What do the rest of you think? Two halfling hireling for each of our PCs? Having half of the traveling (with us) hirelings to remain at the quarry after we take care of what needs to be done there to keep it maintained while our group goes to check out one of the other leads with the remaining traveling hirelings?
@Critzible: Were some of the less adventurous halflings willing to watch our lot outside the city gates (and have some fresh milk and eggs as upfront/ongoing payment while our PCs are exploring?)

Tommy Boyd |

I suggested 2 hirelings per PC for traveling from the city to the quarry, so that with some of the hirelings being left to attend to the quarry while we go check out another lead, we would have (at max) 1 hireling per PC travelling with us when we leave the quarry.

Go ahead and make your simple rolls for lunch and then camp for day 1 what is your watch ect. Shifts and what not. Once we get that I will make a set of rolls and if something pops have you make a counter roll based off your stats and avbilites. Once done we will move to a more smoother model.

Tommy's Weather Sense: 1d20 ⇒ 2 DC Wis - 1 = 13 - 1 = 12 (need 12 or less) => Success
Tommy's Fishing: 1d20 ⇒ 19 DC Wis - 1 = 13 - 1 = 12 (need 12 or less) => Failure
Tommy's Cooking: 1d20 ⇒ 10 DC Int = 15 (need 15 or less) => Success
Tommy's Herbalism: 1d20 ⇒ 12 DC = Wis - 2 = 13 - 2 = 11 (need 11 or less) => Failure
Tommy's Brewing: 1d20 ⇒ 12 DC = Int = 15 (need 15 or less) => Success
I am thinking the herbalism and brewing checks would make more sense just finding herbs/plants/berries/etc. as part of the foraging Tommy is doing during traveling/breaking for lunch/camptime....and would need more of a downtime-style day to make checks to see if he successfully turns his gathered ingredients into viable brews and poultices. Is that how you want to handle it, Critzible?

Wis 16 looking for dangers. Also have alertness: 1d20 ⇒ 2 whelp
Days of marching had left Bharak feeling far too secure. As they walked along, he quietly tried to recite his prayers to the Forge Father, focusing on getting each word and intonation right. It certainly filled the time, but it was not exactly conducive towards being alert for potential dangers.

As you camp by the river, you see a barge cominf down the river.A man stands and then seeing you slows letting his barge well more a raft on your side. He smiles dressed a mix of function and finery his vest silk, his pants canvas. On top his head a foppish betet with a long feather held with a red gem within a copper settinf.
From the little cabin in the center a woman holding a babe, and three children two young boys and a girl begin bringing out some simple goods.
" Ho there stout folk, tis truly a sight to see more of your kind here. I be blessed indeed, Never got a good look at ye kin in the Quarry I did, but made a good sale to there man I did." he made a bow.
" Name is Dahmer Skol, Peddler, fisherman, tinker, Master of many and finder of many more!!" he then looks up and strokes his little mustache.
" I do have wares you see, many a gear for the travel4r and villager alike!! Though not as much as I had at the begining mind you. Sold alot up river." He said a bit saddened, though still excited.

"Oh, News, and Business. Well, Business on the river is nice, not as much as the roads. I get a wagon full of gear in Restenford,then haul it up the routes, then usually get a good deal on stone and some raw ore to bring back down to Restenford" He says as he strokes his mustache.
"However the Quarry, and its village seem to have ran into some trouble. Several workers had an accident and a new foreman appeared with Dwarves...though they were more halfling sized and the villagers told of wrapped in cloaks, hide and sack cloth. Tools were shoddy at best. Nothing like the tales I do here from other foo...I mean Adventurers." He looked away and coughed.
"I am worried about the Quarry, I do, do a good deal of profit from the Quarry Mineral Trade, but now I am more selling slightly used gear, wood, and a few other lesser resources. I would love to see the Quarry flourish Again. Then maybe we can see to other claims of gold, iorn, copper and silver. Supposedly they do be out there." The man said a bit nervous as she then sighed.
"However if you are curious I do have food stuffs. Got couple extra Salted Pork, Turnips, Potatoes, Onions and a bunch of nuts and berries. The Cheese is off limits." He says eyeing them as he shows the food stuffs and a wheel of grey green cheese with a black wax rind held the veiny cheese.

Bharaz stiffened at the news of these “dwarves.” Something in the telling made his beard bristle. As calmly as possible he said ”In the forge father’s name, I would meet with these…ah…dwarves.” His tone of voice dripped with doubt. ”But before hand tell us more about this new fireman, the troubles ye faced and the cloaked figures he brought. Oh, and don’t worry about the cheese. I give my word that I will take nothing that has not been offered.” He said with seriousness.

"Oh the foreman I speak is the night foreman A Brazil Erok, a dwarf has tapped the lowest parts of the mine." He clears his thoart and then continues on.
"At first the three Shifts began to yield incredible results. Stone was coming out in record time. We got them to market and made gold. Though about a month ago it stopped." He pulled a hankerchief to wipe his brow and then smiled seeing Akkramar eyeing the pork.
"Best pork of the Shelf! Salted with local salt, cured and aged to be ready for stew, long travels and much much more! Only 5 silver for a Hamhock, 1 Silver for loins,and other choice cuts, Just say the word my friend and its yours!"
"Yes the month ago, more workers came in the night and well the productivity changed. The early shifts can't go further down the mine, and never see the night shift as well as disappearances and accidents keep happening to the day crews keeping the productivity low and us traders fighting over about three to seven large stones or only a few pounds of minerals and what not. Its strange indeed" The man says as his family seems to watch and offer deals to some of the other members of your group.
