Approaching the young human, Drakkor lingers nearby for a second before interrupting his thoughts. His voice is low as he tries not to let the conversation drift to the others.

"Do you think you can lead us back to the ancient city? Get us in the same way you did? What do you think about all this...stuff? This all started with you. Can we finish this...quest? Whatever you want to call it."

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"I think I can, yes," says Riverwind. "I think we can finish the quest, although the dragon is beautiful beyond imagining."

"Beautiful? Ha! I guess it's reassuring to know that the winged monster that'll likely tear us limb from limb'n eat us is beautiful," Ahto says to no one in particular.

He finishes the last of his breakfast, shoulders his pack, and waits patiently for the rest of the part to finish.

How far is the city of XAx Tsaroth from Darken Wood, Forest Master? the White Robe inquires as he prepares himself to leave.

"Twenty miles."

"And how far to the forests edge?" Varis adds

"You have been a most gracious host, Forestmaster," Ahto says in Dwarvish, bowing deeply at the waist to the unicorn. "May your forge burn ever bright."

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"Thank you," says the Unicorn.

The White Robe hesitantly asks Forest Master, if I could be so bold, would it be possible for me to touch just the tip of your foot?

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

The forestmaster says, "Let it be quick."

The White Robe meekly approaches the unicorn and bowing to the ground, touches the tips of his fingers to the Forestmaster's hoof.
This is a great honor, especially among the elves! he says. Thank you Forestmaster.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"You're welcome," says the Forestmaster.

Smiling, Drakkor nods.

"Agreed.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Okay, as you pick up and head towards the Forest's Edge, being only three miles away, you meet nothing of the forest. Darken Wood contains many dangers, but it's also the domain of the Forestmaster.

When you enter the plains of Abyssinia, you see smoke on the horizon. It seems that the barbarians have completed their hunts, and are cooking what they brought home.

You are still on target for Xak Tsaroth, and it will take you two days to get there.

You know the road to Xak Tsaroth better than anyone, Riverwind, lead us here, please.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Riverwind nods, and takes point. "Follow me, I'll make sure you keep a low profile among us barbarians," he says.

Or if we are not careful, they might drop a fiery mountain on us. Haste is best. the half elf quips.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"Follow me then," Riverwind said.

M Human Warpriest 5, F:8 / R:3 / W:9; AC 24/11/24 HP:24/38

"At least it's not that far." Varis sighs, following.

Still, he is a soldier, and keeps vigilant eye out for any potential threats once they are out of the forest.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

Varis, do a perception check. DC 14.

The White Robe follows, he puts his hood over his head, to keep the sun out of his eyes.

Feel free to roll for me in the interest of going forward with the story. Perception, knowledges or insight you think might be needed, just roll and narrate the result. Even attacks - generally, opportunity if someone moves away

EDIT: you'd probably roll better :(

Yeah, I'd probably roll better.

The group leaves the forest and are on the open plains. Up ahead, you see some people in seeker robes.

"Or at least be as unremarkable as we can."
Varis looks over disparate group. *sigh*

"If we can see them, they can see us," Ahto says. "If we suddenly change our course now, we're going to draw their attention. These Seekers are as suspicious and relentless as the goblins. Maybe if we stop now, act like we're arguing over directions, and then head off, we'll be overlooked. Maybe..."

The White Robe will begin to silently remember the words to a spell, in case there is trouble.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

The seekers see you. They start moving in on you.

Drakkor moves closer to Goldmoon, his driftwood staff at ease on his shoulder and nods at Riverwind.

”If anything happens, you two stay behind me.”

M Human Warpriest 5, F:8 / R:3 / W:9; AC 24/11/24 HP:24/38

"Let me try talking to them." Varis runs through probable scenarios looking for one that would give him some advantage, be it pointing his noble birth, minotaur pilgrimage or military service.

It is sad that he even considers lying here. Best not to.

He steps forward as the groups get closer.

Female Half Elf Fighter 2/ Bard 3, Init +4, HP 42/42; AC 18/13/15; Fort +5 Ref +6 Will +5, Per+7

Well, if he does the talking, we better prepare for a fight.

Kellandra asks in a hurry to the soldier

Do you want my help? Maybe I could find some arguments and deflect their attention elsewhere..

M Human Warpriest 5, F:8 / R:3 / W:9; AC 24/11/24 HP:24/38

"Apreciated. Let's see what they do first. Slight chance of nothing doing."
Varis anwers in clipped sentences as Seekers come closer. He maintains one step lead, keeping the group visually behind him and making him obvious first target to talk to.

Ahto stands to the outer edge of the group, carrying himself as if he were a hired guard, crossbow cocked and loaded, but pointed downwards instead of at the approaching priests.

The White Robe will have move his free hand close to his spell component pouch that has rose petals in it.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"Hail!"

The voice sounds raspy.

M Human Warpriest 5, F:8 / R:3 / W:9; AC 24/11/24 HP:24/38

"Well met, seekers!" Varis stops and very slightly bows prominently holding his embossed shield
You can see Varis and his shield mark here

He moves aside to the edge of the road to let them pass and motions for his group to pass him by behind him.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

"We are on our way to Solace," says the seeker in his raspy voice. "Is this the right road?"

More Seekers, Ahto grumbles silently. How can an entire organization be made up entirely of insufferable busybodies??

Ahto stands near Varis, cocked and loaded crossbow in hand, acting like a paid guard. He, too, stands between the bothersome priests and his companions.

M Human Warpriest 5, F:8 / R:3 / W:9; AC 24/11/24 HP:24/38

"Indeed, you have about a day yet to go." Varis is polite, measured, in no hurry to move on. He nods as the man passes him. Varis too goes on his way after the group.
if there's something that people usually do with or about Seekers, Varis does it too. The idea being he does as every other unnoticed anybody does.

Female Half Elf Fighter 2/ Bard 3, Init +4, HP 42/42; AC 18/13/15; Fort +5 Ref +6 Will +5, Per+7

Kell, you notice that they have scales instead of human skin.

Know Religion 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 to see what he knows about Seeker greetings.

Lyzannder's Know Religion results:

You know that you greet them with brother, or sister. Followed by their first name. Since you don't know their names, just brother or sister will do.

Ahto stands with his crossbow cocked and loaded, with a posture clearly intended to convey a willingness and readiness to fight, if threatened.

As long as they know I'll do my job if they bother us, that's good enough. Hopefully these moralizing busybodies have urgent business to go and preach to someone other than us!

Intimidate, if necessary to convey this: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
