I'd like to apply with a ferret rogue

Added a short background for Kizz. Let me know if this is enough or if you'd want a more detailed one.

This is RH's Unchained rogue Otter, Navarre 'Two Fingers.' I've included his backstory explaining how he ended up with the trait 'Brigand' and his love for the lute. While having read 'Redwall' I don't remember the place names well enough to include them. So, I left the names of towns and locations out, if there is an area that fits his story well, I would be happy to interject it.

IF I don't get the chance to say it later, Orthos, thank you for running the game, we players appreciate it.

Also, good luck and good gaming everyone.

Average for class.

Doesn't need to be too long, no. :)

Sovereign Court

Throwing my hat into the ring with this one:

Brewmaster Bokrug

A NG Otter Alchemist, with a penchant for making flavoured extracts and potions ;-)

What would a Ferret be used from?

WIP Hare Martial Artist (Archer). Its hard to find a good profile picture. Truly love getting to use races and classes that usually aren’t allowed.

As a profession, he is a boyer and a fletcher. Travels from town to town, selling either his craft, or his use of a bow, as the need arises. Dreams of one day being a member of the Long Patrol, or at least being acknowledged as being worthy of it. While not talkative, or fun-loving like most of his kind, he at least shares their love of food.

Also…is variant multiclassing allowed?

Seth86 wrote:

Since they're also mustelids like Otters, I'll say Regular Elf, with Elven Immunities swapped for Slender. Ferrets are slippery sorts!

Aurilous wrote:

I'm gonna say no on this one, as I think there are enough alternate systems already in play.

Poe Sootfeather is finished. Thanks for considering him!

Poe's Portrait

Backstory:
Some would call it a tragedy… Poe calls it ‘life’. Born into poverty, his family lived on the fringes of Redwall. (Trait: Poverty-Stricken) It’s fortunate that crows are omnivores because the Sootfeathers couldn’t be picky about their diet when their meals were often the scavenged remains from other creatures’ tables. Adding to the family woes, Poe couldn’t contribute his fair share to their murder. He’d been a sickly chick, born with a twisted wing and weak flight muscles. (STR:10, unable to fly) He could flap, but he couldn’t fly. As the avian joke went:
What do you call a ground-bound bird?
Dinner.

Gallows humor, perhaps, but with a kernel of truth. From an early age, Poe was tormented and victimized by other smug birds and the usual coterie of animals that literally enjoyed eating crow. Disadvantaged though he was, Poe didn’t roll over for either group. He was light on his feet (Feat: Dodge) and he learned to fight. (Racial: Sword Trained, beak secondary attack) He didn’t always win but his bullies and enemies learned to figuratively eat crow. The evidence of those battles are immortalized on Poe in his deeply scratched and chipped beak, broken and missing feathers, and scars. (CHA:8) He is, at best, disheveled.

As he grew up, Poe also grew resentful of the birds that ‘lorded’ their flying abilities over him or looked down on his family. He moved from scavenging their table scraps to stealing their goods. His family had mouths to feed and no plump pigeon needed three rhubarb pies cooling on the window sill… so he’d take one. (Class: uRogue) As such things do, his thievery escalated. In part, it was a means of improving his family’s lot. In part, it was retaliation against the kinds of people that made his early years hell. Trying to justify thievery in his own mind, Poe adopted a set of hard and fast rules about who he robbed… the rich, the entitled, the pompous, and predators. (Align: LN, code of ethics) No hard-working, humble dormouse would come home to a larder stripped bare by him.

Poe can’t see a bird winging across the sky without feeling a pang of envy. (Trait: Natural Flier) His deepest wish is to find some way to fly. Poe often climbs to the top of the Abbey to feel what it must be like to be a bird on the wing. He’s jumped off the abbey’s pinnacle three score times trying to capture the feeling of true flight. Sometimes, he manages to glide semi-elegantly to the ground. Other times, he’s tail-spun, plunged to the ground, and broken a bone or three. (ART: Glide) While the realities of his life have made him largely abandon his other dreams, the dream of flight remains… And Poe fervently hopes this journey into the Deep Green will turn up some magic item or cure that will let him fly.

Not to my knowledge/memory, nor do they have any sort of domesticated animals to ride. Hence why I removed animal companions from Cavalier/Ranger/Hunter.

There is a Kingmaker campaign trait that gives the player a horse. In case you're interested in dropping or changing that.

Working on the details for my lizard Oracle of the Flame, with a focus on spells I can find an in-universe flavor for (burning hands is me blowing on a torch or a handful of sparks etc).

Just curious, are there any pre-selected characters? If so, what are their planned races and builds?

You’ve mentioned the discussion thread (I’ve read along a bit) and I want to be sure I’m not inadvertently stepping on their toes and lowering my chances of making a cohesive group.

May need to see what to do about the 'mount' that he gets from the campaign trait though

I'm going to step back due to there being so much interest. It does appear that there is, thus, no healer.

Do you have adaptations for the Kingmaker campaign traits? Cause they're all campaign/Stolen Lands specific.

Dark Archive

This looks like a realt fun take on Kingmaker and I'd love to apply. Conidering our need for reliable healing, my favorite classes....

How about some kind bat alchemist? I could use Goblin (maybe only +2 dec) or elf variant with dark vision. Maybe their wings were burned away in an accdent. Maybe they're trying to learn alchemy to restore what was lost. Maybe focus on healing, maybe delve into monster stuff.

Alternatively, how do you feel about the Shifter class? In particular, the oozemorph archetype.

I'll throw my hat into the healer ring with a Hedgehog Life Oracle (Pei Zin Practitioner). A few questions:
Officially, replacing a class feature through an archetype prevents you from taking any feats related to that feature until you actually obtain it. As Pei Zin Practitioner replaces the first-level revelation, this would prevent me from taking Extra Revelation until level 3. Can that requirement be waived in this case (or Healer's Way counted as a revelation) so I can have Life Link online at level 1?
With your reduction of Oracles from 9th-level casters to 6th-level casters, at what level do they gain their mystery bonus spells?

bigrig107 wrote:

Right, derp. I'd completely forgotten that. I'm referencing the tweaked flavor from PFSRD so prioritize that over the book's descriptions.

Bastard: Rename to "Outcast".

Brigand: Unchanged.

Noble Born: Rename to "Affiliation Representative":
"Strong as the Mountains" is Salamandastron.
"Success Through Grace" is Redwall Abbey.
"The Waters, Our Fields" is the islands and west sea.
"Endurance Overcomes All" is greater Mossflower.
"High Above" is the Open Lands, Badlands, and Marshwood.
"Ours is the Right" is Southsward and the Toad Lands.

Pioneer: Ignore the horse bit, pick a second skill for the +1 bonus and one of the two becomes a class skill for you.

Rostlander/River Lander: Unchanged.

Sword Scion: Rename to "Scion of Martin".

Issian/Tough Minded: Unchanged.

In regards to pioneer.

What happens to getting a horse?

I will allow it at the level you would normally receive the ability yes.

Skip the mystery spell at 8th, 12th, and 18th. You may take an extra revelation at those levels instead.

Seth86 wrote:

Right, completely blanked on that.

Ignore the horse bit, pick a second skill for the +1 bonus and one of the two becomes a class skill for you.

I'm going to say no on bats even with their wings unusable, as bats in Redwall are 100% completely blind, and properly enforcing a fully blind PC is a bit more extra work than I want to deal with in this campaign.

Quote:

Shifter is fine. I wanted to avoid typical wildshape - since, y'know, you're all already animals - but picking up this or that trait from other creatures is more workable.

Only things I'm seeing on this are your type - should be Animal [Mustelid] - and the languages - Elven et. al. are no longer in use, you'd be using Mouse (Common, everyone's freebie), Mustelid as your racial, then Mole, Shrew, Badger, etc. as other languages. Sylvan is fine as-is.

Thanks. I'll have to edit my build a bit. In regards to the extra plus one when I get the chance

Will probably take Nature and make it a class skill.

Couldn't help but use the name Woozle. Winnie the Pooh and all that

Woozle Story:

Like many ferrets, he had a pension to get into trouble. Willing or not. And often he didn't care. Be it his own doing or someone else's. Trouble was fun. It got a rise out of people. Made others act in ways they normally didn't. Which in a way proved his point, in his eyes, that people were mostly in it for themselves

But as he grew older, the pranks and all the other things began to seem a bit stale and boring. He moved away where no one knew him, and began to make his own little spot in the world away from most. Living off the land, hiding from would-be bandits and the like. He knew their ways, he probably wouldve ended up a bandit if not for him becoming bored.

When the call went out to go explore a new land, he was ready for it. Very few would blame him for things he probably wouldve done when he was still a kid. So now he wants to prove that the skills he picked up along the years could be used for more than just causing trouble

Was using Herolab, I will have to go and change all the nuances and setting specific things at a later time.

Crunch and light fluff is available for William Quilliam, Hedgehog Oracle. I put it all on MythWeavers because that's what I'm used to, but I can transfer it elsewhere as well.

I’ve added some brief notes about Dahlia Churchmouse’s background and description to her character profile page.

Thanks for everyone who's expressed interest! I'll be making my decisions either later tonight or tomorrow morning and posting up the choices tomorrow. I've loved the interest and enthusiasm here and I'm a bit sad I can't take everyone, some of these characters are very interesting and it's going to be a tough decision.

If picked, just put a link in your alias's bio or paste the info in the alias description, whichever works for you! I don't really care overmuch about format, just as long as I have access to it.

Finishing the final touches on my flame oracle, will have a post form her alias shortly.

And here she is! Ended up going a little bit more mystical than I originally intended, but I think it is still mysterious enough to allow you to tie in whatever entity you wish to actually be behind the fiery serpent in her visions.

As an oracle, Sylthara has the cure spells added to her spells known list but I do not really intend to have her be a dedicated healer. Her natural prowess in melee combat and eventual damaging fire spells will solidify her combat role, while also having a fairly nice Diplomacy skill to start talks before the claws and fire come out.

Let me know if anything needs to be changed/adjusted, as I am not the biggest expert on the setting of Redwall (yet). Thanks for your consideration!

Edit: forgot to drop the appearance ref. Loved the look of this guy since I saw him in Bloomburrow (MtG set I mentioned earlier).

Thanks once again for everyone who contributed a character, and once more I'm sorry I can't take everyone - there are some fun characters here that I'm a little sad I can't invite in.

That said! Here are the four I've chosen. Welcome to the campaign, feel free to hop over to the Discussion chat and get to know each other!

Kizzirak Devorst
Tawnystripe
Dahlia Churchmouse
Slythara Flamescale

Thank you all so much! Here's looking forward to a great campaign. Eulalia!

Congratulations to you four, have a good game. Again, thanks for running the game GM Umbral Ultimatum, we players do appreciate it.

Hey there, ladies gents and nons. Unfortunately, we've had to bid one of our participants farewell early on in our story - Slythara/Bigrig's got some stuff going on IRL that's preventing them from continuing to play through the game.

Thankfully, as much as can be said as such, it's still in the "prologue" section of the story set in Redwall Abbey - the party has yet to depart to the Deep Green and begin Kingmaker proper.

If there's anyone who submitted a character before who is still interested in participating and willing to take Slythara's place, I'll be happy to consider bringing them in. Will only keep this slot open for a few days, since only looking for one more PC. Thanks in advance!

*Waves*

Still interested :-)

I'd be interested but I'd like to switch my candidate back to my original idea of a healing oracle, if you'll allow it.

Poe Sootfeather wrote:

That's exactly the kind of character we'd need, so yeah feel free.

Here is Bertram the Sighted (often called Bertie the Semi-Sighted) oracle and soothsayer. I still need to work on his description and backstory, but his stats should be all there.

Bertie's role:
Bertie is a solid healer. As he goes up in level, he'll do both Skill-based and magical healing quite well. However, he'll be far more than a healbot. His FCBs at every level will expand his spell list. And with Spirit Guide, he'll be adding more useful offensive (arcane and divine) spells to his list.

I've added a quick and dirty version of his backstory to the profile. Let me know if you'd like to see more detail. Thanks!

Well, you lost an oracle, and another oracle has put themselves up for adoption... so I will bow-out of recruitment. Have fun :-)

Thanks for your interest at least Luke!

Welcome to the team Stormraven, hop over to the chat and I'll get you into the story ASAP once I have a moment.
