If I understand the new Magus Remastered rules correctly, even though the physicial attack is a miss (but not a crit fail), the thunderstrike spell damage still affects the creature who needs a save to avoid some or all.

Is that your understanding also?

Just read the new spellstrike. What you put is correct.

Below ten seemed like a good 'good chance of a crit killing you' danger. Hence Knick getting the healing.
