Obozaya splits open the rat, causing the other to panic and scurry off!
Combat over!
It looks like these rats built their nest from fragments of destroyed repair drones, a mk 1 serum of healing and a weird rod-like piece that doesn't seem like it came from a drone.
Skittermancer Technomander |
Skittermancer sifts through the junk of the nest, always curious about junk. He recognizes the healing serum, but healing serums are well known so he just handed it off to one of the others.
But he does pause over the weird rod-like piece. "I wonder what this is?" he pockets it since you never know when a weird rod-like piece will come in handy.
Shlushshla |
Shlushshla examines the bite mark on its tentacle.
"This seems like a job for a pest control company, and some poison gas. But then I guess we wouldn't get paid."
Shlushshla listens for any rat-like sounds coming from behind the door to the east or the door to the south.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
The door the south opens up to a supply room is filled with electrical components and tools in complete disarray. After a thorough search, the room reveals an engineering specialty tool kit, numerous containers
and buckets, and a box labelled 'replacement parts' that contains a brand new control module.
bigrin42 - Obozaya |
"Can anyone figure out what that rod does? Maybe it's part of the control system?" Obazaya cleans the rat blood from her doshko and shoulders it, peering at the piece.
As the southern door opens, the soldier spins to confront...the engineering closet. "Oh hey! This could be useful. Just need to find where to plug it in."
She moved to the eastern door and opens it, doshko ready.
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Obozaya opens the door, which leads to a large room after passing through a corridor.
The plants in this room are well‑tended and lush. A mix of flowers, ferns, and vines spill from pots and rise from organized plots of dirt on the floor. The large, transparent aluminum window allows plenty of sunlight into the area. A green‑skinned woman clipping a bush turns and smiles. “Welcome to Station Green, my friends. Don’t you love what I’ve done with the place? Buildings like this should be part of growing new things, not destroying the old. Don’t you agree?”
See handouts
ng-Dizzy |
"Hi, I'm sorry but the plant need to return to generate energy, can we help you in some other way maybe? We have a nufriend that will love to help."
Copy-paste dialogs is handouts? OK, figure it already I supposed..
Shlushshla |
"Oh, erm, yes. Green by name, green by nature now. Great work. But as my colleague says, we're just here to do some repairs. Don't mind us."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Oh, no, no power from the this plant. My beautiful sleeper moss has put the plant to sleep, it is now a quiet garden of peace and tranquility!
She's not beyond reason, but is going to need some convincing. Bluff, Intimidate and Diplomacy could help, as well as Culture, Life Science, Physical Science for rational arguments
ng-Dizzy |
"Don't forget, please, that the byproduct of this plant is carbon dioxide, which will help your plants. Can't we reach a deal, maybe? Please understand that we have a bounty – oops, a job to do."
life science: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Can do physical too but decided that she will like more a life science explanation..
Shlushshla |
"It'll work out better for you, and your plants, if we can get the power flowing again. So long as it's working, nobody will care if you're here. Otherwise, they'll clear everything out. Worse still, if they think sleeper moss is a threat to other power plants, they'll classify it as a dangerous weed, and kill it off wherever they find it."
Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
The otherworldly visitor seems unimpressed so far. Of course sleeper moss is a threat to the power plant, silly. The beautiful moss makes sure these plants can grow quietly, without all of these ugly industrial sounds. Don't you like how peaceful it is here?
Maybe Obozaya or Skittermancer can 'convince' her?
bigrin42 - Obozaya |
"Look lady, I'm not saying you're coo-coo-cachoo, but the fact is that this power plant needs to go back online to help all the residents of this community. You are putting lives at danger with this nonsense, so make like a tree and get on out of here!"
Obozaya didn't quite raise her doshko threateningly. More like a shrug of her massive armored shoulders that happened to bounce the weapon up and down a bit.
intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Hmm, the visitor says, looking quite warily at Obozaya's doshko. Alright, there might be a better way. I'll leave, but you have to promise me three things: you have to replant the plants inside Station Green, you have to set aside a new green space powered by the same reactor and you have to preserve a portion of natural habitat in and around Thamal from development. Only then I will leave... Do you accept?
Skittermancer Technomander |
"Certainly! Those are all very reasonable requests. We'll be happy to do those three things if it means there will be a peaceful resolution," Skittermancer says, agreeably and nods rapidly.
He moves forward, offering three of his hands for her to shake to confirm the deal.
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Ah, uhm, oh, yeah Qhibell says as she ponders which hand to shake, then settles for the top one, as it's closest to her. Deal! But I will come to check if you're keeping your part of the bargain. I'll take my precious sleeper moss with me already...
The woman leaves off, giving the group free reign of the area. There's a large reactor here, but the generator that usually drives these is currently off.
ng-Dizzy |
"I'm usually for peaceful resolutions, but we will not stay here afterward. I hope the council, or whatever it's called, will honor our deal."
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
You can make a Computers or Engineering check on the reactor, or explore further
ng-Dizzy |
"I will try to help, will nufriend help too?"
computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Dizzy will put his trusty toolbox at work to try and turn on the plant, will he remain focused?
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Dizzy has a look at the reactor, and notices several things. First, the power is off. The way these plants work is that there's usually a separate generator, which must be turned on, and then the reactor works with the right input, based on control rods and computer interfaces. Both are broken, but fortunately you have already found the right spare parts. There's more missing, though: the lubricant oil seems to have leaked out, and some heavy duty wiring is needed to repair some of the damage.
In addition, mystical energy has built up, caused by the presence of the weird visitor, which must be flushed (With a mysticism check)
Shlushshla |
"You feel that tingle in your 19th chakra? There's a strong build up of energy here."
Shlushshla spreads its tentacles wide and embraces the reactor.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
"Hmm. I'm struggling to find an outlet."
Skittermancer Technomander |
"I think you're supposed to hold your fingers like this," Skittermancer says, twisting one of his hands in a strange way.
"Or maybe it's this...or this...or this...or this...or this," he continues, moving each of his hands into a different mystic gesture.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
ng-Dizzy |
"OK, let's give it a try"
Dizzy try to calm himself and be one with the moss?
Mysticism: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Dizzy having some difficulty to calm himself but he think he did good.
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
It takes a few attempts, but Skittermance and Dizzy finally manage to purge the magical energy from the reactor. That's one step closer to a functioning power station.
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Do you want to investigate any different areas on the map? There's doors to the north and east
Shlushshla |
"Nice work! I mean, I almost had it, but thanks for the assist."
"So, what was it we're missing? Oil and wires? Maybe there's some in here."
Shlushshla opens the door to the east.
Skittermancer Technomander |
Skittermancer makes a slight pushing/settling gesture with his hands as though ensuring that the mystic energy stays in place.
Then, he turns to follow Obozaya to one of the closed doors.

The door leads to a corridor, which in turn leads to a solarium. The room has a glass ceiling and is filled with panels to collect solar power. Potted plants have been placed on several of the solar panels. There's a discarded bundle of heavy-duty wiring lying on the floor.
A3
The room is connected to another place by a small corridor. This room has some bunk beds, that have been carefully transformed into flower beds, it seems. Colorful flowers grow in lush bunches from soil stuffed inside the cut‑open mattresses.
ng-Dizzy |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
"This place is rather green, no? Why not do power from the sun, is it possible?"
"Footprints here, broke the promise already the green lady?"
"Hey, look, wires!"
Skittermancer Technomander |
"Hey, wire! We need wire. I'm going to take the wire," Skittermancer says.
"I'm helping!" he says as he picks it up. He also moves some of the plants off the solar panels, though he does his best to put them in spots that won't be in the shade.
"That's a good way to recycle old mattresses," he says as they see the room with the makeshift flower beds.
"Oh! They're flower BEDS. I get it," he says and laughs far too hard.
Shlushshla |
Shlushshla helps clear off the solar panels.
"So, just some oil needed. Hopefully there's some in this last room. Otherwise someone's going to need to take a trip to a hardware store."
"Are we ready to move on?"
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
The last room. A large, circular generator sits dormant in the center of
a room filled with plant life. Vines curl up and around pipes and wires, ferns hang from ceiling lights. There's also some rests of moss, that might have covered the full wall at some point.
The generator takes a Computers or Engineering check to turn on
ng-Dizzy |
"Somebody said something about power?" Dizzy will check that he won't harm no plant and will try to turn on power.
Computers: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Life science: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Rk for fun.
"Can someone help? All this green makes me Dizzy.."
bigrin42 - Obozaya |
While the tech team worked on the generator, Obozaya set about clearing the vegetation away from the generator, piling it all up in one corner for later disposal. When she got to the sleeper moss, she took note of the name and sealed her armor's environmentals before hauling it away.
"Anyone find the oil we needed?"
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Any have any idea on where to get oil?
Shlushshla |
"Good point. Maybe we can find the barrel that it spilt out of. I'm no engineer, but I'm not sure if puddle oil is what you want for precision machinery."
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
In the area with the oil, you can try Physical Science, Life Science, or Engineering
Obozaya manages to collect a good quantity of the oil, about 1 bulk worth, and it is surprisingly uncontaminated.
ng-Dizzy |
"My dream job dealing with oil, let's check it if it's good and set everything up?"
What is the check for? Can roll for both life and physical science?
AbadarCorp Entertainment |
Physical Science to indentify the oil, Engineering to identify the scattered metal components on the floor, Life Science to identify what disassembled the metal components
