GM Super Zero |

Please fill out RPG Chronicles and enter your information on the Slides (both linked above) prior to the start of Gameday on September 4th.
Any GM Glyphs to share, or anything else I should know about your character before we begin?
Please make sure to include an e-mail address on RPGChronicles. In addition to being the easiest way for me to get you your Chronicles after the game, this event offers door prizes--but you can only win if you've submitted an e-mail address.
Feel free to start introducing your characters in the Gameplay thread.

There aren't any! Sorry, backup GM who was told I probably wouldn't be needed--I didn't have things ready to go. I put up this thread so there'd be something to link to to get started, but haven't actually linked the other things yet.
I will when I get home from work. I'll put them in the "short description" on the Campaign tab. You don't actually have to navigate to that tab. The advantage of putting them there is that they'll be visible at the top left of any page within the game, just above the tabs.
They'll also be visible from your Campaigns page. You can find that by going to your profile and clicking on the "Campaigns" tab. If this is your only one that might not be particularly useful to you, but if you're interested in starting pbp on the forum I'd suggest you also join the Cottonseed Lodge. From there you can join other games, although there's lull in new games at the moment. There often is shortly before events like this one, because people put their games there instead of starting them at the lodge.
To add a campaign to your list, you just have to post in the Gameplay thread. If you look at my post in that thread, it says you can "dot in"--"Dotting" is slang on this forum for doing that, because threads you've posted in display a dot next to them on the forum menu.
If you're not ready to start making gameplay posts, you can post literally anything and then immediately delete the post. Deleting the post doesn't remove the dot, so you can still join that way.
This forum actually has some pretty nice pbp tools. It competes with some forums I've seen that are dedicated to it. Most general forums that have a pbp section have, at best, a built-in die roller.

Elven women aren't really Griss' type. He is also in morning for his previous fiance, a Talden noblewoman who died during the revolution.

I’m unsure of what’s needed exactly.
Do you want rolls from everyone?
Two rolls from one person?
Seems like Anjo should take the lead again here anyway.

GM Super Zero |

Checks until you get two successes, to see how long it takes.
They didn't have to be from the same person, though Anjo's sufficiently good at it that it was probably the best tactic.
This one is "they can attempt" a check, which is a little vague isn't it? Again I think one person should take the lead, though others could Aid.

For Part 2s Exploration Events, again, no real preference.
Numerical order?
Reverse Numerical order? Something else?

On the Path (a benefit that you haven't used yet, applies to your next combat encounter).
Do we know what the benefit is?
Does it only apply to Part 2?Do we players think it might be worth focusing on the non combat events of Part 2 and saving the benefit for a later, less optional encounter?

Seem to be in a different time zone than everyone else, everyone posted overnight for me.
At least we get to rest, that clears the Fatigued right?

![]() |

I'm in the UK and work nights.
I post all over the place.
I believe the rest clears all outstanding conditions, but best to hear it from Zero.

![]() |

It was more a question rather than a decision.
I’m still happy with 1, 2, 3, 4.

![]() |

I will be unavailable Saturday and Sunday.
As it is BakBat's turn are we going on a break until Monday or botting on?

![]() |

As a matter of SOP, Anjo will always refocus after combat if he needs to. He will also always set prey whenever he successfully tracks someone.
Since I know PbP can transition from non-combat into combat without players getting a chance to post, If Anjo approaches an unknown creatures, he will set them as prey, even during dialogue.

I’m having trouble with slides while I’m out at the moment. Which slide is it?

![]() |

I'm still having trouble with the slides, but the problem now is moving my token. Would someone kindly move me as indicated so that I end up north of Griss and West of Red please.

Defense Events:
1. Putrid Pests (Combat)
2. Direct Defenses (Social Skills)
3. Magical Protections (Ritual Assistance)
4. Intercepting Supplies (Investigation)
Vote now!
Know Your Enemy: The enemies are slowed by the remnants of the town’s defenses, allowing the PCs to be more deliberate in their choices. All PCs gain a +1 circumstance bonus to all skill checks in their first non-combat encounter.

Numerical order again?
Unless we think speed matters?
I get the feeling we do combat slower than skill checks.

![]() |

Really tempted to use my last HP to try and get a roll over 10 on this charmed NPC.

![]() |

I will be away Monday.
If you need to BOT me, please consider the following actions in preference order:
1) If BakBat can get all four in a fireball without hitting an ally at fourth level.
2) If BakBat can target three enemies, then Scorching Ray at third level.
3) Produce flame at whatever target the group is focusing attention on.

I'd like to stick to guarding with my athletics.
I think Griss and Bakbat's Intimidation or Crafty's Craft would work better for being secondary casters, but I could use my Performance to secondary cast if any of those 3 would prefer to guard?
It's handy that intimidation can work in either slot.

I will be away from Friday night until Sunday night. Feel free to BOT me (as above)

GM Super Zero |

GM discretion. And I don't mean "it's vague and I made a ruling," I mean the rule is literally: "The GM determines whether you can use reactions before your first turn begins, depending on the situation in which the encounter happens. Once your first turn begins, you gain your actions and reaction."
I usually say yes unless there's a reason not to, but I know there are other GMs that are stricter.

BakBat will be away for another day or so apparently.

![]() |

Numerical order again?
Although I'm mildly unsure about the sound of open ended.

Nagaikaze wrote:I don't really have any more information about it.
Can more be known about the circumstances of his disappearance and reappearance?
Shame. It sounds like there's a lot of story unsaid there.

This is probably the last chance to make decisions regarding loot acquired.
We've accumulated:
Post #39 - two vials of moderate healing potion, along with a +1 Striking Shifting cold iron longsword.
Post #76 - A leaf feather token (tree) and a 2nd-level wand of longstrider.
Post #184 - an ornate prayer book to Yuelral. Tucked inside is a 3rd-level scroll of heal.
Post #192 - four lesser elixirs of life and a lesser cold iron blanch.
Post #233 - Each PC can take one common magical or alchemical consumable item of their level or lower.
Someone who isn't already benefiting from a status bonus to speed should be longstrided.
