I hear some banging noises and some grunting deeper into the cave. I bet our Ettin is up ahead. Let's try and be stealthy. Sneak up on it- if it's making enough noise to mimic a shrieker.

Torgen advances. Knowing he's the man in the front. He uses his dark vision and tries to keep a little ahead of the rest of the group . His intention- whatever bad happens - will happen to him first.

After a minute of moving through the caverns and exploring, you hear the loud *snap* of a chain breaking, followed by a bellow of triumph and loud, thudding footsteps.

Suddenly, a large, two-headed beast comes into view, wielding a nasty-looking flail in one hand and holding the dead, crushed body of an aged woman in the other hand.

The two-headed giant is wearing a large pendant that you clearly recognize as the pendant that was granted by the dragon to the town of Highdelve.

But you also see that strange cords are attached to the amulet and it is blood-covered.

+++++++++

All over the Ettin’s body strange bloody runes are carved into its skin.

Kn(arcana or religion or planes) DC 15:

These are diabolic runes which could be used to protect giants from draconic beings with the right focus. And the amulet could serve as exactly that focus. Essentially, you assume that Aureliax would not have been able to protect the town as it would not have been able to harm this Ettin.

Torgen looks, and knew what to expect.
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 didn't beat a 17.

Still, the back of his mind must have thought the beast would be chained. Or, he thought there'd be a evil overlord conversation where the cult priestess would talk for 2 minutes about her plans and how we'd never stop her.
This situation broke the mold, so it broke Torgen's rythmn.

Yes, Alyyra! I feel the rythmn of your music. I'm getting the groove.
WHHOOOOOAAAA that sucker is big and fast!

@gm- I think I get a +4 dodge bonus to AC as a Dwarf against Giants. if so, AC: 22, HP: 13/13

Yeah You ugly brute. You helped with half our mission. You waxed the old cult leader. Now how'z about you surrender so we can complete the second half of our mission and be victorious pathfinders? So we can write your submission down properly -which head is Ned and which head is Puckett?

Torgen looks to keep the attention of the Ettin, as he's got the strongest constitution of the bunch.

Torgen just can't get inside the long reach of the creature. He takes half hearted swipes as be bides his time for a more effective strike.

Not able to sustain her music any longer, Alyyra draws her sword once again and moves into melee with the creature. Not what I had in mind when I signed up...

The map's not been updated and is unclear; am I able to move into flank with Torgen without provoking? If so, I'd like to do that; otherwise, move + draw is all I've got, given my +0 BAB. Additionally, haven't seen a post from Tuke or Kyomi, and we really need their help right now! I was worried this would happen; Torgen and I cannot take this thing down by ourselves!

Seeing that this is a free for all melee, Torgen looks to up the ante and help give someone a flanking position.

With a double hit your dwarven ally smashes the knee of the Ettin which makes it fall and on the way down he cuts off the left head.

You only hear a ...

"Erghhhh .... ahrghhrrhhrhh ..." from the remaining head and the large giant drops to the ground like a stone.

~
Clinging to the foul skin of the Ettin you find a beautiful, glittering golden pendant in the shape of a dragon's head which was smeared with blood. You can easily search the rest of the cavern, finding nothing but filth.

Additionally, a ring and several Thassilonian relics are bound to the Ettin's right hand.

Kn arcana or planes or religion DC 15:

The markings which were cut into the skin of the Ettin are diabolic runes which could be used to protect giants from draconic beings with the right focus. Together with the ring as well as the relics, the amulet could serve as exactly that focus. Essentially, you assume that Aureliax would not have been able to protect the town as it would not have been able to harm this Ettin.

The woman that the Ettin dropped is probably Gilda Korgren, the mother of the Tiefling. She also has runes carved all over her body.

Heal DC 10:
It looks as if she died from these rune injuries and not through the hands of the Ettin.

Ok! Status check. Who is about to fall over from exhaustion? Let's get you looked at and bind your wounds.

Torgen looks to get help to Kyomi first and them Tuke.

After seeing that people are okay, he looks at the stuff.

It seems as if we prevented the Ettin from doing some town smashing and some people killing! That evil mom of a Tielfling had some nasty stuff she wanted to do.

Torgen looks for weapons that might have originated from his family's armory. There was a crate stolen and weapons taken.

You have to either use healing magic or a dc 15 heal check to stabilize.
