Alie casts the necessary spells to keep the group moving forward.
”Janira! We’re coming for you. Hang on,” she calls out as she bolsters Flint with flight magic.

![]() |

"Janira?" Marta queries, though part of her wonders if it but an illusion. "Do you know of any traps in the room?"
Aside, to the others, she makes a suggestion. "If any of you have a spell to pierce trickery, I recommend casting it."
I believe both Agata and Allie have True Sight.

![]() |

Theodric flies directly to Janira to free her. "Hang on Pathfinder. We're here to help you. After they've patched up your wounds and wet your whistle with some water- or ale if you prefer?- then I'm sure they'll all appreciate your bardic music as we free the others!"

![]() |

Zaarah rolls her eyes.
“Good to see you but we risked a lot to get here. Anybody else with you Janira?!“
she asks.

![]() |

Just an FYI, flight is not a prerequisite to maneuver in this channel here as the descending passage slants down into chamber on a slope to the floor level…
Flint studies Janira and discovers that the person, or thing, hanging there is not who she seems to be…and Alie’s spell confirms it. The creature is instead a huge demonic looking creature; four arms grace the torso of this towering monstrosity, its eyes shine with a mix of intelligence and cruelty…
At the same time, Theodric, brave but foolhardy, rushes forward to free Janira before Flint and Alie can warn him…he is surprised as ‘Janira’ suddenly transforms into a huge demon and strikes at him with a pincer…
Pincer vs FFAC: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 25 = 37
Damage: 2d12 + 12 ⇒ (7, 4) + 12 = 23
…and it lands, tearing into the flesh of the Taldan…
…at the same time, two other identical demons appear, one in the southern center of the room, the second surprising the others in addition to blocking them from entering, striking with a pincer at the first in line, Flint…
Pincer vs FFAC: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 41
Damage: 2d12 + 12 ⇒ (2, 12) + 12 = 26
…and it too catches the dwarf off guard, tearing into the meaty part his thigh…
Flint, I remembered to subtract the temp hp this time ;)
The remaining demon casts something…
…and the power of chaos bursts into the middle of the passageway, affecting all there, as colored lights of energy reflect all round, ricocheting off the walls, causing intense pain to all of you whom are lawful or neutral in alignment… (Choatic aligned PCs are immune)
Chaos Hammer: 5d8 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 7, 2) = 23
Need a DC20 Will save; if passed, Lawful PCs take half damage (11) while Neutral PCs take 1/4 damage (5)
Agata: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7; +4 if heightened awareness active, +2 if hunter’s blessing applies
Flint: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (12) + 26 = 38
Marta: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25; +4 if heightened awareness active, +2 if hunter’s blessing applies
Theodric: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Zaarah: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Alie: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Demons: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Having to create a new map to accommodate the combat; however, those with initiative should be able to post their actions/attacks as there’s a huge demon blocking the passageway so they can attack or cast as they wish…hope to have the map up a little while later…

The heck with that.
Marta speaks loudly and commandingly at General Irentios.
"Cease this assault. You belong with us."
Marta attempts a DC 25 dominate person on General Irentios.
Swaying Word (Sp): At 8th level, once per day you may speak a word of divinely inspired wisdom that causes a single creature to switch its alliance to you. The target must be within line of sight and able to hear you. If he fails his Will save, he is affected by dominate person, except the duration is only 1 minute.
If green stays up, or if green blocks movement even while out cold, Marta will cast Burst of Speed to slip past. Otherwise she will just run on in without casting the spell and take an AoO. Assuming the latter, Marta will use Panther Style/Claw/Parry to retaliate with a stunning fist from a flanking position.
- Unarmed Strike attack roll: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (19) + 29 = 48
- Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 (non-lethal)
- Damage Deliquescent Gloves: 1d6 ⇒ 3 (acid)
- Damage Precise Strike: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 (precision)
- Intimidate, heroism: 1d20 + 40 ⇒ (18) + 40 = 58 (-2 if no Halo bonus)
- Stunning Fist DC = 25
If the hit connects the creature will be at a -2 to hit and damage on her with the AoO due to Panther Parry which goes off before the AoO. If it hits and Marta makes her intimidate check it will cause the opponent to be shaken for as many rounds as the non-lethal damage done because of the Enforcer feat. Also there is the stunning fist to deal with.
Note this depends on reach. She cannot use UC if it's reach is 15' and I will have to redo the math using the longspear for the retaliatory strike. This is one of those turns that would be much easier in person since so much depends on what happens during each action.

Strongly Chaos-Aligned and Evil-Aligned: Nonevil or nonchaotic creatures take a –2 circumstance penalty on all Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based checks in the Moonscar. This penalty stacks with itself for creatures that fall into both categories (-4).
Impeded Magic: To cast a spell or use a spell-like ability with the good or lawful descriptor, a caster must make a concentration check (DC 20 + the level of the spell).

"That will not last long. Let's get him (her? what is his or her race?) secured."
Marta retrieves some Shackles of Compliance from her backpack and, provided she has time, slaps them on the General's wrists, behind his back.

General Irentious is a human male
Marta is able to get the magical cuffs upon the general while he’s still paralyzed…

Theodric takes out a thick rope from his backpack and ties up the General thoroughly, winding the coils of rope several time around his body to restrain both arms and legs.
the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus; If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target’s CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.
DC to escape bonds, CMB, Heroic Invocation, Haste: 20 + 26 + 4 + 1 = 51

With the danger temporarily averted, Alie casts Greater Dispel Magic on the general, trying to shake whatever magicks were clearly affecting him.
Dispel check 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26

With the battle over Flint's Judgement ends abruptly. His fresh wound is mostly healed (Now only -5 hit points on the board).
"Excellent job Theodric. You must have been reading my mind as I was just going to suggest that you hog-tie the general. Magical handcuffs are fine and all but nothing beats a well tied rope!"
The dwarf collects his durable arrows from the fallen demons and casts a quick spell on himself removing what is left of his wounds.
Cure Light Wounds, CL 9: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
@GM Otha - Flint is at full hit points.
He gestures in the general's direction and gives the man a magical pat down for any equipment, hidden or otherwise that the man might be carrying.
41 Perception on a take 10 to magically feel or see any visible or hidden equipment on the general (Sift spell).

Marta follows Flint's example and casts a clw on herself, though her spell seems to be a git more effective.
clw: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Which clears up all the damage on herself except deep wound which turns into a small cut. 1 HP damage left.
Before they move on, which I expect will be after they question the General, she will also refresh the heightened awareness on herself.

"Alright... the good soldier here will be ready to give us his report I think. I'm glad we have an interrogator.. erm... I mean an inquisitor in our midst! Marta, you carry a long feather for tickling yes?" jokes Theodric, pulling out a singed maplewood stick and a slightly dusty lackered mahogany stick. He gives both to Sweet Mawd, kindly asking her to start the stitching process.
Maplewood stick 2 chrges: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (1, 8) + 2 = 11
The Maple stick burns off, ashes falling to the ground...
Mahogany stick 8 chrges: 16d8 + 24 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 2, 4, 2, 8, 7, 8, 2, 5, 5, 4, 1, 8, 5) + 24 = 95
The mahogany stick strains but holds... perhaps one or two charges remaining...
"My old Lionsblade weapons master gave me that one twenty years ago... I hope we're getting closer to finding Janira so that i can keep this old piece of wood above my estate's mantle. I would hate to see it go in flames, but if it comes to that, it will have served its purpose..."

The first thing Marta does is detect alignment to find out if the General is evil, good, chaotic, or lawful.
then she starts asking questions.
"I understand you are known as The General. Why are you here and helping demons?"
Though inwardly she is seething, she maintains a straight face.

Flint also has methods of determining the truth or forcing discussion. Marta is not the only inquisitor in the party although she is the most experienced. The dwarf is confident that the general will be happy to tell the party his plan and how we all will be splendidly defeated in the coming battles.
While he watches and listens for the truth he also looks for signs of domination or charm which will help to better explain the general's current behaviour.
25 Sense Motive on a take 10 with planar penalties (it is DC 15 to detect domination and DC 25 to determine if a person is charmed).

Flint searches the man, finding him armed to the teeth, carrying a greataxe, heavy crossbow, shortsword, flail, plate mail, and decked out in clothes/accessories to match (I've blown up his picture in a link below)...
After Theodric wraps him up tighter than Saran-wrap, General Irentios starts to come around. He sneers at you and flexes his muscles but cannot break the shackles nor ties that bind...
Alie casts dispel magic but cannot discern any notable difference in the man; she's reasonably certain he's under no spell. Flint nods in agreement as he sees no sign of him being either dominated or charmed. Marta detects that the General has a chaotic evil alignment...
"I understand you are known as The General. Why are you here and helping demons?"
Irentios smirks at Marta's question. "I once commanded Mendevian armies within the Worldwound...but Izmiara has shown me the error of my ways. I now answer only to her; she is as wise as she is beautiful...you'll get nothing from me..."

General Irentios (shackled, tied up)
Strongly Chaos-Aligned and Evil-Aligned: Nonevil or nonchaotic creatures take a –2 circumstance penalty on all Intelligence-, Wisdom-, and Charisma-based checks in the Moonscar. This penalty stacks with itself for creatures that fall into both categories (-4).
Impeded Magic: To cast a spell or use a spell-like ability with the good or lawful descriptor, a caster must make a concentration check (DC 20 + the level of the spell).

"You're an idiot, sucking up to some demon in the shape of a mortal woman. To her you're just a meat puppet, like the rest of the mortals of the universe. The fact that you commanded armies into the Worldwound is commendable, but as they say, power corrupts, as evidenced in your fall from grace here. Be honest: what would you do with us, if the roles were reversed? mercy? imprisonment? punishment? or death?"

![]() |

Flint nods at Theodric's comments.
"True justice would be to deliver this general to his mistress in chains and watch as she slowly tears him to pieces for his stupidity and weakness."
"Personally I think that we should grant him a quick death now. It is a practical and humane solution."

![]() |

"We'll see about that."
"How would you like to pay, right now, for all the sins you have committed?"
Activating her amulet of might fists and casting Instrument of Agony she slugs the general twicew in rapid succession and gives him a good unhealthy dose of non-lethal damage(I'm going to say she restrains herself and does 15 damage per hit).
If a hit connects and Marta makes her intimidate check with a non-lethal attack it will cause the opponent to be shaken for as many rounds as the non-lethal damage done, provided non-lethal damage works on it because of the Enforcer feat. A second hit will cause the opponent to be sickened due to the Cruel enchantment on her amulet if it is activated.
Then she casts a spell she has never cast before, seeing this worm as the ideal subject.
intimidate, halo, heroism, planar penalty, instrument of agony: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (19) + 38 = 57
Instrument of Agony discharged on second blow, DC 20, -2 to the ST from intimidate
Forced Repentance, DC 22, -2 to the ST from intimidate, perhaps additional penalties from the instrument of agony if he fails that save.
I sure hope it works. It would be fun to see him subjected to that spell. If not, she will cast it a second time unless there is a high spell resistance.
