Flint smiles at Marta.
"We do not have to open them to see if they hold any objects."
"And if they are trapped I am going to know it."
Flint casts his Sift spell to examine the sarcophagi at a distance scanning them magically for any openings or objects inside.
41 Perception on a take 10 (including the -5 penalty from the spell and planar penalties) for features and objects but not creatures.
He examines the outside of the stone sarcophagi for traps as well.

After struggling with the writing, which is obviously abyssal by its chaotic and jagged lines, Marta's face grows disapproving.
"I can't tell you exactly what it says, but the general gist of it is to suggest we give in to the sins inside us, rest in this room, and something about possession and shadow. Not. Sooner we move on the better I say, and giving in to my baser impulses is not my style."
She stares daggers at Zaarah as occurs to Marta that Zaarah might just dos something so idiotic.

Zaarah is coming out of her trance and is almost hurt.
“I would never do something so … ehh … crazy … Marta!! Ehh … ok … maybe … no!!“ she says and shakes her head.

"Come now Marta. Maybe Zaarah's experience in dealing with evil and shadows will give us an edge here. Thanks for the warning and translation though: I will ward myself against evil before we move forward!"

Flint detects no traps on or around any sarcophagus nor does he see any openings in any of them. While the sarcophagi are ancients, they are very well maintained and appear to be sealed. In addition, he detects no magic within or around any of the sarcophagi…
Maintaining his concentration a bit longer, Flint detects magic coming from beyond the door to the north of the platform…

Flint grabs his arcane staff and places a longer lasting Shield spell on himself. He puts his staff away and now has his bow in hand.
"Likely where there is magic there is also trouble."
He nods to Zaarah leading the way (presumably with Theoderic).

Yes, that was posted and we are all quite heroic.

Zaarah opens the door and discovers…
This expansive rectangular chamber is filled with bones, piles of rotting flesh, and pools of stagnant blood. A great mound of twisted, half-devoured corpses rises from an alcove in the northeast corner, stretching over halfway to the fifty-foot tall ceiling. Two open passages lead out from the room’s northeastern and southeastern corners, while a single cold iron door (the one you opened) provides egress along the south wall.
The filth that fills this room is so thick and so vile that the entire area is considered difficult terrain. Any living creature that enters the room must succeed at a DC 18 Fortitude save or become nauseated for 1d6 ⇒ 4 rounds from the stench of offal and decay.
After but a moment, you hear a seductive voice. ”Who is it that disturbs the rest of Betcezia? Are you here for pleasure or pain? It matters not as you’ll find pleasure with me is pain. Or perhaps you came to join my army? Speak quickly lest I become bored with you…”

GM, I think that Aura of Purity should give anyone within 10' of Agata immunity to the stench?
Agata listens to the speech of the monstrous Betcezia and titters with delight. "Why, I ain't had such a pleasant offer in many a long year, no I surely hasn't! But afore we git t' the joys ah pillow talk, I think ye might have some friends of our'n an' we've come to fetch 'em. Best be right quick about it too."

@GM Otha - Stench effects are generally fully resisted by Delay Poison as they are considered poison effects (like the stench effect from the Ghoul Touch spell or the Troglodyte' stench ability). I feel that this effect is no different. :)

As Zaarah steps into the demonic dungeon and sees the gruesome scene before her, a wave of revulsion and horror washes over her. She feels sick to her stomach and her heart races with fear.
Despite the overwhelming urge to run away, Zaarah knows that she cannot let this evil go unpunished. She wants to retaliate against whoever or whatever is responsible for this grotesque display of death and destruction. She feels a sense of duty to protect the group and rid the world of this kind of evil.
However, as she looks around the room, she realizes the enormity of the task ahead. The piles of bones and rotting flesh seem to stretch on forever, and the stench is almost unbearable. She starts to feel overwhelmed and doubts her ability to face this kind of evil alone.
“Oh dear Chaldira … “ she just says.
Zaarah takes out her rod of element and casts her most powerful shocking grasp spell and coverts it to acid holding the charge with her black blade Mesh.

Agata will also do a Knowledge check on Betcezia when possible - what type of Knowledge will it be?

Yep, Agata has See Invisibility up. She also automatically knows the school of any spell cast within 60' (so, e.g., she wouldn't automatically know that invisibility was cast, but she would know that an illusion spell (if it was invis) had been cast).

@Agata - A small clarification: Dominate for vampires is a standard action and that is why it is so problematic. :)
I didn't know that! Thought the GM that nearly killed my -01 PC (level 11 Barbarian, in his last hurrah before hitting Seeker stage, took 10 negative levels before finally rolling a nat 20 to kill the last vampire!) had goofed - glad to know that wasn't the case.
Agata

Agata alerts her comrades to everything she knows about vampires. please read the link the GM posted above
GM, how high are the ceilings? Agata and Sweet Mawd are both flying and would definitely like to stay out of reach of the Vampires if possible! :-)
Agata hangs back for the moment, not eager to lead the way into a room filled with vampires. (Her AC is so low they'll have no trouble level draining her into oblivion!)
Instead, she wiggles her eyebrows at Flint and Theodoric and then begins to laugh horribly.
Standard action: Split Hex to use Fortune hex (once/round, roll twice and take the better result on any d20 roll - must be declared before rolling) on both Flint and Theodoric. Duration: 3 rounds but...
Move action: Cackle hex to extend the duration of Fortune for 1 round. Duration is now 4 rounds (i.e. will expire just before Agata's turn on Round 5)
5' step forward
No knowledge check for Betcezia yet since I don't think Agata can see her from her current position (even with See Invisibility). But in the interest of not slowing things down, I'll post my knowledge check in a spoiler so that the GM can give us the relevant info when it becomes relevant.
As usual, use Investigative Mind to roll twice and take the better result (15/17)
In addition, use Lore Needles (1 of 3 daily uses) to use Arcana modifier instead of Religion for the check
Knowledge (Arcana), planar penalty: 1d20 + 40 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 40 - 2 = 44
Knowledge (Arcana), planar penalty: 1d20 + 40 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 40 - 2 = 49
Requesting whatever makes her different from a normal vampire + special attacks, special defenses, immunities, resistances, or whatever the GM wants to give us.
P.s. Forgot to roll these things earlier:
Which save is effected by Dragonbone Divination sticks: 1d3 ⇒ 3 Will
Temp hp from False Life: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Temp hp from Heroic Invocation: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (8, 7) + 4 = 19
| Sweet Mawd |
Sweet Mawd draws another scroll of Haste and casts it on the party members that are within range: Theodoric, Flint, Agata, herself, and Alie. This is from a scroll, so it will expire before Sweet Mawd's turn on round 6
