Sensing the demon attacking the console is the bigger problem, Trajan slides a potion from his bandolier and then drinks it, taking a step forward in preparation for next round.

Trajan takes a move to retrieve the Potion of Fly, standard to drink it, and a 5' step forward.

Vosk quickens the party's limbs.

Doran takes advantage and takes the stairs.

Trajan steps into the room and swigs a potion.

Suddenly, there's an almighty crash as something huge smashes its way through the wall! Although it can't push its whole bulk through, a massive fiend breaches the tower wall and knocks away part of the staircase as its claws and pincers tear down the stone and metal. The giant beast roars in hateful challenge.

The challenge is answered as Ollysta Zadrian and two crusader knights run into the control room. "We'll handle the shemhazian! Get that weapon operational!" she tells you.

Knowledge (planes) DC26:
The gigantic fiend is indeed a Shemhazian demon. More physically powerful than almost any other demon, Shemhazians take great delight in mutilating and devouring their victims.

DC31

Spoiler:
The Shemhazian is a terrifyingly powerful melee combatant, attacking with claws, pincers, bite and tail. But as if that weren't enough its bite drains Strength, and its gaze causes temporary paralysis (and demons and other evil creatures are immune).

DC36

Spoiler:
Like all greater demons, the Shemhazian resists attacks from weapons save for those that are both Cold Iron forged and holy.

Spoiler:
The Shemhazian resists acid, cold and fire and is immune to poison and electricity. It also resists spells.

The Shemhazian can sense Good auras and sees through illusions without effort.

DC51

Spoiler:
A Shemhazian has few spell-like abilities for such a powerful demon, but its magic includes at-will invisibility, telekinesis and teleportation as well as mass inflict wounds, several divinations, blashpemy and summons.

Hskoro sees no obvious answer amidst the complex machinery of the central device, but reasons that the solution likely lies at the control panel on the mezzanine platform at the end of the stairs.

Dexter fires a ray at the creature currently attacking the controls, but sees too little of the fiend to get a clear shot and only strikes the machine. The demon on the platform has Cover against attacks from the ground.

With hastened speed, Radiarch runs into the room with nary any time to take in the sight of the machine before him. He takes to the stairs directly behind his allies, praying Erastil would guide his arrows to smite Red where it stands.

Doran launches a flurry of sword blows against the demon on the stairs. The cold iron blade bites deep! 3 hits - AC is not these monsters' strong point :o Yet the fiend does not fall.

Vosk makes pigs fly! Well, a pig, but a wizard can dream big.

Trajan, already floating off the ground, rises to the control stage and smites the second wrecker demon. He sees that there are 4 receptacles in the control panel that would fit the sacred prisms.

The greater demon pushing its way through the wall speaks: THE WEAPON WILL BE DESTROYED, AS WILL ALL WHO OPPOSE ME!

Pulses of dark energy gather around the giant fiend and then race towards the crusaders, exploding all around them and wracking the living with pain.

Shrugging off the negative energy partially, Radiarch hastens up the stairs to join Doran and Hskoro, hoping this next arrow removes Red from the conflict for good. Hearing his commander's cry for victory, he too joins into the cry, loosing his arrow into the demon. "For Mendev!"

Radiarch echoes the crusaders' cry and sends another arrow into the demon on the stair. Though sorely wounded, the fiend still stands.

Dexter gives a little extra magic to his airborne companion, and the flying boar zips up to the control platform to gore the wrecker demon there, even as Trajan and Doran's limbs lock up.

Hskoro races up the stair.

The fiend on the control platform looks hatefully upon Trajan but turns its attention on the flying boar behind it. Stepping to one side, it tears into Salazar with maw and claw...

Salazar's tough (and enchanted) hide turns the fiend's claws, but what demon can resist the lure of bacon? It takes a bite from the boar, leaving an ugly wound.

Salazar needs a DC15 Fort save vs Curse, if he fails he takes a -1 penalty to CHA checks.

The second wrecker demon grins wickedly, and bites down on Doran whilst the swordsman is helpless.

coup de grace damage (sorry): 2d6 + 24 ⇒ (2, 5) + 24 = 31

DC41 Fort save to survive the coup de grace; and it's probably moot but also a DC15 Fort save vs curse or take a -1 penalty to CHA checks.

Vosk gives himself the power of flight and heads off after his finest companion, even as his body tears from the Demon's magic. "That's an innate form of magic, there's likely more where that came from! Keep it busier Crusaders before we're all ground meat!"

"Cut them down and we have a chance to get that weapon to work!" he cries, just as the Demon lays waste to Doran. Gritting his teeth, he calls out to his allies across the room. "The Prisms! Gather his prisms!" Damn it! We'll all be like him if we don't focus, we can mourn his loss later!

Going to assume Trajan has no way to take actions whilst paralysed.

The grotesque demon on the stairs tears Doran's throat out. The pathfinder is dead before he hits the ground. I'll leave Doran's token on the stairs where he fell, greyed out.

Vosk flies up to the control platform. The wizard sees many dials and switches, and immediately recognises that firing the weapon will require two dials to be turned simultaneously - and one is at each end of the control platform. It will take two people to fire, or one person with very long arms. Reach 10 would do it. With finesse, it should be possible to compensate for some of the damage that has been caused to the device. An INT check or a UMD check can be made by a PC operating the console when it is fired. But it won't fire without four prisms being loaded first.

I'll repeat some of this in Discussion for ease of reference.

The gargantuan demon tries to force its way fully inside the tower. Though it fails, its efforts shake the walls and crack the roof. Rubble tumbles down, striking demon and mortal alike.

bludgeoning damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6) = 12

Everyone gets a DC15 Reflex save for half damage

red reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
green reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

With a massive pincer, the giant fiend swats Ollysta Zadrian backwards and knocks her off her feet.

Zadrian gets up and rejoins the melee, but not without being severely wounded as the demon takes advantage of its greater reach. The two crusaders attack with their swords but cause little or no harm. All three of the Iomadaen Silver Crusaders heal their wounds, but all of them look badly hurt.

Salazar and Trajan attempt a DC19 Fort save or be paralysed for 1 round.

Trajan you can attempt your Reflex save before your Fort save, so you're not paralysed when the rubble falls.

Salazar has Ferocity so he can still act at Negative HP until he reaches his Con and dies full out, he is staggered and will still lose 1 HP a round. 17 Con plus 42 plus 0 counting at the turn gives him 60 pts to work with if my math is right.

Salazar unleashes a tusk at the target. Frankly he can really only see one target, everything else has faded away. Just one enemy right there to maul. His urge to kill has never been so fine tuned. What a great day!

From the map it looks like I *could* have line of sight on the demon through the machinery but I will understand if that is deemed a stretch or impossible. The gigantic fiend is indeed a Shemhazian demon. More physically powerful than almost any other demon, Shemhazians take great delight in mutilating and devouring their victims.

The Shemhazian is a terrifyingly powerful melee combatant, attacking with claws, pincers, bite and tail. But as if that weren't enough its bite drains Strength, and its gaze causes temporary paralysis (and demons and other evil creatures are immune).

Like all greater demons, the Shemhazian resists attacks from weapons save for those that are both Cold Iron forged and holy.

This is what I posted above which means, combined with the Gaze rules I posted in the Discussion tab, Trajan would not have to make a save this round. I also don't think any other PC would need to as the Shemhazin took some type of attack action rather than actively using his Gaze.

Radiarch I cannot work out where your "temp mod +3" on all your saves comes from so I have not applied it. If I've missed something and it's not just a carry-over from a previous scenario please let me know.

Radiarch resists the negative energy assault but his limbs lock up before he can fire another bow shot.

Dexter grabs Doran's prisms call it one move action since they're in the same place and Vosk vanishes the druid, himself, and Hskoro over to the control platform right before the nagaji goes rigid.

Dexter slots a prism home. Trajan does the same, trying to avoid looking upon the terrible shemhazian demon whilst he rapidly heals himself.

The massive fiend lays into the crusaders, rending with claws, snapping with pincers - it kills the two warriors flanking Ollysta Zadrian, before felling the leader of the Silver Crusade with its bite! But Zadrian's divine magic saves her at the last as the wound instantly heals and she strikes back with her blessed blade!

Paladins recognise a Heroic Defiance spell from Zadrian.

Saves vs Gaze are made at the start of your turns if within 30' of the big guy; everyone needs to decide what precaution they will take, then roll 1d100 if averting your eyes, and a DC19 Fort save if needed. If you avert your eyes, close your eyes, or turn your back, then it takes longer to load the control device with prisms and to arm the weapon.
