This recruitment thread is for a Gameday pbp Convention run of 5-13 Weapon in the Rift.
Gameplay will not commence until 11 September 2022.
Please post the usual details of the character you wish to play. I will confirm places once a coherent, in-tier party emerges. The scenario is tier 5-9, and I prefer to have a party within one subtier (so effectively either 5-7 or 7-9).
{Usual details being: Player name, Character name, Character PFS number, Faction, Day job roll (if any), and XP track}

Gummy Bear |

Hi :)
I have a level 7 Wizard I'd like to play.
Player name: Gummy Bear
Character name: Vosk Lazav ("Kiango" for reporting)
Character PFS number: 74244 - 15
Faction: Sovereign Court
Day job: Vosk forgoes a day job roll in favor of the Rising Star Boon (9-08), where he rolls Nobility vs a scaling DC (15 + 1/2 lvl) to earn progress towards becoming a Viscount (currently he is a Baronet). If he beats it by 10 or more, he gets two boxes worth of progress.
Nobility (DC 18): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30
XP track: Normal
Vosk's shtick is enchantments and when that doesn't work, he buffs the party. He brings some knowledge, spellcraft, and linguistic skills. His ideal situation is to bypass combat entirely with diplomacy/bluff though.

I'd definitely be interested in playing this on Marik (he's a level 7 multiclass front-line type of character).
Player Name: Mike
Character Name: Marik "The Ferret"
PFS Number: 317595-5
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day job roll:Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32
XP Track: Normal
Marik's thing is making himself hard to hit, protecting the rest of the party (e.g. with Bodyguard), being diplomatic and being helpful (he's a helpful halfling).

Hi sv, submitting Myth for consideration; he last played during your Ghenett Manor session…
Player Name: Otha
Character Name: Mythryndyr
PFS Number: 239913-2
Character Class/Level: 7th (Sniper 5/ Urban Ranger 2)
Faction: Liberty’s Edge
Progression: Normal
Half-Elf scout/ranged support fighter/rogue; can fight closer in if given a flank. Nothing real quirky though…

Hey, 8th level psychic for consideration.
Player name: Gerald
Character name: Ashwell
Character PFS number: 12445-19
Faction: Dark archive
Day job: Profession Librarian 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
XP track: Normal
Ash enjoys blowing up bad guys’ minds with Mind Thrust. He’s got quite a few knowledge skills and can help with Freedom of Movement and a few other utility type spells. But he mainly crushes minds.

Player name Zin Z'arin (Rob Riemersma)
Character name Mun of Ashava
Character PFS number 192785-1
Faction Silver Crusade
Day job roll Perform (dance): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
XP track normal
Mun is a melee-companion-based oracle with an arcane casting edge. He's had a rough time of late; he's made some choices that don't cast him in a great light, somehow. He could use a mission where he's obviously on the side of the good guys to set his path straight.

Alrighty, given the level of interest - I've had a couple of pm's in addition - I'm going to run two tables, one in each subtier.
Recruitment is now closed. There'll be a total of 12 players. I'll post later with the table allocations. Everyone who's applied here will have a seat, the additions are Shadow Dragon and Yours is Mined (subject to each of them confirming, of course).

So it looks like 5 PCs for the lower tier?
Fighter 6
Paladin 5/Hellknight 1
Bard 5/Oracle 1
Sorcerer 5
Grimdog: Cleric 5
Anyone know of a player with a Rogue in this level range?
I assume the level 7s want to play low low tier?
In case two of the level 7s want to play low tier than I’d rather like to join the high tier table.

I have a tentative table split. Grimdog, tables will be better balanced if you can join the high tier, although if Gummy Bear or Otha want to play up that would work. I wouldn't recommend adding a Wizard into the high tier party that already has an arcanist and a psychic though.
I'm suggesting the following:
Low tier
Gummy bear's wizard 7
Otha's archer 7
Banesama's fighter 6
Top's sorcerer 5
Noral's bard/oracle 6
Shadow Dragon's paladin/hellknight 6
High tier
Gerald's psychic 8
Zin's oracle 8 plus bear
Phaeton's arcanist 9 plus riddywhipple
Yim's bard 8
Mike R's mouser 7
Grimdog
How's that look?

I don't know what the 7s want to do. What I'm seeing in this thread so far besides the lower-tier options are:
1 9th level2 8th levels
3 7th levels
I assumed they would be the higher-tier table.
As I expressed to GM SV in a PM when I read the blurb for the module the terms "complex fail-safes" and "indiscriminate safeguards" just scream the need for a PC that can detect/disable traps that are probably magical in nature.

Like pretty much all pfs scenarios, having a "trapfinder" can be helpful but isn't essential.
I get that but I don't know how many of those scenarios basically scream it at the players. :)
1 bard per table is a good idea; when you have 2 or more bards at a table it turns into an episode of 'Amercia's Got Talent'...;)

Low Tier works for me! Vosk can stomach playing second fiddle if he was playing high tier, but third fiddle?! :P

Thanks for running two tables, that is awesome we have a decent split of high and low tier.
I also have a level 5 druid with boar companion I could easily and happily bring, since I don't think John will need to do any face-work other than aid another with the low tier group. But we can talk about that later for sure.

Yours is mined |

Sorry peeps and GM supervillan,
I’m going to withdraw from this game.
Very jealous that you all get to PbP with GM SV. He really is that good.
Nothing personality related of course, just RL getting in the way.
On a positive note, perhaps that means Grimdog can have the spot back that he generously gave up for Radiarch?

Okay, revised table split is as follows:
Low tier
Gummy bear's wizard 7
Banesama's fighter 6
Top's sorcerer 5
Shadow Dragon's paladin/hellknight 6
Grimdog's cleric 5
Ryan's paladin 5
Players for Low Tier please hop on over to the new Gameplay thread and dot in. I've made a new discussion thread over there too.
High tier
Gerald's psychic 8
Zin's oracle 8 plus bear
Phaeton's arcanist 9 plus riddywhipple
Mike R's mouser 7
Otha's archer 7
Noral's bard/oracle 6
This table has an APL of 7.5, which will round up and put you in subtier 8-9. If Noral and Gummy Bear want to switch that's fine, if you want to bring other characters that's fine too. We have plenty of time before we start.
High tier will use the gameplay thread here (I've renamed the campaign accordingly).

Looks good. Thanks for getting it all sorted out!
This table has an APL of 7.5, which will round up and put you in subtier 8-9.
Presumably that would be either straight subtier 8-9 or 8-9 with 4 player adjustment as the APL is exactly on the .5 so the party could choose which way to round the .5?
