Seeing the stake in the ground, Tesla tries to use Mage Hand to slowly lift it out of the ground.
Technically, a stake might be considered Light Bulk, so it's worth a try! Besides, how often does one get to use Mage Hand?

When his plan fails, Tesla moves back to the others. "My colleagues, we have a baby dinosaur tethered to a stake." He looks around to those stronger than him. Which is everyone. He continues, "Maybe someone can remove the stake from the ground? Or untie him?" He stands ready to fight off any captors.

Jinakka looks forlornly at the captive. This is unacceptable.

She strides next to Sir Tesla and whispers, "If Irori wills it, I will pull that stake out."

Unfortunately, the poppet loses his grip and very nearly tumbles to the ground.

Tinsley follows Professor Bun Bun by sneaking (Stealth +6) behind him until she reaches the young dino at stake. She has no intention to remove the stake on the ground but she would comfort the young Babs so that it would calm down.

The learned lagomorph, and Jinakka run up to Babs. Professor Bun Bun tries to help pull the stake out but can't quite get a grip on it. Tinsley sneaks up to try to comfort Babs. Unfortunately, in doing so, they all come within view of a large bipedal creature and two smaller reptiles, who are not happy to see them.

The large biped roars "Oho! What have we here?! More meat for us to eat! ATTACK!"

Viewing the crowded battlefield, the odd wizard waits for, what he hopes is, more inspiration from the Professor.

During this time, Tesla considers how he can best help his brave allies, who are rushing in and risking poisonous attacks to save the baby dinosaur. His eyes widen as Jinakka rises from the dead to stay in the fight. "Looks like you have this near one under control. Allow me to assist with the uninjured one." Focusing on the further enemy, Tesla fires 3 magical bolts of force.

Zinnifen's crossbow bolt buries itself in White's chest. The creature stumbles back, staring at the wooden stake buried in its chest and falls over.

You finally release Babs from the stake but she is terrified, though unhurt.

Tinsley approaches Babs and attempts to pat her head to calm her down. Soon enough Babs gets close to her in which she considers attaching a leash around her. The tamed young dino keeps following her.

Jinakka bows in thanks first to Professor Bun Bun, then to Tinsley Tyler, Vattqem, Zinnifen and finally, Sir Tesla.

This was a very interesting experience, she thinks as she turns and begins walking slowly back to town.

You arrive back at camp and Xila is overjoyed to see Babs and hugs the little dinosaur.

"Oh thank you for recovering little Babs! You have definitely earned your reward!" She reaches into her purse and hands each of you 4gp. Beckoning you to follow her, "I'm heading off to reunite the stegosaurus younglings with their family now. Come along!"

You follow Xila to the valley and witness a heartwarming reunion as the stegasaurus younglings are reunited with their parents. As you depart, Xila bids you farewell and wishes you luck on your future adventures.
