Precious is often mistaken for a child's toy; the tiny knght of Sarenrae wears a helmet made from a thimble and he us carried around on the shoulder of his squire, a one-eyed peasant named Pouk.
Precious's dented plate armor is painted with a crooked yellow sun that has a smiley face. He wobbles around when he carries his lance, which is one size too big for him.
A little voice echoes inside the helmet. "I'm Sir Precious Thimble, a real actual knight!"
Pouk nods. "Yessir, that's right an' true. An' I'm Sir Precious's squire, Pouk. A real life squire, ain't I? Found each other in Lastwall, we did." He vigorously scratches his behind.
"I was a casualty!" says Precious. "And now I'm a knight!" He pats a tattered book of Shivalry at his side. "If you believe you're a knight hard enough, then you're a knight. That's the rules."

Our adventure begins in the Grand Lodge of Absalom, where Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin has summoned you. Soon you will find Rain in Cloudy Day standing on a chair behind a large oak desk covered with documents and desperately asking for your help. In the meantime though feel free to introduce yourselves.

![]() |

An orange catfolk woman wears a green shirt loosely over her hide armor. A shiny bugle hangs around her neck. She brushes crumbs out of her fur.
"Hi there, Sir Precious Thimble! It's so nice to meet a knight! I'm Neely Mc Highbranch, and I'm a lumberjack by trade."

![]() |

"As am I!" a gray catfolk wearing an orange and black plaid shirt over studded leather armor, a harmonica poking out of the shirt pocket. Hatchets dangle from loops at either hip, the one on the right inscribed with several runes. "Benji Leafstomper's the name. Good to meet you!"

Hopefully Glen will catch up soon. Also, 2 hero points to everybody(after glyphs)
Finding the aforementioned Rain behind a desk, they speak rapidly, without giving you time to interrupt.
“Ah, you’ve arrived! What a relief! I’m a bit overwhelmed at the moment, and I could use your help. The Pathfinder Society leadership is in a closed-door meeting right now, reviewing the latest news from Iobaria, the distant land where the Society has focused its efforts of late. I can’t wait to hear more about all the interesting things our agents discovered there! But, while they’re busy, I’ve been asked to catalog the flood of correspondence from our Inner Sea lodges. Just look at all these letters! Ambrus—that is, Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin—asked me to sort and summarize all of it, but there’s so much! And, I’m not ashamed to admit that with my relative inexperience, all of it seems urgent! I’ve got to put a report together, but I’m overwhelmed by all the unfamiliar names and places! Here, take these letters. See what you can make of them. I’d hate to miss something important and disappoint the venture-captain, and I think the meeting is almost over.”
The 6 letters Rain provides you are available on the slides. Each of you will need to choose 1-2 exclusive letters to analyze and let me know your bonuses to secret recall knowledge checks for the letter(s) you have chosen. (As well as any hero point spending preferences regarding said secret checks)

Ummm… Precious hops off Pouk's shoulder and onto the table. Are any of these stories about Shivalry? He stomps around in his armor, tearing paper and searching for interesting words such as "KILL," "IMPALE," "REVENGE," and "BLOOD" and other knightly turns of phrase.
Untrained in all these skills. Pouk is +6 crafting (Taldor) but another PC may be better at that. I'll take whatever is last and roll at +0 and spend a hero point if I crit fail.

![]() |

A man who you would guess is in his 80s rides up atop a magnificent white horse and swings himself out of the saddle before strolling into the meeting. Despite his obvious age, his face is heavily caked with powder and makeup to make what can only be described as a misguided attempt to conceal that fact.
"Hold, Bucephalus!", he says to his horse, who takes his reigns in his mouth and backs away to the side of the building.
"My sincere apologies for being late. The rabble choking the streets is even worse than usual today! All the same I am here and pleased to introduce myself as the Grand Marshall Hieronymous St-Jean Magdalen Featherstonehaugh. You may simply call me the Grand Marshall for short. You already met Bucephalus, who is a most extraordinary steed and a star in his own right."

![]() |

The Grand Marshall will do his best to analyze the letter regarding his home town of Oppara in Taldor (Society +5) and Qadira (Society +5).
I have an extra hero point for the campaign coin. I will spend one if I crit fail.

"My sincere apologies for being late. The rabble choking the streets is even worse than usual today!"
Pouk bows to the Grand Marshal. "That must’ve been us, Sir. We’re much worse than your typical rabble, Sir. Right sorry to have choked the streets an’ delayed ya, sir."
Precious gazes up at Grand Marshall Hieronymous St-Jean Magdalen Featherstonehaugh, immediately forgetting the swashbuckler's name. "WOW! Are you a real knight too, Grand-pa Marshal?" He drops the letter he was pretending to read. "Someday I'll get a mean old mule and ride it into battle, just like a real knight."
Pouk looks hurt. "I do my best in the meantime to carry ya, Sir Precious. We make do just fine. I ain't no ass, but I aspire, Sir."

![]() |

"No need to apologize, but I am no knight. I am the Grand Marshall of the annual parade at the cavalry academy in Oppara. Or at least I was, until those fools put me out to pasture like I was some sort of old man. Why, I am barely a day over 49! I slipped their grasp at my first opportunity, I can assure you!"
He winks at Precious and smiles. Despite his acerbic and sometimes biting words, it is hard not to find Hieronymous charming and charismatic, even if you don't wish to, like he is a lovable but inappropriate grandfather set loose on the world.

"See, this is why I stick to the forest. Ain't no traffic out there, and even if there was you could just chop down a few trees and make a new path!"

Things learned:
Cheliax: Varian Jeggare is a half-elven wizard. He is almost always accompanied by his bodyguard Radovan and his faithful dog Arnisant. He runs a secret lodge from his manor in Cheliax, a nation known for its ties to devils and authoritarian rule where most Pathfinder activity is forbidden. The Grand Lodge’s own archivist, Zarta Dralneen, was once a paracountess of Cheliax before becoming the leader of the Dark Archive, a former Pathfinder faction devoted to finding dangerous relics and occult knowledge.
About 10 years ago, Varian Jeggare found and returned the infamous Lacuna Codex—a book of powerful, evil spells—to the Decemvirate in Absalom.
Qadira: Qadira is the westernmost satrapy of the great Padishah Empire of Kelesh. Qadira once commanded its own faction within the Society, which it used to promote its trade interests across the Inner Sea. That faction eventually became the Exchange, a group more broadly dedicated to influence via commerce.
Taldor: The nation of Taldor, once a sprawling empire, has long sought to restore its former glory. Lady Gloriana Morilla is a former venture-captain who supported the rise of Taldor’s new monarch, Grand Princess Eutropia. Muesello is the current venture-captain, and he spends much of his time tinkering with custom wayfinders for Pathfinder agents.
Rain in Cloudy Day is grateful for all your help, and jots down notes in hod book. He seems especially interested in any notes regarding the old factions from before his time as a Pathfinder.
Rain exclaims "How interesting... I wonder if any of these are related. I bet Venture Captain Valsin will appreciate it even more if I write another report with some extra analysis! Now lets..."
Just then A tall man with tan skin and dark, meticulously groomed hair throws open the doors and strides into the office: Venture- Captain Ambrus Valsin clearly has something urgent on his mind. Rain in Cloudy Day jumps up to interrupt him, proclaiming that the report summarizing the correspondence is ready. The venture-captain, taken aback, accepts the journal that Rain shoves into his hands. Rain watches expectantly as Valsin skims the report.
Ambrus Valsin nods to those gathered and says in a gruff voice, “Ah, yes. Thank you Rain, agents. Let me see… this is all quite worrying! Your thoroughness is praiseworthy. Unfortunately, we cannot act on any of this right now. Another urgent matter has come up, right on our doorstep. I need agents to go to the Blakros Museum and meet with Curator Adjutant Seshuun, who is temporarily in charge. I do not have any details, but she’s requested the Society’s immediate presence, and she seems upset. We’ve worked hard to establish a working relationship with the museum, and I do not want it to fall to pieces now with everything else going on. Please help the curator with anything she may need, and if you can, try to make a good first impression."
“Rain and I will remain here and bring this report to the Society’s leadership. Some of this is quite serious, and we’ll take it all the way to the Decemvirate if needed!”

"Understood. We will be the essence of diplomacy and tact, though I may wish to inquire after the donation I made to the museum many years ago, and whether it is yet on display? A rare Linnorm tusk from the farthest reaches of the North, in fact. Believe me it is not an easy task to pry one loose, much less when the beast was engaged in the act of congress with another Linnorm at the time."
The Grand Marshall stares wistfully off into the middle distance.

Arriving at the Blakros Museum you find gardeners and landscapers busily hauling plants and building materials through the gardens that flank the path leading to the imposing, multistory building that is the Blakros Museum.
Its outer walls are crafted almost entirely from a single chunk of volcanic rock. A woman stands near the entrance, speaking with several of the workers in a calm yet commanding voice. She has deep blueish-purple skin and vibrant teal markings, denoting her ancestry as one of the aquatic azarketi.
Most of the plants are fake, but there are a few real sprinkled here and there. It does a good job of appearing like a grove straight out of Iobaria. Mention this to Seshuun for a +1 circumstance bonus to impress her once it's skill challenge time.
Seshuun introduces herself. "I am Seshuun, the interim curator. Nigel is on... leave. Please tell me what business you have here"

We left Pouk out there with the horse, Grandpa Marshal. Maybe he knows how to take care of it.
Precious looks at Seshuun. He looks at all the plants. You need help right? What's the job? Chop down some of these plants so they fit inside easier? Neeli and Benji are lumberjacks!

Pirate GM |

She looks down her nose somewhat at you.
“So, you’re the ones Valsin sent to fix this mess. No, not the gardens. Nothing needs chopping. The shipment! You know, the relics? The Iobarian relics? Surely you can explain why the shipment hasn’t been delivered yet. The Sixwing Drake should have arrived with the relics by now, but I’ve heard no word. We can make the gardens look as authentic as we want, but nobody is going to visit an empty exhibit. The recent business with the curator, Nigel Aldain, has tarnished the museum’s reputation enough as it is. I can’t allow the Society’s delays to cause further problems. You look like you might have questions. Please tell me you can help?”
Clearly not only does she have a problem that she thinks is the Society's fault but she's also in a foul mood about it. Ambrus Valsin would surely appreciate any smoothing over of tensions you could manage here.

Hero Point for Precious. Also 2 successes is enough.
She nods and you can see the tension ease from her shoulders "My apologues for being so brusque, this job is rather stressful and it's easy to get frustrated. I'm truly grateful for your help."
She reaches into her satchel and pulls out a torch that burns with no heat and an onyx pug figurine "Perhaps later you can let me on on Nigel's secrets for keeping his cool, but for now take Dusty and the light."
She pauses for the briefest of giggles "Maybe they'll help you find the missing cargo down at the docks. Just treat dusty well"

Pirate GM |

Your journey from the Blakros Museum to the docks doesn’t take long.
The waterfront teems with activity and the sights and sounds of one of the Inner Sea’s largest ports.
It's easy enough to find Hansara Molnesh, the tall, broad-shouldered Garundi harbormaster.
"Alright, finish loading those barrels." she instructs some dock workers, pointing towards a sleek, blue-sailed ship emblazoned with the name Sixwing Drake in faded paint.
She then looks to you "What's your business?"

"Hello, ma'am, sorry to bother you. We're Pathfinders, trying to find out the status of the Sixwing Drake here. Could you tell us if it's been unloaded yet, and if so where the cargo is?"

The harbormaster frowns in confusion. “Someone already came by to get the shipment. At least… I think they did? They were… hmm. To be honest, I can’t remember. Come to think of it, everything that happened this morning is all… cloudy. Wait, why are the workers loading cargo on the ship?!”
She turns to the crew gathered on the docks and the Sixwing Drake and shouts, “Hey, listen up! The Pathfinders are here for the shipment! Let’s get to work!”
Moments later, a dockhand on the upper deck steps rigidly toward a stack of barrels and says something inaudible over the din of the harbor.
A series of massive explosions obliterates the Sixwing Drake, spewing flames and charred debris onto the docks!
The dozen surviving dockworkers stumble about in awe for a moment before Hansara Molnesh commands them to start putting out the mundane fires that threaten to spread to other docks. She shouts to you, “We’ll take care of the fire—you handle those living flames!”
A pair of unusually large (Small) rats made out of fire hop of the burning remains of the Six Wing Drake and eye you in a menacing fashion.
