Ok, I dislike rules debates, but there we go :).
1: what performance?
Ekaterina is a Skald, and has the rage power savage intuition. This makes her automatically start her performance, which counts as rage as per Skald rules, as soon as combat starts, even before she acts the first time.
Savage intuition
2: CMD
Combat Maneuver Defense
THe rulebook posts:
CMD definition
A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature’s AC also apply to its CMD. A flat-footed creature does not add its Dexterity bonus to its CMD.
unless something specifically says you dont add deflection etc. to CMD, you add it.
3: Flat footed?
Uncanny Dodge (Ex)
At 4th level, a skald gains the ability to react to danger before his senses would normally allow him to do so. He cannot be caught flat-footed, nor does he lose his Dex bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. He still loses his Dexterity bonus to AC if he is immobilized. A skald with this ability can still lose his Dexterity bonus to AC if an opponent successfully uses the feint action against him.
If a skald already has uncanny dodge from a different class, he automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.
I also have a fly speed and am thus able to move mid air.

Scenario 1:
An enemy is on a ledge 15-feet above you and they jump down into a square next to you. Do they provoke an AoO as they fall through your squares?
Scenario 2:
An enemy is flying above you and their flying spell is dismissed. They fall (at 60-feet safely), through your threatened squares, do they provoke an AoO?
The key to determining when AoOs work is to remember that they're NEVER provoked when someone enters a threatened square. They're ONLY provoked when someone LEAVES a threatened square.
So when you attack from above via a jump or a fall, you DO technically provoke an AoO unless you can somehow arrest your fall as soon as you come in reach of the target. For Medium targets, this basically means being 5 feet off the ground. Since the majority of jumping and falling creatures won't be able to arrest their descent, they'll continue down to the ground, and in so doing leave the "square" that the enemy threatens five feet above. Giving the enemy a chance to attempt an AoO before you land, basically.
Of course, Mobility and Acrobatics checks to avoid the AoO should still be an option for the jumping or falling character provided they're not helpless; you can still twist and writhe in the air to make yourself a harder target.
You could even use acrobatics to avoid the AoO while falling, provided you are not helpless. Note, I did not do this, but it rather strongly implies that falling, by itself, does not impose any additional penalties other then what is written under falling in enviromental rules.

I dislike them too Ekaterina. A nasty taste in my mouth and apprehensive feelings. But as long as we are just being objective and giving grace. ;)
I have never had a skald or played one before.
Oh okay! I didn't know! Cool!!!
Miscellaneous Modifiers
A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature’s AC also apply to its CMD. A flat-footed creature does not add its Dexterity bonus to its CMD.
Oh wow I never knew that good to know.
You fell down the hole and did not state anything about your wings. How am I suppose to remember everything about your character especially when you don't explicitly say actions.
Sure here we go!
Lady Ekaterina |
I am expanding and auditing my character sheet atm to make this easier in the future.
I probably have too much conditional stuff to put it in the vital stats line, but will add a "modifieres that are probably going to be always on" spoiler at the top of the character sheet.
Its even dumber, I myself forgot what my character also does (I think I made her half a year ago and this is the first combat). I do have dodge from my 2 monk levels (picked as a bonus feat), which due to Elephant in the room means I also have mobility, resulting in +4 AC vs AoOs (assuming it was an AoO and not a readied action), and I didnt even add the +1 dodge from dodge, yikes.
Ekaterina also has improved grapple herself (intended has her less then lethal takedown option).
Lady Ekaterina |
Unfortunately I used my spell kenning on see invisibility, so I cant cast daylight via spell kenning.
Apparently, the totems from my spirit may not care about darkness at all though.
Barbarian, Lesser Spirit Totem: Who decides who the spirits attack, and what effects affect the spirits?
The barbarian decides who the spirits attack each round. The spirits are not affected by effects that aid their attacks or damage (such as bardic performance or bless) or penalize their attacks or damage (such as bane or darkness). The spirits always strike from your direction. They do not get flanking bonuses or help a combatant get one.
Ginza |
Please let me know if this works on you... I don't think it does but double check for me.
Weakness (Su)
A green hag’s claws sap strength from those she strikes. Each time a green hag hits a foe with her claw attack, the victim takes 2 points of Strength damage unless he resists the weakness with a DC 16 Fortitude save. Alternatively, a green hag can attempt to inflict even greater weakness on a foe by making a touch attack—this variant requires a standard action, and cannot be attempted in the same round the hag makes claw attacks. The opponent touched must succeed on a DC 16 Fortitude save or take 2d4 points of Strength damage. The save DC is Charisma-based.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless).
so nope.
Lady Ekaterina |
I made a mistake, it is 21 damage less, I accidentally added a damage roll to the crit confirm.
Actual damage, assuming last attack misses is 127.
Her expected damage output, assuming 4,5 attacks hit and she has an available swift action to use grit, is:
4,5 * (4,5+18=22.5)=101
If she crits with x4 it goes by 67 to 168.
If she crits with x2 it goes up by 22,5 to 123ish.
Compared to Amadea it is considerably less (she did 300+ in a full round), compared to Dom and Ginza it is a lot more hmmm.
GM tools to deal with Ekaterina:
--Deny her swift actions, -45ish damage per full round
--mirror image, concealment, blur all work reasonably well
--Fog is your friend, as it care little about see invis
--Her save vs fear effects is just a +6, she has a good will save vs charm or compulsion, vs everything else it is fairly bad.
--her total load is just 20ish lbs, she loses her monk cha to ac when she is at medium load, which means reducing her str to 3 or less. This is achievable with an exhaustion effect and a ray of weakness.
--I did anticipate grappling her, and she has reasonable defenses against this. Disarm or trip combat maneuvers should be highly effective.
--She does get flat footed if succesfully feinted against, however, he sense motive is too high to make this practicial. Everyone who can feint vs her would have little need to fight her in the first place.
--Consider having mythic enemies? Gestalt with template is probably stronker then mythic, liberally sprankling mirror dodge is definitly an option.
--Cut from the air with combat reflexes. Dex 20 is sufficient to probably nullify her attacks fully. Assuming its a boss, it will have higher BAB then her and not have the -6 she has for twf, deadly aim, rapid shot, meaning that it will probably parry everything.
Ginza |
lol Ginza is likely among the lowest damage output among the party.
His shtick is mitigation.
GM Wolf |
How would I deny your swift actions?!
Thank you for helping me with your demise. J/K
Yeah Amadea is a beast too.
Though you won't find anyone properly prepared for one of you let alone your group unless you go looking for them and make a huge overt action.
Lol, Ginza is a good damage sponge!
Lady Ekaterina |
Swift action denial
If this was mythic, it would be a far larger deal, however, she does have several things that are immidiate actions:
--Liberating command is an immidiate action, if you get her to cast it by grappling someone else, she cannot use a swift action on her turn, or cast it to defend herself from a grapple if she has used her swift action offensively prior
--Timely inspiration, as well as Gallant inspiration (which I will pick up), are also immidiate actions, if an ally or herself fails a skill check, and she casts it to fix this she cannot use a swift on the same turn
--Lastly I woul argue that her gift of recovery
Gift of Recovery: Once per day as an immediate action when the target fails a Will saving throw from a source other than the succubus who granted the profane gift, the character can allow the succubus to attempt a second Will saving throw (using her own Will save) to resist the effect. If the succubus fails the save the effect affects the character normally, but if she makes the save, the character is treated as if he made his initial Will save. The next time the succubus uses suggestion on the PC, he automatically fails the saving throw.
Consumes the immidiate action of boh of them.
TLDR:
So, you can stop her from using her swift action by making her cast any inspiration spell or liberating command, or make her utilize her profane gift to reroll a will save on someone.
Just call me Bob |
Nope, Bob does less, but his damage heals the party.
Given time, Bob can chare the fast healing among party members to heal with no resources expended. He brings FH 2 to the table, one from him and one from Sprout. Then he's also got other abilities when we need it faster. Like channeling to everybody and rearranging it to those that need it.
Kazko |
That sucks. I hope you feel better soon.
Lady Ekaterina |
Hope you get better!
Ginza |
Wishing you a swift recovery!
Lady Ekaterina |
So, assuming she counts as willing for the profane gift, and puts her bonus on int, and has been feebleminded she would be able to communicate akin to a above average intelligent dog (Int 3), we could momentarily boost her int to 7 via fox cunning, enabling her to acually talk and communicate short term.
A heal scroll is probably our best bet, after getting the things off her.
would Ekaterina notice that, while presumably highly attractive in terms of body, her force of personality seems to be near gone?
Lady Ekaterina |
Indeed! Enjoy this real life profane gift to your Con! Sending remote hugs!
Ginza |
Rest well.
Covid fatigue is real.
Kazko |
Get some rest. I hope your feeling better soon!
Domayoku |
Hi, all. I got a text from GM Wolf that he'll be back on the forums tonight. He's dealing with Covid crap and a bunch of other things.

Hey guys, I'm in Atlantic Canada, and we got hit pretty hard by hurricane Fiona. We've been without power since Friday. I'm at a warming shelter now charging some devices, but still have no power at home. No idea how often I'll be able to get internet, so it is probably best to bot me until further notice.
Lady Ekaterina |
Uff! Best of luck!
Just call me Bob |
I'm going to have intermittent posting issues for the the indeterminate future. I'd like to stay in the game and will do my best to keep up because I'm really going to need an outlet. But at time I may have issues posting. But I understand if you would prefer to have a clean break.
My dad got out of the hospital today after brain surgery a week ago. The hospital thinks that it's A-OK to send him home even though he can't even get out a chair without help, and his lucidity comes and goes. My mother has mobility issues as well, so I'm going to be taking care of both of them. We'll have a caregiver part of the time four days a week.
We got the pathology back, and it's glioblastoma. Aggressive brain cancer. The overall survival average is 12-18 months. My dad is 83, also has a heart condition and doesn't think it's worth extending his life if those months are sick on chemo.
So I may be a mess for a while, and I ask you to be tolerant and bot me when I can't make it to the boards.
GM Wolf |
That is alright Bob post when you can!
I am so sorry to hear about your dad, it sounds like quality of life is essential.
---
On that note, the game has slowed way down. Hopefully we can start getting our keep running, and keep interacting with the world. It being slow has actually given me plenty of time. ;)
Ginza |
Sorry to hear about your dad.
I hope everything goes well for you.
It's ok to miss the game abit, cherish your folks. I know the feeling when I was nursing my late mum back then from esophagus cancer.
Lady Ekaterina |
Ekaterina (currently at heavy load) is flying towards the base with her new drow friend.
Ginza |
Ginza is galloping along below Ekaterina since his steed can't fly yet.
Domayoku |
And Domayoku is flying Lady Alexandria von Rogarvia back to The Guildhall.
Amadea |
Hurricane Fiona. Spent a week and a half without power. Some places on the island still don't have electricity. My yard is a mess of fallen trees and I don't have a chainsaw. Fortunately the house is ok.
Domayoku |
Great news you're alive!
Amadea |
Great news you're alive!
I think there was only one death in Canada from Fiona. Elevated surf hit their house and washed the whole structure out to sea. Happened to a dozen houses or so, but most had heeded the evacuation and were therefore empty.
Kazko |
I am sorry to hear things were rough for you. I hope this week has gone smoother.
Lady Ekaterina |
I am, I did the last or second to last player post though.
Ginza |
A bit hard to follow what our current story arc is as it seems half our party has already gone conquering half of the world already without the rest noticing.
So. we're now doing a player driven campaign to wipe out another country who are magic users specialized on illusions?
