Throughout the gloomy and frigid day the party continues on, occasionally Hal hears the howling of wolves. Halfway through the day the more or less barren tundra you have been traveling through gives way to a thin forest of trees covered in snow and ice.

Agreed Chack. This is a tough slog, but it would be near impossible without the gift of the cloaks. The good news is that you and I both have a fair amount of 'fur'. Not sure how Garric and Hal are doing it. Plus Hal is about as meaty as a dry stick.

The party makes slow progress through the snow as the howls of the wolves become more frequent and appear to be closing in on the group as darkness falls.

If they want a fight I say let's give it to them good and hard. A little break from all this marching about.

Try and find a defensible spot that limits the vectors of incoming attack (secure the rear) and wait for any foes to arrive. Will do some casting etc. in prep if time permits (minute before expected battle).


The best you can do is put your backs to a tree about 5’ wide, but wolves could still come at you from pretty much any direction. There is no way to know if or when they will attack, they are out there in the dark and snow nearby. Visibility is barely 60’ even with darkvision or light due to the snowfall.

Dwol sets about building as large a fire as he can sustain during the night placing it about 10' from the large tree to make it so foes have to come from just two directions unless they can get through a tree fo the fire.

I copied the wrong one, yes it should be +11. Crit is x3 but I already rolled x1 for the 19 so the confirm should just be x2.
