But of course, he is a Scot after all. How could I forget about that comparison?!

Speaking of birthdays, I got some good news about my grandmothers.

My maternal grandmother is out of the hospital and undergoing rehabilitation. Unless something drastic happens, she'll be 96 tomorrow.

My paternal grandmother is more lucid and able to speak clearly again. She's still got some short-term memory problems and is bed-bound, but this is still an improvement from the last time I saw her, even if she's not likely to get any better.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate every single one of them.

Seasons greetings one and all - have added in much more detail to the People & Places section of Campaign Info as you're starting to collect alot of names and place mentions.

Have also linked the Players Map in the campaign header.

Remember both the map and the Count's Letter have some easter eggs in there so keep referring back to these as the campaign evolves :)

Hey, I wanted to give y'all a heads up. My maternal grandmother is not doing well. She's hardly eating or drinking. I don't know how long she may have left. I just wanted to let y'all know what was going on.

Also, Tuesday is when I start having to go up to Tuscaloosa, AL twice a week. If I don't have a new job by February, I'll need to do that commute daily, and that will mean I likely won't have time to post much.

I'll keep y'all up to date on what's going on. Looks like 2025 is going to be a rough start for me.

I don't think she will. She suffered a heart attack, and all the docs can do is make her comfortable. We're just playing the waiting game now.

Well, when your granny's 96, there's not a lot that can be done. We're praying that her passing is painless and that she doesn't suffer. That's about all we can do.

She's tired. She misses Papa James. She's ready to go home.

Hey all, an update on the situation with my nana.

They've stopped giving her medical care. At this point, all they can do is try their best to make her comfortable. I also found out that a great-uncle on my dad's side of the family passed away. If y'all could, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

It's sad, but also in a way, it's a relief. She was always worried about being a burden, and she hasn't been able to live independently for a few years now. She's tired, she misses her husband, Papa James, and she's ready to go home.

We're sad because we're going to miss having her around, but we're relieved that she isn't going to be suffering any more.

I just got the news a few minutes ago that she passed away. It hurts, but it's a bittersweet pain. We miss her, but she no longer suffers.

Take your time Adam - as I said in other thread, thoughts and condolences to you and yours mate.

Sorry to hear of your woes and loss. Departures are seldom easy, but as you mentioned, there is some solace in the end of suffering. It sounds like she led a good, long life. Mourn well; sending off the departed with the knowledge that there are those left behind that care for them and will carry their memory on is the finest gift we can give in their passage.
