Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

"The usual: try talking, then try scaring, then we just knock them out and take over the whole slot if nothing else works!" Sem suggests, not about to lose this gig.

Zirul Huntinghawk |

Look, I know we weren't here for the sound check, but we had a ruff day today, and we play for all of our fans and for your business as well. Our ship had engine trouble and we were attacked, don't know why, but we were. I guess we must have some fans that don't like us, maybe we worship a deity they don't agree with, or they don't like our races or something, I don't know. But that won't stop us. We are here to pursue our dreams and give you the music of a lifetime. We've always played excellent and the fans always cheered us on. And we always made a profit or brought good business in. If you allow us on stage, think of all the inspired fans, the kids and your business. diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 of course, rolls a 1, and I don't have anything that allows me to reroll that.

Dwinite - BotR |

Dwinite is not good at the diplomacy thing, but he is good at the computer thing. So he attempts to hack the system to make it look that the stage manager had changed her mind and gave them their slot back.
computers: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Nuya Pei |

Profession(musician): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
"Their instruments use special hydro-fields ... I can probably disrupt them, to make the vibrations go out of sync and create a whining sound .... but I would need Zhane's help to create a distraction ... "
Engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16
She snaps her fingers. "Wait, Dwindle, you have that spell that can heat things up, right? The hydro-field magnetic inducer is very vulnerable to temperature fluctuations. If you could use that on their instrument, maybe that would have the same effect, and I wouldn't have to go over there."
With that roll, I am assuming my clever plan is not so clever...

![]() |

Your rolls all.... are very poor.
"Too late, Looser!" snarls Remia who tosses her drink in Zhane's face.
Looks like its time for a band-rumble!
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Status: Initiative, if you beat 4 a you may post a round of actions
Nuya Pei 10 damage
Sem Syletar Salumin - tethered to Kardyn
Zhane Amellu; 16 damage;
Dwinite 20damage
Snowfall Renaissance
You did have an opportunity to rest, on the ship in, so if you wanted to rest, let me know your current rp/hp/hp;

Nuya Pei |

Yes, if we had time I would have recovered SP. Will update stat line when I get back to my computer.
Sem should try an intimidate roll first ... maybe his roll will be better. I am not going to physically fight over this, unless they attack first. For one thing, I have nothing particularly nonlethal that I can use.
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Looking like stuff could go haywire, Nuya's exocortex does begin tracking Remia as the most dominant threat ... although people throwing drinks in Zhane's face is not an unusual occurrence.
She leans toward Zhane and says, "We can still talk our way out of this. Ask them how much it'll take. Anything but our instruments."
I will hold my action .. if someone goes for Bluff or Diplomacy I will try to aid.

![]() |

It's pretty clear that Snowfall reniassance are about to throw punches, your chance for talking your way out of this has passed. Your poor rolls kind of hampered you here.

Dwinite - BotR |

Dwinite would have also rested if possible to get all his stamina back
He sighs. I really hoped we could resolve this like gentlebeings but ...
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
He will also hold, not wanting to be an aggressor.

Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
"Now you're speaking my language!"
Sem approaches red while drawing her weapon and smacks him with the side of her blade:
Carbon steel curve blade vs. red's KAC: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 4 = 18
Slashing nonlethal: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
"Give up whenever you're ready - we just want our spot back!"

Nuya Pei |

Seeing that no one needs her backup on talking to them, she activates her energy shield.

![]() |

Nuya prepares herself for either fruit from the crowd or the Snowfall. Sem, dancing to number that only he can hear dashes forward to hit the closest member of Snowfall with his rhythm sticks.
The renaissance member falls back, not wanting to get seriously hurt before their actual set. The other members draw tasers and try to drop your drummer!
attacks@+8: 3d20 ⇒ (4, 4, 15) = 23
E non lethal: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Status:
Nuya Pei thp 10; rp 5/6;
Sem Syletar Salumin -33/36sp;
Zhane Amellu; 5/6rp;
Dwinite 5/6rp
Snowfall Renaissance
red - 16 damage
gren - get'em!

Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

"Looks like all of you need some motivation!"
Sem moves around and smacks the green keyboard player next!
Carbon steel curve blade vs. red's KAC: 1d20 + 9 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 9 - 4 + 1 = 24
Slashing nonlethal: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
"Now, this is showbusiness!"
Sem is a lady, actually

Nuya Pei |

Nuya pulls her tactical baton, in case needed for her defense ... but at this point, she thinks Sem is taking care of things well enough on her own.
"You attacked first," Nuya says to Remia, pointing at the glass she threw at Zhane. "Let us perform instead, before Sem makes her way through your whole band."
Intimidate(untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 19
Now I get a decent roll ... ;)

![]() |

"Right... right... Go on.." cries the band, backing away from the members of Neon & Noqual, wanting to be in good enough condition for their own set.
oop[se, and it looks like I put you on the wrong side of the curtain. That was all back stage.
With Snowfall Renaissance suffering a Noqual Setback you gather your gear and get set up yourself. Your set is only a short one - you'll have three songs.
Lets start with your first one (give me a title for it) - and each of you give me a profession(musician) check. Your first song should be something that rev's up the crowd in a good opening.

Nuya Pei |

Nuya begins playing the opening cords to their standard opener, "I Left My Heart on Eox."
Profession(musician): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

Sem slams her sword down in the middle of the stage and starts destroying the drums:
Profession (Musician): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

![]() |

This time it is everyone doing their own rolls, all totals count!
Nuya's openeing cords get the crowd moving, and then Zhane's sweet vocals leave them weeping for the devastation on Eox. The drums set the stage for when the asteroid hit the planet, killing everything living there. The only bit of the act that really falls a little flat is the keyboard.
You are into the middle of your set now, and it is time for some showmanship.
Pick another skill (i.e. not profession-musician) and then let me know how you are using it in the show! Don't forget to give me a roll to go with it. And let me know what the song is called.

![]() |

32 days a month certainly appeals to the working-class fans of stardock
rock music. Dey know what it like, workin for da man.

![]() |

Dwinite activates computer controlled musical algorithms as backing tracks.
computers: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

Sem climbs up the roof structure and smashes her anti-grav drum pads while hanging upside down:
Athletics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Nuya Pei |

Nuya walks over and tweaks the output on the sound amplifier, to favorably augment the reverb in the song.
Engineering: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

![]() |

While fixing his keyboard, Dwinite notices the holoprojector hidden in the back. He hooks that up and the crowd are wowed by the imagery that comes out of it.
Perhaps less so by Sem, whose actions are not quite up with the lyrics, no matter how athletic they may be. Nuya however ensures the sounds echo throughout the hall, the hefty riffs summoning thoughts of long days working for minimum wage in terrible conditions.
The crowd is with you now! You have to give them a finale to remember! And give me a song name
A final profession(musician) check is required from each of you to leave the crowd wowed and wanting more!

Sem Syletar Salumin_TR |

Sem jumps back down and keeps slamming the drums:
Profession (Musician): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Her strongest performance on this stage yet!

Nuya Pei |

Profession(musician): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
After a couple of solid songs, Nuya appears to be losing a bit of steam and is falling behind the level of excitement being pumped out by the other performers.

![]() |

True, true.
While the audience is really into Neox & Noqual, the looong trip to the concert seems to have taken a toll on Nuya. Everyone is having a great time in the audience, but you get the sense that you are on the verge of Something Big(tm)
Can Zhane bring you home?

Zirul Huntinghawk |

Zhane will hold up signs that tell the audience to clap and whistle, and enjoy the song, (or at least pretend to in small print). During a time when there are no words in the song for a split second or there is a small pause he will shout loudly, Clap, whistle! diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 to convince the audience they will like the song, even if they don't.

![]() |

This last check has to be a profession(musician) check. But with a roll of 11 and your skill, that passes fine.
The crowd is on their feet, screaming for more as the band ducks behind the curtain and into the thankfully slightly cooler area away from the spotlights.
There, sitting at a folding table sits a man in a rather swish suit. "Zhane and Neon & Noqual?" he asks.
"I represent Azure Note, and we would like to offer you a contract..."
The rest of the day passes in a bit of a haze (perhaps more so for Zhane whose pill box was refilled by the agent but was still empty by the end of the day). Recognised as a standout act rom the concert, the deal you are offered includes a signing bonus of 5000 credits... as well as a tow to get Mama's Little Helper back to Absalom station.
Well done! Chronicles will be on the way shortly.

Dwinite - BotR |

That gets Dwinite hoppng and bopping all over the place, even pulling in Nuya into it.
The next thing Dwinite remembers clearly is being curled up in a nest made out of various electronic cables. Did he actually attempt to drink the spectrum?
