Hello! Welcome to the Corrupted side of the Worldwound campaign. Feel free to introduce yourselves, and take a look at your four soon to be party members and write up a few reactions that you may have to them based on faith, appearence, or the like.

I'm not 100% settled on what type of game it'll be just yet, but I have the beginning outlined pretty well. Include a bit about your character's personal goals, and how you see those goals being accomplished, and I'll work on the details over the next few days to bring some threads together.

Tons of tough competition actually. It was very hard to get this group together, but I think I have plenty of interesting interactions between the characters I chose.

About me: so, I’m pretty new to the forums. Technically, I had an account years and years ago (circa 20010/11) but I was mostly on here asking questions since my group had recently switched from 3.5 to PF. You may have seen me applying to games that have been popping up, I’ve gone with the “cast a wide net” strategy. I’ve spent most of my time as a dm/gm and since my irl group disbanded a while back, I’ve been itching to get some play in and get a chance to be a player.

Given that we’re a party of 4 CE characters and 1 NE, one might think that we would all be at odds, but I don’t see that any of our goals interfere with the others.

Avamedes wants wealth a lavish lifestyle. What better way to get that than with the aid of some like-minded allies? Plus, Pazuzu and Deskari are friendly enough and if it’s good enough for them, why can’t it be for their followers?

Jolene, Iomedae’s followers are among the most abhorrent beings. Helping to bring their downfall would bring a smile to Goresk’s face. Our goals align well.

Kevla, a proud Kellid woman! I’m stealing “Blood Mastadons”. What better inspiration is there than Lmashtu? A demon lord who slew a god and took his deific status. Surely, Kevla will inspire us with similar feats.

Lalali-Re ould like to see the return of the Azlanti. I’m sure we can easily find a suitable location for the resurgence somewhere in the Worldwound.

As for me, well, Goresk just wants to see the crusaders ended and become Deskari’s harbinger.

There’s one substantial stumbling point in the theory we’ll all get along well. That being Kevla’s faith in Lamashtu and Avamades’ in Pazuzu. The two gods, after all, are mortal enemies and this extends to their cults as well.

That said, stranger things have happened, and Lamashtu and Pazuzu were once lovers in the deep time of the cosmos, so there’s a hope for cooperation out there.

Nurgal, Groetus and Zura would be apropriate azlanti themed demons, because they were worshipped in old azlant, so i could switch to one of those.
On the other hand, Yamasoth is the qlippoth lord of cursed empires and some deranged fanatics might be crazy enough to invoke them to get rid of crusaders and demons alike...

Everybody who helps reinstate the empire and aknowldges azlanti - and therefore Iorianas supremacy - will have a welcome and special place in her heart and future empire. Some may only advance to the status of lower citizens or second grade citizens, some not even there, but thus is the natural order.
Exemptions may be made ;)

In terms of relations to other characters, I think Ioriana's devotion to Azlant would confuse Avamedes. The weak fall while the strong rise, and the Azlanti fell long, long ago. That said, her devotion to the demons is admirable.

He'd get along best with Goresk, I think. The alliance between their patrons would make fertile ground for something resembling friendship between the two of them.

Jolene would be another favorite of Avamedes, with her calling to tempt the good to evil resonating with his own methods.

Edit: On the mechanical side of things, given that Jolene is also a bard I may take an archetype for bard so we have less overlap.

So do all 3 of us have inspire courage? Might need to shift some archetypes around.

I thought about taking the demagogue archetype. It's a rare archetype that replaces inspire courage but not bardic knowledge.

Ioriana is the outcome of a generations long magic-aided rebreeding program with the goal of recreating the original Azlanti bloodline, which is considerably stronger than the average modern human.
Even Runelords were secretly involved and their gene pool tapped for this.

The Azlanti did not "fall", only their empire was shattered because the gods betrayed them and all their enemies conspired against them at once, all together.
Nonetheless Azlant will rise again like a Phoenix from the Ashes.

Avamedes will be taught differently ;)

Hi folks! I'm not surprised we ended up with 3 bards, they're great for adding skills and utility to the other half. Re Jolene I really like the brazen deceiver archetype, it feels very on concept, but I possibly could change it if the overlap is too great.

I've never played one but a court bard could be good fun. I was planning for Jolene to have debuffs as well as enchantments which satire would complement nicely.

@Avamedes I love the flavor of demagogue. It's abilities come on line kind of late but I have this image of angry crowds causing trouble for the good guys.

Oh, I didn't even notice I had chosen three bards. Oops. I'm sure it'll be fine, right? Feel free to switch around archtypes, as long as it makes sense for your build.

Going back to two of my questions:
1. does everyone here have discord? I find it makes the group much more accessible, and makes small discussions easier

2. how does everyone see this campaign going, theme wise? There were questions in the recruitment thread about what kind of things we would be doing (dungeon crawling, social intrigue, exploration, etc.). I know it'll probably include a bit of all of the themes, but what kinds of things would you guys specifically like to focus on? I'm working on the later game plot threads, and any suggestions would be much appreciated. I see this campaign as less of a campaign and more of a group storytelling effort. Feel free to pitch in!

1. I do have discord but don't really use it anymore after quitting wow a while back.

2. I assume you have an overarching story arc in mind. Along the way intrigue and fermenting (political) chaos could be fun. E.g. the forces of hell want to capture town X, we're sent in to soften the place up and ensure the gates are opened in time to welcome the demon horde. Of course paladins and those meddling kids are out to stop us.

Intrigue and chaos seems pretty perfect for the party we've got. There's very solid charisma across the board so it seems a good fit.

2. With so many bards, maybe a bit of espionage at some point. Infiltrating crusader ranks and whatnot. Possibly going after a wardstone or two?

Well if I set up a server for the game, would you guys be interested in using it? If not, that’s okay, just offering it as another tool.

I think I have a pretty good idea of a general arc, yeah, just setting some expectations is all. I’ll get a starter post up either tonight or tomorrow and we’ll see how it goes!

1 bard is good, 3 are interesting^^
Guess my character is fit for intrigue, but i sure wouldn't mind some dungeons and more solid action as well.
And of course, capturing some land myself, rebuilding an empire step by step!

Goresk is happy to rip through crusaders.

We should probably have a discussion about power level, especially if we're going to get mythic tiers at some point. What sort of power level is everyone comfortable with?

Jolene currently isn't super optimised for spell DCs, but adding the usual casting feats + court bard satire (if we went that way) would make it very likely spells would land and enchantment spells (on thing that are not outright immune) can be very powerful.
