Iskakii shifts in his approximation of a shrug.
"Proceeding with caution seems wise in any situation. Do you want me to take point?"

Point in this case keeps you in the massive crowd. This corridor eventually leads to the accommodation section of the station. So, for once, you actually started in the right direction. It's great when a mission gets off to such a good start.
And lets face it, any mission where you get to see Strawberry Machine Cake has got to be a good mission.
You continue along with your three little riders. Every now and then you glance back suspiciously. And from time to time you do see Tele bouncing up to see how far they still have to go.
The music in the corridor changes and one of the Big Hits of SMC comes on. The crowd lets out a roar and breaks into a spontaneous collective dance mob! And you are near the middle.
What are you going to do?
If you want to move forward at any speed you'll need acrobatics or STR checks. Of course you might want to break out some sweet moves

Kaylee (still keeping careful of the little girl on her shoulders) woo hoos and starts dancing, hoping she can dance her way out of the crowd to the other side!
Acrobatics?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Maybe not?

![]() |

Kaylee trips, sending her rider sprawling. She finds herself surrounded by frantically dancing SMC fans who all encouraging her to keep on "Dancing as you like it."

![]() |

Buddy yells "Great idea, let me try the worm as well."
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
The furball trips not wanting to step onto someone spinning on the ground and smacks with his shoulder into the floor.
"Auch! What is happening! I should have stage dived"

![]() |

Saeron becomes worried as the crowd breaks into a dance mob. Not wanting her concerns to distress the girls - and to help smoothe her progress through the masses -she attempts to follow the crowd's ebb and flow.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Nadia's not much of a dancer, but she has logged a fair number of hours on the Doki Doki Prance Pandemonium + machine while volunteering at the respite. She tries to Prance Prance her way through the crowd.
arobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
bit the song in her head doesn't match the song in the room and she doesn't get very far.

Patterson smiles at the nagaji girl as he makes sure his gear his secure. "Hang on tight, now!" In an amazing show of dexterity, he leaps through the crowd turning one-handed and hands-free handsprings and somersaults, all on the beat, and all without dropping his temporary charge. Coming out the other side, he gives the others a cocky grin, exchanging fist bumps and hand slaps with the dancers at the edge of the flash mob.
Acrobatics check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

The team gets into the spirit of the dance party, some more effectively than others. Your little riders peep with joy as they wiggle, quite uncomfortably, on your shoulders.
An official looking person shouts "Spot prize" as a camera-vesk focuses on Patterson . An official Strawberry Machine Cake - Live at Songbird Station" t-shirt is thrust into his hands.
And eventually you find your way to the residential section of the station. Your mini-riders dismount and wave a thankful farewell.
The address is next to one of hte stations carefully cultivated hyoallergenic gardens. A quick hack of station records easily provides the layout.

The human shakes his head. "Reminds me of when I had to impress Zo! at some reception or other. This amazingly strong half-orc--Oda was her name--was there. She and I teamed up--she'd toss me into the air, I'd do some flips, and she'd catch me on the way down. Good times." He folds the t-shirt and stows it in his pack.

Nadia taps her wrist computer, "Make sure to enroll in some cardio, maybe parkour lessons? Don't forget your medical extension courses start soon." She turns back to the group "Right then let's get to it."

![]() |

Iskakii saw the little girl fall to the floor, and swept in to grab her and fly her overhead before she can be trampled. He adds some flourish to his moves to make it seem like a dance rather than a protective maneuver.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (17) + 20 = 37

As you case out the holiday house, all the lights in the area suddenly go out. Causing quite a consternation among the one or two locals out walking. In a few seconds they come back on, but you do overhear a muttering from one couple"Hope that SMC concert isn't causing this. That is the third time in the last hour." followed by "Or maybe if it continues they will have to cancel?"

![]() |

Buddy tries to massage his own shoulder after his attempt to dance. The skitter looks at the two locals and stops them.
"Excuse me, my good nufriends, but what are you talking about? Is there anyone in need of help?" he asks hoping for confirmation

"The station power team if I get my hands on them." grunts the male vesk.
"Power has been on the blink for the last couple of hours."

A quick check of station maps shows the main engineering area is way back in the other direction from which you started. Meanwhile the rented house that you have identified as the residence of Lanzio is right next door.
And in the map

![]() |

"Shall we check in with this fellow, then lend a hand with the power?"

![]() |

Well, the front door of the residence has an impressive looking e-lock on it. Those of you skilled in such things computers, engineering or mysticism might be able to short-circuit it. Or you could bash it in. Or who knows, even knock?

![]() |

Can Kaylee check the locking or security system without actually doing any breaking and entering? If so...
Computers: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
(Wireless & Remote hack so I won't even need to be too close!)

![]() |

Kaylee can. For that result I'll let you know she thinks she could hack it open quiet easily. Take ten would likely succeed

![]() |

stuff: 1d20 ⇒ 12
You notice a twitch of the curtains, as if someone is in the residence, looking out..

![]() |

Sucky bad timing. Power's been out for a day after a bad storm. I'm so sorry about that!
Kaylee would turn her back and try to casually look at the pretty garden while whispering into her comm unit. "I could hack that door panel with my eyes closed. I'll bet Nadia could, too!"

![]() |

As they approach the residence, Saeron slips out her comms, pausing every few paces to snap images and video of the manicured gardens. "For the vidlog," she briefly offers by way of explanation, before returning to her task.
Occasionally, she scoops up a seed or off-cut, depositing it in the satchel slung over her shoulder.
Rejoining her companions in front of the building, Saeron notices the flicker of movement from the window.
Feigning organising her satchel's contents, she says, "Someone's home and they were watching from the window. They would have seen us out here."

![]() |

Saeron nods. "A good idea. You attract more flies with honey, as the saying goes."

![]() |

Saeron knocks amd waits for a response. When there is no reply, she leans closer to the door, listening for any sound within.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Unless she notoces anything, the lashunta looks to her companions and shrugs, before nodding toward the door and stepping clear.

![]() |

Kaylee will move up to about 10 feet of the door if the team agrees, trying to keep quiet about it, and will have Simon take 10 (24) on computuers to hack the panel on their signal. If anyone else is getting weapons out, she'll activate her armor's environmental protections and draw her pulsecaster rifle before starting the wireless hack.

With a click the door opens!
Within there is a man at a computer. He turns as the door opens, looks horrified and turns back to his computer. Two security robots swivel to cover the door.

Is there a map?
Buddy would move forward and draw his shield
"Hey chap! We come here to talk! Drop the robots and come to chat."

![]() |

Yes, there is a map, feel free to put yourself on it, by which ever door you wanted to go in via.
Map is linked at top of page and in my tag line.

"Wait! We're here to talk, not fight!"

You did get a description (an old photo)- and yes, he does look a bit like the man. Hard to tell for sure, but nothing jumps out as obviously different.

![]() |

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Startled by the unexpected bots, Saeron is slow to react.

"Arghh!" screams the man, taken by surprise.
"I knew it!" he dives for the computer, while the nearby robots spring into action, their weapons covering the door and ready to blast any who enter!

I was hoping everyone would be ready before she popped the door, but I love a challenge!
Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Glancing down at her nonlethal weapon, Kaylee curses when she sees the bots, knowing it won't work on them. Guessing the man inside won't be stepping down, she activates two of her exocortex programs, subvocalizing into her comm unit:
"Simon, run Program Mal and Program River!"
An energy shield activates around Kaylee, and her exocortex begins sending her combat tracking data on the man in the room.
