Sorry if I'm quiet. My knee is playing up and I'm both on painkillers and flat on my back. I'll try to post when I can.

That's what happens when you play World Cup soccer! ;)

It's that time of year again. Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year. I am going on holidays, starting the 17th, and expect to be back for Jan 3ed 2023. Posting may be sporadic; feel free to bot me if needed.
Talath Na'El |
I'll second that, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! I assume most of us will have sporadic posting for the next week or two so I'll check every day or two but I don't expect a flurry of posts.

Yeah, I expect posting to be spotty due to the holidays XD Yesterday was bonkers at work because I was the only librarian in the building. Getting a post up now tho
I know, I waited all day in line for you to find the ancient Sanskrit text!
Talath Na'El |
I've been sick these past few days. I'll post tomorrow~!
Get better soon, we'll send over Asher and Crispin with some chicken noodle soup. :)

Get well soon!

Happy Holidays! The New Year is right around the corner! :D
It is, hopefully everyone has a Happy New Year!
Talath Na'El |
Happy New Year! There is nothing in the books specifically about the spell lattice (other than being a level 2 spell) so I have to make something up.
Mirror Image, Invisibility, False Life are some of the more popular 2nd level spells.

Has everyone else been absorbed by the OGL 1.1 leak from Wizard of the Coast? It's high drama out there.
Yeah, it's an ugly look for them and potentially fatal (or super-painful in the short-term) for Paizo.
Also generally bummed about the passing of Adam Rich, who voiced Presto the Magician in the 80s D&D cartoon. (I figure I can through that out there since most of us players seem to be old-timers.)
Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |
Yeah, that's a shame. I always thought that with all the nostalgia properties being revived that a modern take on the old cartoon would be great.
Becky Beys |
Do you think the OGL 1.1 leak from Wizard of the Coast has legal potential to harm Pathfinder? Like demand money from Paizo?
If WotC pushes through OGL 1.1 in its current form, it replaces the previous OGLs; that makes the OGL PF1, PF2, and Starfinder use unauthorized and the products illegal to distribute.
OGF 1.1 also demands a 25% royalty on annual sales above $750,000 (currently; the threshold can be lowered with 30 days notice), so that'd hurt, too.

Yes the short version is, 1st edition Pathfinder would be dead in the water - Paizo would have to discontinue it completely. Not having played/read either Starfinder or 2nd edition Pathfinder I have no idea how the change effects those two product lines.
Rough estimate that 90% of the Core rulebook is either 3.5 or modified 3.5 and Paizo would no longer be able to use it.Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |
To add some additional color, the OGL 1.1 draft makes only the OGC 5.1 content valid, so no new products based on 3.x will be legal. It also restricts the new OGL to licensing for static electronic files, like PDFs, and print.
So, blogs, VTTs, video, streaming content, and electronic games become unlicensed.

Well, looky here....
Yes and it's caused me trouble the past 2 hours trying to get in here heh.
GM Ventiine |
Here it comes! (I hope)
I'll try to update later today. There is 1 more room on the first floor and I'll post basement.

Pretty much. Plus, in Paizo's blog post, stating they'll go to court vs. WotC/Hasbro has the troops fired up.
Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |
Their most recent post still says they are deauthorizing OGL 1.0a and the Open Gaming Content from DnD 3.x. So, backing down some, but not on the core complaint.

So, since there is a ship at port, you can send Aeroclyse off to rejoin his people or you can ask him to stay and become a colonist. (I'll just let you know: Like most cyclops, he is evil and will eventually lean toward his alignment unless guided by someone believing in redemption. The book has text allowing PCs to guide Aeroclyse to an alignment change but it doesn't impact the core story.)

Talath would vote to send him to rejoin his people.

Not sure if I am reading the loot sheet correctly. Is there an unclaimed ring of protection +2? If so, Mauro will stake a claim to it if his share allows...
Crispin Xantrian |
Sorry I'm so quiet. Things have been very busy in real life for me.
Crispin will copy the spells we found into his spell book.
He will also put up his hand for the Ring of Protection +2.
Purchase wise he's looking at a Rod of Extend spell (lesser] for 3000 if he can afford it.

Talath was using a Ring of Protection +2; I don't know if there was just the one or more than one.
I might also be absent for a bit; I'm quite ill and not sure how much time I'll be online vs. asleep.Asher 'Cinnis' Regillenus |

I will drop in the last of the loot tonight. I have been in Puerto Rico for work this week, so I am just monitoring. But I want to update the sheet, so everyone has their split.
Becky Beys |
Get well soon, Talath.
And thanks, Asher, for updating the loot list.
I'll try to get a post up later today or tomorrow.

A question for GM Ventiine: The Locathath value magic that enables a humanoid to function in an aquatic environment less (as they are aquatic themselves) and thus sell it at 1/2 price. Is the converse true, that they value magic that will let an aquatic creature function in air (say a necklace of air breathing...) more, ie buy at full price?

Sure! I like that for story immersion! :)

Please let me know if you have any questions about loot :D
Since I'm the 'new guy', I have no idea what decisions were made about loot in the beginning so if anyone can share that with me I would appreciate it.
For the GM: If you could visit the loot sheet and, perhaps in connection with certain skill checks (Diplomacy, Knowledges, etc.), indicate which items the PCs can sell at half value only or if some items have greater value to others. The Necklaces of Air Adaptation and the +1 Underwater Greataxe might be worth more to the locathah than others.I'm hoping the players can agree on what to keep and what to sell as the GM said Book 3 goes pretty much straight through so it sounds like this might be our last 'prep time' before we begin. Hopefully the PCs will have some days for Scribing Scrolls and Crafting during the sale/negotiations.
It might also be helpful to examine your PC and decide what item(s) you *really* want to purchase for them.
GM Ventiine |
Thank you to whoever (I assume Asher) filled in the loot sheet. It looks pretty!
The locathah are willing to pay full price for the necklaces of air adaption and underwater weapons. I added numbers to their column on the loot sheet.
I reached out to Antaral but I don't think he's coming back, so feel free to redistribute his portion of the profit. Items he previously claimed will remain with his character.
I'm going to nudge the story along tonight, but we will have time to continue with loot during that time.

@ Ventiine, the last time we levelled (to 6) was before we started on the crimson forest, and the witches tower felt like the boss fight for book 2. Should we be working on a level up as well?
Mauro Ocela |
Apologies if I just screwed up the loot sheet by adding posts 2615 and 2621. I did catch that the necklaces of air adaptation (all 7 of them) have been agglomerated into the initial entry post 1387...

You'll be level 6 for a bit longer
.
Ok, I updated the Combat Maps & Story Book
Here (link) is a scenic view of the bay as the supply ship arrives to Talmandor's Bounty's port.

I think we are talking past each other - everybody is level 6 currently. Should we level to 7th?
