Is it truly a DC 27 to identify the SLA that the Nemhain used? Normally the DC is 15+spell level. As you noted OOC it is Antilife Shell, which should be DC 21.

Daathiel activates his wand of Shield (no roll needed, now at 48 charges) and flies forward 10'.

Also note, anybody under the effect of Daathiel's performance also gets +1d6 sonic damage per attack from Discordant Voice.
I have tried to move so that Yuri will still be within 30' of Daathiel when he makes his charge (and therefore gets the sonic damage).

AC vs incorporeal touch is still "hit on a 2" for this thing...
Base 10, +4 Dex, +4 Shield, +3 Insight, +1 Haste = 22, but at least Daathiel is Blinking.

Oh, okay.... instead of using the Wand of Shield (so it is still at 49 charges), Daathiel will Dispel the Antilife Shell.

The archivist is calm and collected as he works to unravel the magic. Where other casters have to rely on fickle Luck, he relies on calculation and a bit of Arodenite magic.

Probable Path allows Take 10 on any 1d20 roll, 2/day. Grand Destiny gives +4 competence to any attack roll, caster level check, saving throw, or skill check, 3 uses per casting.

Dispel, Probable Path 1 of 2, Grand Destiny 1 of 3: 10 + 13 + 4 = 27
Knocks out the effect if CL16 or lower.

After taking the first attack instead of someone else like he wanted, he moved out of the way of the others' efforts. Granted, he hadn't planned on actually taking any damage. With someone already standing in a flanking position, Jack rushed in without waiting for his griffon to get in place as well. He had no idea how many more dangers there were remaining, but he couldn't let the insult stand. "How dare you touch me!"

Rokgurn breathes a little easier with a good deal of distance between him and the Nemhain. He decides to put his little bird's information to good use. He proudly casts his signature spell (Ball Lightning) which he perfected during his time spent at the Ruby Phoenix tournament. He aims all four balls at the undead monstrosity.

Jack follows up and retaliates, striking the Nemhain solidly with his blade, while his griffon gets in a bite as well...

Daathiel, since I erringly allowed the Nemhain to cast a full round spell as a standard action, and you spent an action to displel it, I'll allow Daathiel to have also been able to cast his Wand of Shield last round...

@GM Otha - The Ward hex would provide a +3 Deflection bonus and +3 Resistance bonus for a 14th level Witch but becomes inactive once the warded creature is hit. It will not help Yuri's saves anyways as he already is getting a +4 Resistance bonus from his cloak.

@GM - if the wand that Vladek's dragon is using is Call Lightning, that is actually 3d6 rather than 5d6, and the wand has a 1-round casting time just like the spell.

Rokgurn not wishing to be out done by the party bard sets up a nice relaxing mud bath for both Yuri and Jack.

"You two fought well. You deserve this. Don't forget about the Good Berries that should help as well."

Each will heal up 30 hit points from the mud bath and up to 8 hit points each from the Good Berries if they consume them.

Soothing Mud, Extended cast @ CL 15 with Place Magic.

When everyone is healed up and ready to examine the sarcophagus he prepares for the next conflict with a flick of his wand (Heightened Awareness is cast).

Yuri huffs and puffs to catch his breath but his anger at Dear Sister subsides and as it does he finds that he is actually amenable to the idea of a bit of healing in a nice tub of mud. "Aye, we dwarves been bathing in mud since before we saw the sky, an' I ain't afraid to admit it. It's mighty soothing an' it does wonders fer me complexion." After the bath he realizes he's a bit hungry so he gobbles down a couple of the surprisingly filling berries. "Oh my, these are good!"

Yuri should be fully healed now.

On the other hand, Jack stuck only his finger in the mud as he waited to catch his breath from going all-out in his anger. "I appreciate it. I really need to add prestidigitation to my spellbook one of these days. Would make tidying up much easier."
He looked back to the heavy pick that he hadn't used yet before settling his sight on the column. After a small time, he closed his eyes and started talking under his breath. There was a frown before looking at Yuri. "It didn't count. Ragathiel isn't going to let me cast magic vestment yet until its hiding spot is destroyed to actually slay it. Either that or we can go find some other evil doer."

It is hard to see us as the righteous ones here. Though I'll do my job for the Society.
Perhaps if we keep exploring we may find a more clear-cut evildoer.
Then again, I am not Ragathiel, and he may see things differently. Perhaps simply existing as an undead is evil enough in his eyes."

Jack shook his head. "Just being undead isn't an evil deed. Plenty of undead in the world whose original souls didn't want that happening to their bodies, but the means of creating undead is an evil act. But if she willingly did this to herself even if it was for good intentions... Anyways, I'm just making an assumption based on not feeling the potential to cast it yet. Either that or you can't technically slay something that isn't living."

After feeling rejuvenated, he wiped off his hand. "With all that said, it's currently passive, Dear Sister isn't leaving here, and only the adventurous would be coming here so there's no real risk with leaving it intact."

Inside the coffin lie the mummified remains of Drusus Sardisi Adella, clad in fancy masterwork plate armor with the howling medusa etched on the chest. His hands grip the hilt of a flamboyant +2 cold iron greatsword with a large ruby set in the pommel. His once-handsome beard is ragged, but still shows its red coloring; his teeth are clenched in an uneven rictus mocking the opulence of his burial. On his right hand is a ring of evasion that also bears the sigil of the howling medusa...

Jack retrieves his pick in anticipation of breaking up the column before Daathiel expresses his reservations...

OOC, I am fine keeping everything, but my PC should be at least a little bit uncomfortable here.
This is by far not the worst adventure in this regard - there is another module where Pharasman clerics give the PCs free reign to loot a tomb and take whatever they want.

"The burial of wealth with the dead is a wasteful process. We should take these items and sell them thus enriching the local economy. The dead has no more use for them."

"As for the Nemhain. It should be destroyed and it will be destroyed. Undead creatures are a blasphemy against the natural cycle. Now my understanding is that only the column needs to be destroyed and not the body itself. I would appreciate it if Yuri would take care of it."

Rokgurn is sure that no item of value is left behind (like the armour). He checks the bottom of the sarcophagus for good measure for any secret compartments (Take 10 on Perception is 39).

Rokgurn and Whisper check the column to ensure that smashing it will not collapse the room. Assuming all is well Rokgurn will point Yuri to the best place to smash open the column while keeping the body relatively intact.

He directs everyone to stand (or fly) back while Yuri demolishes the column.

Rokgurn is a trained Engineer (Profession) and Whisper's take 10 on K-Engineering is 26.

Yuri with his adamantine duergar and Jack with his pick have the pillar crushed in under a minute...dear sister’s corpse also pours out mangled from the smashing of the pillar and partially buried in the rubble...

You find nothing significant in the column, other than the battered corpse...

The four nagging sister spirits mourn...

”Poor dear sister...”

”You are not if the blood after all!”

”Certainly not!”

”Well, at least we won’t be forced to attend dear sister any more...”

...and then they fade away...

As Jack improves Yuri's apparel Rokgurn offers to toughen Yuri's skin against attacks.

Assuming that Yuri accepts Rokgurn will cast Barkskin on him.

(Barkskin cast at CL 15 for duration with a magnesium power component and extended with a rod. +5 AC for 5 hours.)

Now hopefully corporeal opponents will need more than a 2 to hit the Barbarian. :)
