Ibinu Kemish |
Ibinu blasts the front of the golem with fire and yells at Sophia, ”Move away from Inam, dying will not slow this thing down. But you can be there to help heal her after.”
He blasts it with another explosion, aiming to avoid any allies left of the field, then moves into a position closer to the golem.

Sequoya |
Sequoya stares down the behemoth as it races up the temple steps, knowing that there is nothing her bow could do to stop it. Fortunately, her skill with a bow was far from all she brought to the battlefield.
Reaching deep for the power of earth within all oreads, and calling upon the raging power to topple mountain, the huntress raises her foot, bringing it down in a powerful stomp that sends a terrifying shockwave racing down to greet the charging behemoth.
Cast Greater Thunderstomp
You stomp your foot or strike your weapon against the ground or floor, creating a ripple of power that you can use to trip a Creature. You can target multiple creatures with this spell, including creatures more than one size category larger than you.Attempt the Combat maneuver check to trip the targets, but instead of your base Attack Bonus you can use your Caster Level, and instead of your Strength modifier you can use your Spellcasting Ability Score modifier (Intelligence for magi and wizards; Wisdom for druids and rangers; Charisma for bloodragers and sorcerers). When you attempt the Combat maneuver check, apply its result to each Creature within the area. This trip attempt does not provoke an attack of opportunity.

Samen, Abbygailiwy lands lightly next to you, observing the golem's path of destruction. She smiles, looking as satisfied as a cat with bloody whiskers. Her eyes are a bright, luminous yellow. "Say-say, should I drink the phoenix and the paladin while they are distracted?" She whispers in your ear, her breath hot as a living coal. "This atmosphere of chaos and power - we could become gods, my love. What do you say?"

Sequoya, while Mishipeshu scores a few minor hits while avoiding the golem's feet, you have time to STOMP once more. At first, it seems to have no effect. The golem marches forward, inexorable, Moon leering down.

Samen, your last two blows resound against the golem's metallic skin, ringing like a gong. The torso gives way, the head crumple and twists, and the thing moves no more.
Gabriel, you put two arrows into the two eyes of the last inquisitor of Moon, and he wordlessly falls. No more questions escape his lips.

Ibinu brushes dirt off his clothes and stands, wreathing his body in flame.

Samen deflects Abnaki's half-hearted thrust and gives him a skeptical eyebrow. "Moon is probably right. How permanent is this fresh insanity of yours?"
He surveys the battlefield, scanning for the next most dire threat. The battle may be over for now, but the fighting never stops.

Combat Suspended
Having lost the flow of the silver golems, as well as the ambassador of the Lord Smiler's will, known as the Declarative...without support from its faithful...
Moon begins to Fall. Slowly.
You feel a panicked sensation washing over you, a desperate scrabbling, the psychic emanations of Being who feels fear for the first time in millenia. With a deafening roar, you see Moon's lurid smile, that infamous crescent, crumbling away. Is Moon dying?
But no, only the yellow smile cracks, and dims. The remainder of Moon--looking like a skull with a missing jaw, now--streaks away, back toward Light. The day is yours.
Niamh Emberheart |
The yellow stones, full of malice, fall toward Hearth.
But no elen need fear.
The Phoenix symbol, larger than the Courtyard now, blazing in defiance of the incoming destruction,
blazes white,
then out.
farewell!
Hubristic Efreeti |
The Temple stairs are cracked. Bodies lie everywhere. Fires burn here and there, and you hear the hideous moans of the dying. The smell of smoke and death clogs the air. A few pieces of stray moonrock litter the courtyard. Inam Emberheart is gone.
But the city lives. You hear shouts of victories being won in Stems. Elens are already rushing in to heal the wounded -- you see priests, alchemists, and even watersingers that were saved from their sleeping fates. The phoenix symbol reignites above the Temple, an eternal flame set against Evil. Volcano begins to beat once more, a low, dim red. You are all alive.
Hubristic Efreeti |
at this point I want to hand over narrative control somewhat - you all have spells, abilities, etc remaining, and there are still smaller combats throughout the city. Will you go and fight until you are used up? Are you going to rest? Go insane? Scoop up some precious golem metal? I'm open to you just saying "I use the fireballs in this way, etc," as you are all high enough level that you should have a little narrative control, especially after a big win like this.
Kazmanaught |
Abnaki takes another swing at Samen, this time with a fist. As it inevitably misses, he laughs, before suddenly getting cut off by his legs giving out. Looking up at Samen, his eyes wide with fear, and a terrible lucidity, he says, "Help me," and passes out.
I've taken -13 to will saves, and pushed myself far beyond narrative limitations, what with saving the Undines, Ohzna, and attempting to Declare things, I'm ok with being out of the picture for a little bit.
Gabriel Izalith |
Gabriel walks back over to the main group, half beaten but alive. Sword covered in inquisitor blood, dragging their dead corpses to a pile, Did anyone die? I worked on the Inquisitors as fast as i could
Samen Vloe Firenze |
Samen pries his fingers off his staff with difficulty. The time for violence seems to be past. He picks up Abanki's vacant body like a small sleepy child.
"You did good, Gabe, at least as much of it as I saw. Great work with the darkness. Lots of folks are dead, but nobody I'll remember tomorrow. I'm pretty sure Ohzna is alive, confused, and somewhere off that way." He vaguely gestures toward the South.
He considers his two murderous elementals who both nearly cost him everything, but in the end were crucial to the victory. Something would need to be done eventually.
"The balance of power in the elemental realm has changed. Time will tell what that means."
After carrying Abnaki back to camp, Samen is going to commune with Samoon's star-friend (still can't remember his name) to find out what's happening in Light. Then he'll spend the rest of the night trying to check in with Obdurate, and by extension the Oreads up north.
Ibinu Kemish |
Ibinu doesn't wait to see if anyone else here needs help, he zips out into the town. When he finds one or two enemies, it is fire-shield and claw time. If there is a group, he blasts with his last fireball or lines them up for his last firebreath.
But he avoids the tree district... they don't like his flames. Jerks. Besides that is probably where Kallik and Sequoya are going.
He makes sure to check on the alchemists, they probably didn't get much help.
And when his spells are gone and no more claws or bites, he just stabs with his spear and supports anyone fighting. As allies fall, he will stabilize them from death and pull their bodies from danger.
It is a LONG night.
Kallik Sisa |
Looking around and taking a moment to crack her neck. Calling out, "I'm heading to the tree." She doesn't wait for a response and jogging in the direction of the massive tree.
Heatbeat matching the thumbing of her boots on the stone. Leaping over rubble and the occasional corpse. Kallik is a mostly brown blur racing though the city. Either acid or lightening are part of the blows with that white axe when she runs into the lingering ilk in the city.
Sucking in big gulps of air by the time she enters the Slums.
Sequoya |
From her vantage point on the broken steps, Sequoya takes in the remnants of the battle field. Determining her immediate area secure, she and Mishipeshu take off after Kallik, to bring annihilation to any lingering enemies in the tree district.
Hubristic Efreeti |
Kallik, Sequoya, and Mishipeshu, you all rush off to the Young Elder within the slums. The fighting seems to have died down around the courtyards, but outside of the Temple's influence things are still dangerous. Laughter and slaughter run in the streets.
The oreads there have made a strong defense, but they welcome your assistance. You see magicians, warriors, and shamans, but very little of the Fey. It seems the Fey have retreated to their lairs within the Elder, and you see very little of them during the battle. The half-breeds (such as Odebie of the King's Tribe, and yourselves, now that you think of it) contribute more muscle and blood to the battle than anyone else.
As though the three of you have collected the ambient energy of the Elder and the hiding Fey, you are all practically buzzing with energy by the time you gain the Tree. Kallik is blurred and crackling; Sequoya is focused and deadly; Mishi is loping and alert. You stalk inquisitors and end them. Followers of Moon are killed without hesitation or mercy.
The Quiet Elder is kept safe.
Hubristic Efreeti |
Ibinu, as you bank around the Temple is vengeful flight, you see the Eternal Phoenix bow its flaming head toward you. The smallest wink of yellow flame from its eye. Inam, saying goodbye. Etrah, saying goodbye.
Remember - everything will be alright.
You melt golems, kill inquisitors, and free the enslaved where you can. The candles burn slowly. You wonder at times if you are stuck in hell; considering your various excursions in planar travel, it is not out of the question.
But times passes, and bright is upon you. The mercurial night is over.
