Gareleth walks up to take the crown, then thinks better of it and checks for traps.

Assuming he finds none The Half-Orc looks about at his friends and says, "Anyone mind if I take this as a souvenir for Hallin? Little tyke loves when I bring him odds and ends from my travels." He than looks back at the crown and says, "A bit of tidying up and it will probably look quite presentable," and reaches out to take it Again, unless he found traps in which case he points them out to Andy for disabling before having the "souvenir" conversation.
Parrameleh whirls around and hisses at Gareleth, "Do not touch that."
Seeing that she should probably explain some more, she goes on, "A creature crazed with anger, and capable perhaps of killing trolls, has built a monument, a shrine. Do you wish to enrage this creature by stealing its most precious object? The apex of its memorial?"

![]() |

Andrelis grins, Well, it is a thought... but Parrameleh's right Gareleth- leave the shrine alone until we see what we're dealing with here. satisfied his brother will listen to reason, he nods to Parrameleh.
Shall we see what's behind the next door? the elf advances as quietly as he can in his armor, and inspects the door for traps and checks if it is locked while he's there.

Andrelis moves over to the iron gate and opens it slowly. The iron gate lets out a quiet screech. Skeletal corpses thinly wrapped in decaying burial linen rest in niches cut into the stone of a wide hallway, which is intersected by numerous narrow fissures. Many of the niches have collapsed, with bony remains jutting out of the rocks and dark earth. Andrelis looks at one of the skeletons in one of the collapsed niches. Under a pile of rubble, he notices the arm of the skeleton twitch - undead! But as long as nobody removes the rubble, the skeleton poses no threat.
At the end of the short hallway is another iron gate that is slightly ajar.
Please roll a stealth check!

Gareleth looks disappointed, but agrees with a statement of, "Ok, but after we clear out whatever's in the next room, I still call dibs on the crown."

Andrelis breathes deeply, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other, ignoring the twitching remains buried under the rock, and Parrameleh's snarls. He moves forward like a ghost, sheltering in the door jam, ready to cut down anything which threatens his friends.

Tuck follows as quietly as he can.

He hangs back, aware of his past record with stealth but remains alert, ready to rush in should something attack.

Ironically the DC to spot someone not sneaking is 10 so Yuzu and Tuck were MORE obvious than someone just walking

GM Mauve |

I haven't seen that movie in forever!
Andrelis slowly but surely makes his way to the second set of iron gates giving the skeleton a wide berth. There is a grunting sound coming from the other side. Hanging upside down by a hefty chain hangs a troll. The troll is missing one arm while the other is tied behind its back with rope. A gash crosses its chest with heaps of oozing entrails slowly slithering back into its abdomen. Blood and guts drip to the floor. Andrelis swears he sees a lung or kidney fall and burst. It looks alive... but barely.
Trolls are capable of regeneration and are nearly impossible to kill due to it. Acid and fire are one way as is starvation. Looks like this creature is very starved, but still alive.
Combat begins! Please wait for an update.

Parrameleh steps into the room as the troll struggles to breath. The blood pooling beneath it grows steadily. She gets a better sense of the room. The room is filled with relief-covered walls surrounding a large stone altar. The reliefs depict scenes of Aroden on Golarion, particularly a lesser miracle performed at Westcrown, in which he transformed and revitalized a garden of roses.
Besides the troll, all is quiet. It looks Parrameleh directly in the eyes with sadness. Looks like its been crying or something.

Yuzu takes her nodachi in both hands, taking a deep breath.
"A troll in distress is a rare thing;
Less common, I'd think, than a dwarf that can sing.
We are in danger, that's for sure;
But what is it we should watch for?"
Lacking a better option, Yuzu will take Total Defense.

![]() |

Parrameleh's pupils stretch thin, her back arches slightly, her hair thickens... shifter's aspect +2 dex as she looks at the creature cautiously.
Total defence.
She tilts her head to one side, worth a try
"ਇੱਥੇ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ?"
"What happened here?"
"Kedu ihe mere ebe a?"
She repeats the phrase in each language she knows.

"What could have taken down this troll?" Gareleth muses as he scans the room from the entryway.

Seeing no clear and obvious answer, Gareleth simply takes up a readied stance to cast ray of frost if an enemy appears.

GM Mauve |

There are several fissures around the room, possibly big enough to squeeze in. Piles of rubble fill the room too, most likely from an earthquake. Nothing seems to happen. The troll looks pretty harmless as of now.

GM Mauve |

Tuck moves slowly in to the room, but out of reach of the troll. It struggles to free itself, but Tuck can tell it's very weak and theres very little chance it will. Tuck does see the troll's missing arm in the back corner with a huge chunk of it missing - almost as if was being eaten.
Then the troll snaps at Tuck, but the monk is too far away. Maybe the troll is hungry (the troll is definitely hungry), maybe as a way to get help, or maybe just as a natural reaction.

She shakes her head as she looks around, "This troll is grotesque, pitiable and dangerous, all at once. I imagine its captor will laso be grotesque, pitiable and dangerous. That also describes this place."
"Thrune sowed their devilish seeds and this is what grew."
Parrameleh moves around the room to the south and examines the fissures in the wall there.

"Ah yes, the fissures. And excellent notion," Gareleth says, moving to inspect the fissure near where Parrameleh went. "Pardon me, good fellow," he says, walking past the troll.
If the troll takes an AoO, since Gareleth would be walking right past it, his AC is currently 20 since moving over 10' would add the AC bonus from his dancing scarves.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15

The troll does indeed lash out at Garaleth, but it struggles against its chain and can't seem to chomp down on antyhing.
As Parrameleh comes down to the lower fissure, something pops out of the shadows at her. The creature comes out and bites down on her shoulder. Ouch! Parrameleh takes 6 points of damage then must make two Fortitude saves. First is vs a disease, second is vs paralysis.
Gareleth realizes something is attacking and blasts cold energy in its direction! Direct hit.

Unfortunately trolls are Knowledge (local) since they are humanoid.

Nereus knows that ghouls have a nasty bite that can disease and paralyze opponenets, something Parrameleh knows all too well.
