Greetings everyone. It has been a long time, but I am back to continue. I am ok but things here have not been so well. We've had floods here in australia east coast (didn't lose anything thankfully) so lost power and internet for a time. Then after that I've had to move house and only just able to relax. Not a bad idea actually. It would let us fill in gaps, or for that matter stay alive, as a three person party is down one point for APL. Which in another S&S game I'm in has been a problem at various points.


It was in the original recruitment post that you will gain mythic tiers at the end of each book. The island is the last part of book 1 so there is that to look forward to.

Earthsong was meant for support and healing to some degree. Going mythic will continue that. Having spent time looking, I'm not well-suited for gestalt in terms of my ability scores; Wisdom is her high score, the rest not so much. Not to mention druidic limitations. Fun to think about though.

Having done Wrath and Mythic levels I'd prefer that to Gestalt.

That's because whoever designed the monster failed to understand that being limited to single moves is almost as bad as a full stun...and it just stunned the party. Can't do that with power word stun.

Congratulations guys you have defeated the final boss of the first book of Skulls and Shackles. You are now level 5.

When/If you accept the boon/curse of the gift from Besmara and install it on your ship you will find some other benefits that benefit the ship and crew. But I shall only reveal that if you do take the helm for your ship.

Of course, the curse part is merely that with accepting favour from one god, followers of others are likely to move against you, especially those that seek power in the shackles. Is it worth the risk?

I will also open up recruitment now for 2 or 3 more to join us after the ship gets to a safe harbour and you can start recruiting a full crew.

First: a question. Since this game is ABP, does that mean the weapons we found with enhancement bonuses lack them? Like the bolts and the Vindictive Harpoon?

Second, who wants what from the loot? :-) I'm built on first level gear but I note Rosanne and Toby don't exactly have a lot either.


I forgot to change those. They should have a +1 equivalent enchantment instead.

I could use the wand of summon nature's ally. The lesser bracers of archery and the masterwork cold iron sickle also suit. The spearhead can hopefully be made into a spear if someone wants it, though I think I will avoid spears for a weapon for now.

I was also going to ask what happened in game terms to our teammates. The Whale got them? Fade into background as crew? Stirge food?


Jacques, Amuro and other PCs will leave the crew/decide the pirate's life isn't for them after all.


You will need to fill certain roles to have the ship managed effectively. The Master-at-arms and Master Gunner positions can be bundled with other roles. So someone could potentially be First Mate and Master-at-arms.

Officers don't count toward the required crew amount (currently 20). It is good to have double that or more so the crew can work in shifts. I'll add this to campaign tab so it can be easily updated in future.

Unfortunately, Earthsong is a lubber LOL


With 5 PCs and 7-9 officer spots there is plenty to choose from Earthsong. There aren't many requirements either.

Captain and first mate make profession sailor rolls. Same with sailing master. It could help the surgeon to have ranks in heal, craft carpentry skill helps for fixing a damaged ship. Profession cook helps with cooking. That's about it I think though I may be missing something. Eventually you might all be captains if you capture many ships and are able to get enough crew to man them all.
