Nope.
In THIS case, I would be the one doing the throwing! :)
I'm just hoping that they do what's 'right' and fix it, since they have admitted that they found a hole that was not sealed properly.
(Even though ONE guy kept insisting it was a 'pinhole')
[I dont care HOW small the hole is, LOOK AT MY MOLDY WALL AND SAGGY CEILING!]
;P
Well TODAY is last day of show. Kind of bittersweet. We have been working on this show (off & on) for at least a year and a half now. (We got shut down last year RIGHT before we were supposed to open due to Covid lockdowns)
So on the ONE hand, we are sad to see it go.
On the OTHER hand, we are READY for it to go! ;)

Feel that,
my roof repairs I just had fixed teh problems, BUT there was a 'small mistake' made, and they left a 'Small hole' along my chimney.
(I dont care HOW small the hole is, it let in a LOT of water!) -_-
SO,... Now I have to rearrange all of the junk in my garage, so I can get to and hopefully save, the now mildewing wall on the backside of my chimney. And the roof section that got soaked. :(
Yeah, I don't think that KILLZ is gonna fix this.
I am just hoping, and waiting , to hear from the roof company that they are gonna do me right and pay for the repairs.
In the meanwhile, I'm just glad the mistake was on the garage side of things.because if this crud was IN my house, I would be very uncomfortable, (AND P!$$%@) right now.
Sorry, just, EVERY time I turn around it is SOMETHING new to deal with.
Old wizzie is getting to old for this stuff. :P

Nothing like having the folks making repairs making things worse. I would imagine that you'd have a legal case (not that you want to go through that) against them if they aren't going to pay to fix it (or suggest that they do it themselves - though I'd be nervous about that).

Heading out on a trip for a few days. Not taking a laptop, but I suspect I'll have some time to post here and there.

Right - so - just to confirm, you used the same language mix as the first drop (i.e. - Aklo/Skald/Aklo), and etched the following messages onto your forgeries:
- Contact says warband broken, leader killed. Warband to Lastwall for supplies.
- No raiding farms. Search (somewhere nearby?) for mine entrance.
- Dwarf making us look in wrong place. Kill them.
With "somewhere nearby" having been a variable to be filled in with a place that's away from farms and things you know about while also being potentially dangerous? I suppose I can hand-wave a conversation with Rickan or Hamish for suggestions for that.
And, given his skill ranks, that you had Costin doing it (with Aid from Merlan)?
That about right?
Fiona nel Mare
That sounds about right to me. Fiona can also aid with her ranks in Linguistics.
Ragadolf
And teh 'AYE's' have it! ;P
Sorry, trying to catch up.
RL has been a real pain lately.
DOnt know WHY, or how.
Not even all 'bad',... just,... a pain. :P
FAir warning, Starting this weekend, I have a week-long show rental on my stage, which basically means I get to live at work until they are gone. O_o
Sooo,... If a certain short, chatty wizzie is unusually silent for a time,... he's being uncharacteristically thoughtful.
Don't worry! It won't last long.
(Not long enough, at any rate) ;P

Hi everyone,
I'm going to update the list of what's available at Firrine (which can be found on the wiki -- though it won't have changed much over 4-5 days) over the weekend -- and let's try to finish up the RP so you can arrive there soon.
All that because I'm going to be away starting Wednesday (the 27) and not home 'til the 5th (and likely unpacking, etc.) and probably not online and able to keep up/advance things until Monday the 8th.
That said, I'd like to hit the ground running at that point - so I'd be hoping you'll all handle your splitting, picking out of stuff to buy, and generally be ready to go when I get back.
Tilnar
Just posting this because I promised not to change the rules on folks without warning, and because it's come up in a different campaign -- but I'm going to be applying a small amount of common sense in the following way:
- If you're flying and get bull rushed, such that it knocks you back 5' (or more), then that counts as a "collision while flying" and requires the dude who got rushed (and, usually, the rusher) to make a fly check or make with the falling and crashing.
I'll also go put that in the wiki for posterity.
Tilnar
Ok, kids. It's getting a little later in the day of the 26th, meaning our intrepid and wonderful GM will need to go full on into prep mode for his flight tomorrow.
So, whilst I'm away, you can either work out shopping (there were no changes, I rolled) or decide on a Plan B (or both) -- but I'm hoping to Rock and Roll starting on the 8th when I'm back.

Hey all,
Apologies for my extended absence.
RL has been kicking me in the 'nuggets' lately.
Between dealing with 'back to normal busy' on top of 'still covid requirements', I have had cascading equipment failures, AND dealing with employer requiring me to get vax by 'deadline', but I have had the antibody infusion, so I CAN'T get the vax by 'deadline'.
Add to that a son who is having extreme self esteem and anxiety issues,...
Sorry, oversharing.
Point is, I am not ignoring the games, I luv the games and the characters, and the folks I share them with. I am just dealing with a lot right now. I will catch up as soon as I can. Promise.
Hope to see you all in -game soon!
Thank you,
~Rags

Which one's the nice GM?
(I need to write up a post, I know... will try to do that tomorrow.)
Tilnar
I prefer enigmatic to mysterious, personally. :P
Ok, so, based on the current discussion, new plan is to send Witch and Warpriest away and everyone else to hide in the plains for 4 days?
(I suppose you could go back to the woods for more cover, but then you're halfway back to Firrine yourselves.... Unless you've a different or better idea of where to hide?)
Tilnar
In an ironic twist, the party is split about whether or not to split the party.
Ok, with the interest of moving on - quick off-line vote -- majority as of noon (12:00) EST Tuesday the 16 -- so 26-and-a-half hours from now.
Option 1: Go to Firrine (whole party) as planned.
Option 2: Pretend to leave and try to hide in the hills (whole party).
Option 3: Split the party - Sahar and Costin to Firrine, rest of party hides per Option 2.
I'll move things along tomorrow afternoon (my time).

Eloen Tamlyranth wrote:I'm not going to vote because I feel like whatever I say, someone will yell at me and say I'm wrong.Only Merlan yells, and he’s just a halfling. You can always just stuff him in a sack.
Oh you can stuff him inna sack,... just remember that he WILL (eventually) get out.
And he knows where you sleep,... :)| Fiona nel Mare |
Option 3 as well.
Eloen, if someone's offended you I'd encourage you to reach out to that person and talk about it (with curiosity and openness).

This is a good point. Nobody in this game is a mean person. Excitable and flip, perhaps, but not mean. And we play our characters as they are envisioned, not as passive-aggressive proxies for our own feelings. In fact, I've seen some of us apologize pre-emptively for things our characters say and encourage people to push back in-character. So I second Ola on this.
Eloen Tamlyranth
No, I just feel like the few times I've spoken up in-character with an opinion about our direction, it's been immediately shot down as a bad idea, so I'm just going to shut up and let people who know what's going on make the decisions.
Tilnar
Ok, the heading back folk are going to ride through and be a little tired when they arrive, that's easy and understood.
For the other gang -- is there a broader plan than "loop around" -- like is there a specific place you want to try to hide? Or were you planning to keep moving as much as possible?
Either way, how far out will you be? Is the plan to try to stay close enough to town to observe (presumably this would involve using familiars as scouts -- or magic)? Or to try to monitor one of the orcish sites?
As you prepare answers to those (I'm just going to go with whatever's said before noon tomorrow -- and in the absence of that, fill in the blanks myself in the interest of moving on) -- I'd just like to remind everyone that the terrain near "town" (such that it is) is hilly grassland -- and the ground gets more sparse (but less even) as you head north and west (toward the mountains) -- and that straight north for a couple of hours would lead you into the Ghostlight Marsh, which orcs are a afraid of, so it could work as a hiding place. [Though there are also worser things than orcs out there. ]
Treppa
Party that is staying: we do have a grass/plains camo tent that might be helpful. We also have two "dark lanterns" that might make your camping place less visible at night.
EDIT: Tent is a medium tent, which holds 2 medium creatures. If you set up in a hollow, the tent might be a good lookout blind on a high point?

Loot discussion:
I think we decided the following somewhere but may not have explicitly stated it.
Moon Blade: Merlan
Wand of cloak of shade: Sell, as it seems mostly designed to protect sun-sensitive creatures or for extreme hot climates.
4 gallon Cauldron of Brewing: Sell? Keep? Might be handy for a fire-free hot meal for a concealed band. Party item?
Shield Cloak: This seems useful for a caster, though there's an arcane spell penalty. Might be better for divine. Sahar has a buckler she's happy with. Merlan, Costin, Eloen - anyone want the shield cloak?
I think we should leave the Handy Haversack with the remaining party so they have a place to stow a lot of gear quickly if need be. Our beasts of burden can carry the heavy gear to town.
We also have some scrolls Eloen could use, like lead blades and a cure light/cure moderate.
Sandy can use the flame blade scroll.
Costin or Merlan could use the scrolls of false life and shield.
Sahar can repair the wolfy barding for Kruss.
Tilnar
Just a note -- as I said prior to the vacation, I'd like to kick this up to a decent rate of speed (hey, ideally, the way we posted when it started) -- so I'll be pushing the pace a little more than before (especially as I'd hope to get us to something interesting before you silly folks celebrate the harvest like 6 weeks late for some reason -- or, worse, that whole solstice/Yule thing happens and we all get trapped with our "families".)

<Peeks into thread>
Um, Hi? O_o
Sorry, but I swear RL just wont, stop, swinging.
(At me. It's swinging at me. Honestly.)
I will try to catch up, and then keep up, but at this point I aint promisin' squat! :P
(Every time I think I have everything under control, YOINKS! someone or something yanks the rug out from under me. Again.) ;P
Hope everyone else's Thanksgiving week is starting out a little calmer than mine? :)
