Shoma's laser cuts through the heavily burnt skeleton and watches it break apart as several streaks of light erupt from the skeletal body and explode in the sky in a series to colorful fireworks.

"And it looks like there is a sudden surprising light show! It looks as though the Starfinders have found the special bonus target scoring double points for the kill!"

"But will they last to the end to enjoy these points?" Quell cackles as his platform is lit by the bright explosions.

The remaining two undead press forward with rifles in hand and take shots and Nelek and Mahari. Only one of the shots land on Nelek, digging deep into his armor.

After another minute Lethea reports, "And after tallying up the kills we have the results. The Starfinders, with 8 kills and one lucky bonus earn 90 points. The Moxies, with 4 kills, earn 40 points. Starfinders take another round!"

With a fanfare you are brought back in the halls below the complex.

Your rivals have far less confidence than at the start overall, but have not lost any of ther enthusiasm. A few team members of arguing over over their tactics and failures, Mia being vocal on the failures of others and Rafelo's combat tactics especially.

They hush as you pass by, Mia refuses to look at your group, eyes dead ahead. Shonvyzam makes herself busy with some modifications to her rig. Verity-5 gives a courteous nod. Tillik is eyeing the group, looking for some loose item to steal and show off more of his skill and style. Rafelo takes the moment to whisper something to Tillik and, in response, the pahtra nods and gives a silent smirk to the Starfinders.

As she passes the Moxies, Mahari sashays up to the handsome lashunta and in her best bedroom voice whispers a proposition to him. She makes an obvious play of watching Mia's reaction while she does. @GM re: Sleight of Hand:
I initially wanted her to take his comm unit to spy on their plans. That's totally in character, but realized that might be too hard for GM to adjudicate. Then I thought about taking his sidearm, but what would she do with it, and would you really just let her have another gun. Maybe a grenade? Or a serum?

Prank War Map

The staff member relates to Mec-01 that you will be taken to a special stage where you will be competing against your rival team to capture their flag, a neutral flag, and protect your own.

The flag is pretty about five feet tall and made of rather dense metal, both the pole and the flag itself. The flag is 3 bulk.

Characters have time to spend resolve in addition to other preparations.

Rafelo's confidence is seemingly not damaged at all as he responds to Mahari, "I appreciate the attention as you take advantage of your moment of the spotlight, but I will still hold out for a finer catch. A night with either, or both, of our hosts is far more tantalizing."
Mia refuses to acknowledge Mahari as the others drag Rafelo away as he opines more on Quell and Lethea.
Rafelo Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
While removing Rafelo's comm system from his armor isn't viable, Mahari is able to quickly match her comms with his current encryption code and connect to their comm channels, at least for the moment.
I'm fine with you using the sleight of hand as an opportunity to spy on their plans.

Mec-01 had caught sight of Shonvyzam's drone as it left your room and crawled away with haste into facilities halls. With his previous experience during the cooking extravaganza, he is able to quickly spot a bit of sabotage. There is a magnetic beacon attached to your provided flag similar to the that of Shonvyzam's equipment.

Destroying the beacon isn't viable without destroying the flag itself, but you can attempt to disable the beacon with Computers or Engineering

There is a cent be of conversation over the comms from the other team.

"We are too far behind on points, to win outright," offers Rafelo in attempt to lead the group. "But we can least demonstrate show that we can win in a head to head. All other things equal, we grab the unclaimed flag, claim it, and take a win. Maybe land a few shots on them to widen the win more."

Mia Moxie's responds is loud and viscous overwhelming the others on the comm. "And where in your plan did you not get it through your thick skull that I'm not leaving our flag alone! As soon as we walk out of our base Mahari or android is going to run in, take my flag, and then lord it over us!"

Verity-5's focuses on on clarifying the statement with a calm, "Android? Are you referring to Mec-01 or FlexNaught?"

"I don't care!" Mia responds, exhausted by the question. "Point is that they will come here to take what is mine, and I'll mow them down!"

There is a pause as Verity-5 responds, "your reaction is based on tactics we can't be certain of, I do concur with Rafelo we should seek out the highest value objective."

Shonvyzam offers her own thoughts. "I'll head with the rest of you to take that flag. Maybe catch them as they try to take it. We don't know what they will do, but I've got plenty of perfect bits of engineering in play here to answer them. If they manage to get to our base, I'll come back and help crush them. I don't like this, barely winning plan. With their showboating I want to make sure this is what shows up on the highlight reels."

Rafelos does admit, "I would certainly prefer more highlights that don't involve me falling into quicksand."

The conversation does continue but goes around covering the same general plan outlined above.

Shortly before the event production has you change your comm channels to hose belonging to Zo!'s production team. The Moxies' seem to do it as their own comms cut out.

Prank War Map

After another lengthy elevator ride you travel through an aluminum tunnel to an airlock door and emerge on a destroyer-class starship within one of the floors in Zo!'s studio megacomplex.

"Our final challenge simulates boarding action on a craft travelign through hostile space!" Quells voice reverberates through the cargo hold through your comms. "With weapons set to stun, our intrepid teams fight for control over the ship."

Lethea takes over the explanation repeating the scoring for the match. A team scores 30 points for capturing the enemy flag, 40 points for capturing the unclaimed flag and 10 points for taking out an enemy. When the doors open, the battle begins. Good luck warriors!"

You have three rounds to prepare, position, or anything else you wish. Your flag is with you, you can do what you want with it, keeping in mind the restrictions in discussion.

I would highly recommend you post what you plan to do in the challenge either here or in discussion as appropriate in case there are multiple plans people want to execute.

The kasatha follows on the same way and manner. To stay up and well balanced.

Dataphiles

NonBinary CN Human ace pilot Mystic (medic) 1 SP 8 / 8 HP 10 / 10 | RP 2 / 4 |Active conditions: None | EAC 13; KAC 14 | Fort +1; Ref +2; Will +5

Prep Round 3:

"Alright, I'll help myself! Shoma grabs the tac pistol from the loot crate and puts it on their belt. Laser pistol is in hand for the start of the challenge.

Let the Games Begin

Shoma pushes towards the doorway out of the back room, floats 15 feet and reaches for the doorframe -
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
They catch the door gracefully! Now it's an easy climb along the wall the rest of the way until they're posted up in the doorway into the engine room.

Two move actions, 15 feet each. Do we not need to roll to move half speed as long as we remain attached along a continuous surface?

Second Seekers (Roheas)

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Kiirinta Biohacker 3 | SP 18 / 18 | HP 22 / 22 | RP 6 / 6| Active conditions: None| EAC 17; KAC 17 | Fort +3; Ref +4; Will +2 | Speed: 20ft / 20 ft fly | Biohacks Remaining 4/6 |

Prep Round 3

Misty quickly grabs the sonic pistol from the crate, and injects themselves with a booster.

+10 movement speed for 4 rounds, sent to flight.
3/5 Biohacks remaining.

First Round

When the bell alarm sounds Misty Kit does something that they have not done in the entire time you have known them....

Misty Kit speaks out-loud.

"Let's go Starfinders!"

You would swear that a sound that you would almost swear shakes the room. Everyone almost seems propelled out the doors as they open. The shout however, seems to have left Misty Kit woozy and tired.

Misty Kit moves to cover the doorway with Mahari.

A little re-flavoring to the feat Startled Scream. Since there was no surprise round this combat, the entire party, other than Misty Kit themselves, gets a +1 to initiative, and Misty Kit is shaken by the effort for one round.

Prank War Map

@Misty Kit, I have adjusted the party initiative up +1

So there are two main reasons for making an Athletics or Acrobatics in zero-g here. To avoid the off-kilter condition when crashing into a wall or if you try to move your full speed for an action by climbing along the walls.

Reasonably, for ease of play, if you are just moving half speed, you can do that without a skill check.

More Initiative:

1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Thud: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Thud: 1d20 ⇒ 17

FlexNaught sees the flag right by the captain's chair, but his auditory sensors are picking up far more. He hears multiple people kicking off walls and slamming into metal, but the fastest among them flies past the shared entrance into the engine room. FlexNaught can tell from the noise that the one of the other team also has jump jets.

I have marked spaces with blue squares where FlexNaught can locate enemies with his blindsense

Round 2 of 20
Enemy 1
FlexNaught (Init 21)
Shoma Steel (Init 17)
Nelek (Init 16)
Misty Kit (Init 13)
Mec-01 (Init 11)
Enemy 2 with Jump Jets
Mahari Jones (Init 9)
Enemy 3

Everyone is up. I assume Mahari held up in the cargo hold as previously indicated, otherwise she can also take her prior turn.

If I bold an enemy for a turn, it means they take their turn in the middle of your group and that they haven't taken their turn yet. I'll take their turn as I'm able.

The kasatha moves as quick as possible near the position he should reach.

2x half movement.
