Gunnz |
Gunnz continues to move around, slipping into the shadows and darting around her Starfinder allies.
stealth for trick attack: 1d20 + 19 - 20 ⇒ (6) + 19 - 20 = 5 Unlikely.
attack vs EAC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 [ooc]vs FF so extra +2 needs to be included
F damage: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8 Ohh, x2 for crit. Pity I missed the trick attack.
"Why?" she asks. "Do you want to die as well?"
Gunnz |
"What did you do to annoy them so much?" Gunnz asks Datch, as she quickly checks the body for clues, or valuable equipment.
Conrad Castamir Kerbouchard |
"Hmmmm...." Conrad searches the dead elf for an ID. [ooc]Would Take 20 if time allows. Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Gunnz |
"Sounds like you were being played. What was the substance you were looking to harvest?" inquires Gunnz as she prods Datch toward the exit.
Thomagar Dayana |
Thomagar looks suspiciously at Datch as he moves over to the elevator entrance cautiously, mindful for whatever other surprises there might be.
Orrian Balnelis |
"Which world?" Orrian wonders while hustling toward the exit before the ship explodes.
"And where is it?"
Zargothrax McDonald |
Zargothrax grabs Ioveth's body by the legs to drag into the Pegasus. "Srurdez... grab Datch and let's load em up... and lock em in the cargo hold. We got time on the clock ann ahm a wondrin' what else Datch is hidin' on this ship... prolly 'splodin it to dee-stroy the evi-ee-dance."
Suggesting to check the other rooms, particularly if it helps other tables. If it doesn't, I'll just assume that the clock is blinking red and it's time to pull a Radaszam and jet without looking at the explosion. Also, if you're poking around in the GM thread and someone is looking to pass an aid token, Zargothrax would be happy to spend a resolve boost and pass.
GM Bret |
Conrad doesn't find anything of special interest on Iroiveth's body. Sintered longsword, Red Star plasma pistol, estex suit III, a few extra batteries, signs of various augmentations being installed.
"Some mostly water planet out in the vast..." She thinks a moment, then adds "Arniselle? Pretty sure that was the name."
The countdown is active. If you take the elevator, you are done and get out safely. If you explore more, you could generate another success but there are so few of those that I don't know it will get to 100% anyways.
Thomagar Dayana |
There's still one more room we haven't explored? If so...
Thomagar looks up to the elevator, then back to the rest of the ship. "I agree. If we are going to do this, let's do a thorough job."

You go through the door that Iroiveth came out, and investigate the doors. Nothing seems amiss.
"That timer is ticking down. What would you do if I lied about the timer?" Datch asks, obviously curious about your answer.
Three doors lead into this cavernous chamber with a towering forty-foot-high ceiling. The vault-like room is lined with black metal filing cabinets that feature heavy duty locks, and the area is dimly lit.
Zargothrax McDonald |
"Prolly letcha die with us."
Zargothrax inspects the labels on the black metal filing cabinets.
"Hrm... Mayhem... Emperor... Ihsahn... Darkthrone... whass all this stuff?"
He snaps his fingers to better illuminate the room (Dancing lights!) then pulls out his engineering toolkit to work on the locks.
Engineering: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Gunnz |
Gunnz also tries to tackle some locks to see what may be of interest.
"Lets grab some documents and get out. Our real prize is with us."
engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
GM Bret |
You quickly realize that the cabinets are arranged in alphabetical order. Zargothrax failed in their first attempt to open the lock, but Gunnz managed it. Inside are files relating to individuals and organizations within the Pact Worlds.
"Oh dear, next time I will need to find better locks."
Culture or Mysticism check please
Gunnz, if you had a particular part of the alphabet you would have gone for, go ahead and say so.
Gunnz |
Gunnz, hearing that Datch is interested in Arniselle, starts an A.
She might also jump over to I to see if there is information about the elf who tried to block our way out. Third choice would be "S" for Starfinders.
Conrad Castamir Kerbouchard |
"Aw man.... Guys I don't know about this."
Conrad takes a half-hearted flip through, but keeps looking back at the elevator: Culture: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Orrian Balnelis |
Orrian tries to make sense of the bookshelf.
"What would be most important..."
Culture: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Orrian does his best but is not an especially cultured person.
GM Bret |
Datch has a copy of every Starfinder report for Arniselle, along with cross references to the names of morlamaw Starfinder Agents and a language file for their language.
You also find a rather thick folder on AbadarCorp including cross-references to Iseki-Okaibo, Denanne Karrsi, Yalus, and several other people high in the AbadarCorp hierarchy.
Orrian realizes that any of these files provide enough information to be an acceptable offering in the temple.
Gunnz is still working on the second locked cabinet.
Zargothrax McDonald |
Zarg takes a peek at the information that Gunnz has withdrawn. "Ya know, I just got back from Arsinelle... ann I member the starfinders were lookin ta get some material from there as well. Try maybe lookin up C for clophirium"
Mysticism: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
And for the aid token...
Boost Attack Aid?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Gunnz |
"Maybe one of you take that to the statue and see if you get any boon from it?" suggests Gunnz.
Taking the advice of her team, she moves to C rather than I.
engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
GM Bret |
Gunnz opens another locked cabinet.
You find files on Celita, you can see where it was Historia-7 along with some digging into her early career.
There is also a file on clophirium, including some plans for how to manipulate the market. It does mention the results of the survey of Arniselle.
"Should have thought of using this as cheese for Starfinders." Datch comments, checking her chronometer.
Gunnz |
"Think we have time for another?" asks Gunnz, not wanting to get caught in the station self destruct.
Zargothrax McDonald |
Zargothrax eyes the 'Z' filing cabinet for 'Zigvigix.' After a moment's hesitation he shakes his head. "Prolly time ta scoot."
Zargothrax McDonald |
Scoot meaning bail out and get to the elevators.
GM Bret |
You go back to the lobby. Fortunately the elevator has already arrived so you all pile in, including Datch. "My, look how competent you’ve become. You should really be thanking me for pushing you in the right direction. Sure you don't want to stay for the big boom?"
You pile into your ship and escape the complex. Your take off is backlit by the exploding station.
You bring Datch to the Steward's ship and hand her over. They search her, finding several more apples and taking them away. Seems she really didn't have any weapons on her.
Zargothrax McDonald |
As the Stewards take custody of Datch, Zargothrax can't help but run his mouth. "Well... yer takeover failed, yer ships kablewi, yer buddies backstabbed ya... and now yer gonna be on prison food for a while. So how do ya like them apples?"

Days after their daring escape from Datch’s compound, the Starfinders return to Absalom Station to find the Lorespire Complex grounds completely deserted. Its chambers are silent except for the faint sounds of speech from a nearby hall.
Hundreds of diverse creatures fill the Hall of Discovery. Familiar faces appear among the masses as faction leaders, venture-captains, and friends of the Society gather around an illuminated platform. First Seeker Luwazi Elsebo’s magnified voice rings out over the audience’s excited murmurs. “Thus, it is with both sadness and pride that I step down as First Seeker. But before I can welcome my successor, Guidance has an announcement to make.”
A green holographic image of a human woman materializes beside Luwazi and addresses the room. “Greetings, Starfinders and esteemed allies. I have considered your nomination of Ehu Hadif Ko’ra Amares of Clan Tolar as First Seeker. I agree with your selection and have confirmed his elevation in my records. This is a day for celebration.” Guidance bows its head and dissipates.
The crowd erupts into thunderous applause as a kasatha clad in crimson armour strides onto the stage. He nods respectfully to Luwazi, who steps back to offer him her place at the centre of the platform. Ehu Hadif raises two of his hands and says, “Thank you for the warm welcome. I am honoured to accept the title of First Seeker, and all the responsibility that comes with it. First Seeker Elsebo has been our rock through countless hardships. Few First Seekers in our Society’s history has overseen so many successful struggles. Thanks to her, and the brave Starfinders who worked to outwit our foes, we now enter a time of peace. My goal during this time is to return our organization to its roots of discovery and exploration. My colleagues and friends, I invite you to once again turn your eyes to the distant stars. Together, I believe we can gather and preserve precious knowledge for the good of the universe.”
The Starfinder Society triumphed over Datch’s lies and schemes, and a new era of discovery under First Seeker Ehu Hadif is dawning.
Thank you GM’s for all of your hard work and effort to make this successful! And a special thanks to everyone joining the PbP Community during these trying times amid the Pandemic. Without you all this wonderful community would not be possible.
Zargothrax McDonald |
"Ahm a gonna be shore to send ya a whole bushel 'o apples from mah grandpappy's farm..."
He grins and looks over at his compatriots. "...road apples."
At the elevation ceremony Zargothrax hangs out with his friends from the last week. "Been awful lotta fun workin with all y'all. I shore hope ta see y'all again in the few-ture."
