Oh, gods DAMMIT!
Wolfgang sighs, steps over, and checks the door behind him for traps.
Perception, trapfinding: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 = 24
Assuming he doesn't detect any traps:
He opens the door and looks inside from the doorway, then turns to the others. "I think I'm going to have to jump for it, and I need a little more room for a running start."

Marcianus opened that door a LOOOONG time ago
Zelicia MacCallister |
Zelicia looks over the edge at Zeke on the ground with concern, then turns to glare at the structure across from the bridge where the voice came from. She steps back, making sure to give Wolf room to try to jump over the bridge.

Oh. Well, then, I guess Wolfgang's going to do this now. Sorry for the retcon! Keep your fingers crossed - he only has a 50/50 chance to make it.
Wolfgang jogs a few feet into the little room, then turns and picks up speed before leaping off the edge of the platform, arms and legs pinwheeling as he flies across the now-bridgeless gap towards the other side.
"Oh, shiiiiiiiiiii ---"
Acrobatics vs. DC 20?, long jump, 10-foot running start: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Wolfgang backs up for a running start and LEAPS across the lowered bridge, his feet landing solidly on the other side.
A single curse echoes from the nearby building as wolfgang sticks the landing. "That's not leaving!" shouts the voice again. "FINAL WARNING!"
To be clear, the controls for the bridge don't have an obvious crank outside of the building, though you can make a safe assumption at where the controls are based on the fact that whoever used them needed line of sight.
The miscreants hear the completely unmistakable sound of verbal components to a spell, this time from a more feminine voice. Wolfgang is able to pinpoint it to the building directly south of him.
One last OOC: I did the map wrong and have updated it as such. Treated a rope as a wall. My bad.

Zeke begins swearing, before glaring up toward Marcianus daring him to say something.
Standing up, he runs to the ladder and begins returning to the fray.
I assume that will count as two of the move actions.
Marcianus Jeggare |
Marcianus doesn't even bother to consider Zeke, instead being more concerned with Wolfgang's safety, seeing little way that he can assist.
Running over to Sicaria, he casts Guidance on her before suggesting, "Sounds like Wolfgang might need some help. There is a rope over there you might be able to shimmy across if the jump is too daunting. Though, perhaps cover fire is the better option."
Wolfgang von Erzteufel |
Sorry for the delay. This whole jumping across the gap thing seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I'm flummoxed - I'm not really sure what good Wolfgang can do here. He's probably going to end up getting himself almost killed, again.
Wolfgang moves stealthily up to the door and (assuming it's closed) cracks it open to peek inside.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Perception, darkvision: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Zelicia MacCallister |
Zelicia will turn to the rope that Mark pointed out and grimace, not thinking she could get over it. She will then turn back to Wolfgang across the bridge and pray he somehow restores it.
