Y = the number of YELLOW dice,
G = the number of GREEN dice,
U = the number of BLUE dice,
R = the number of RED dice,
P = the number of PURPLE dice,
B = the number of BLACK dice.
(If there are any WHITE dice, add them in after the BLUE in the same format.)
So 1.3.2+1.2.1 represents
1 YELLOW
3 GREEN
2 BLUE
versus
1 RED
2 PURPLE
1 BLACK.

UNDERGROUND: A Star Wars Crime Story
EPISODE 1

It has been five years since Chancellor PALPATINE transformed the Galactic Republic into the first Galactic Empire, proclaiming himself Emperor. However, for most ordinary people throughout the galaxy, little has changed.

Life is tough on the distant planets of the OUTER RIM. The Galactic Empire may rule these worlds politically, but it is the crime lords of the galactic underworld who truly wield the power. Nearly everyone living on AXXILA is somehow connected to one of the criminal syndicates vying for control of this wretched but criminally profitable world. The HUTT CLANS are the most well known of these organizations . . . .

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

The camera pans down to a world entirely spanned by a single city — an ecumenopolis. This is the city-planet Axxila, and it boasts one of the largest populations in the Outer Rim.

Cross-fade into a bustling and noisy cityscape. Night. Landspeeders zip past on narrow streets lined by decaying buildings. The dim streetlights cut meagerly through the ever-present smog.

In the distance, a group of speeder bikes rounds a corner at recklessly high velocity, their engines whining loudly. Sirens blaring, two landspeeders make the turn behind the bikers in hot pursuit, one of them scraping paint with a parked speeder. A third landspeeder follows but is unable to handle the tight corner and careens into a light pole, removing it from the chase.

One of the passengers in the lead landspeeder shouts to the man in the driver's seat, ”Get closer! You're losing them!” He takes aim with his blaster rifle over the windshield in his open-top sedan and bursts fire at the fleeing swoop-bike gang.

That is the situation. There are only two things I know about what is going on:
1. The guys chasing you are part of Planetary Security Corps (PlanSec, for short). They are the equivalent of city cops...for a planetwide city.
2. Whatever small-time “job” that your characters were doing tonight for Meeda the Hutt, you failed to do it. That means that PlanSec is the least of your problems.
You can fill in the rest through role-play and dialogue with each other during this encounter. I'll help one of you get started: begin with ”That didn't exactly go according to plan, now did it?” or something similar.

The landspeeders are currently at Medium range (personal scale) behind you. It is night time, and the city streets are lit somewhat poorly in this part of town. All checks requiring vision will add a ⬛ to the roll due to the darkness (of particular relevance: that includes Ranged attacks and Piloting [Planetary] checks; The Hornet and Ni'Kol may ignore this penalty). Everyone except Ni'Kol has a speeder bike with Handling +1; that means you get to add ⬜ to your Piloting (Planetary) checks. Fortunately, traffic is somewhat light, which is not unexpected at this time of night in this part of the city.

During this chase, the difficulty of Piloting [Planetary] checks will be equal to your speed (which can range between 1 and 3, but is currently at 2), and then upgrade the check once (because of Silhouette) and add a ⬛ to the roll (due to darkness). There is just enough traffic on the street to require a Piloting check each round, as a maneuver, just to maintain control of your vehicle. If you want to take multiple maneuvers or actions that require a Piloting check, roll them all into one check: use the highest difficulty, add 1 to that difficulty, then upgrade the dice appropriately.

There are two minion groups here: the gunners (4) and the drivers (2). The gunners have cover against ranged attacks (add ⬛ to the roll), and the drivers have improved cover (add ⬛⬛ to the roll).

This is a good time to roll initiative.

Initiative rolls:

Ildun De: Cool [1 1 0 0] = 11
Jorn Tallo: Cool [0 1 0 0] = 1
The Hornet: Cool [1 1 0 0] = 11
Ni'Kol Yazmin: Cool [0 0 0 0] = 0 <-- Eric's dice rolls perform just as well in electronic form as they do in meat-space. lol

NPC Gunners: Cool [2 0 0 0] = 20
NPC Drivers: Cool [1 0 0 0] = 10

Here is the initiative order:
N, p, p, n, p, p
(P or p = player characters; N or n = non-player characters)

The Gunners get to go first. Who do they attack?:

Random PC:

1d4 ⇒ 3
1d4 ⇒ 2

The gunners in the chase vehicles take aim and open fire on Jorn and Ni'Kol.

Maneuver: Aim
Action: Attack using Heavy Blaster Rifle set to auto-fire, aimed, medium range, darkness.
Dice: 3.0.1+0.3.1
Result: [–2 5 0 0] Miss with 5 Advantage.

Jorn and Ni'Kol both dodge blaster fire by veering onto the sidewalks. (Both will add ⬛ to their next Piloting (Planetary) checks.) One of the gunners shouts to his driver, ”Steady! Keep it steady so I can get a shot!”

See EotE Core Rulebook page 230 for more on what options are available to you during vehicle combat (but note that we will be using personal scale for this encounter instead of planetary scale).

After being forced onto the sidewalk, Jorn turns to Ni'Kol...

"Welp, that didn't work out as swimmingly as we'd hoped. Here goes nothing!"

Piloting Planetary: 0.4.1+1.0.2 [-2 6 0 0]

...Jorn attempts to slow down and merge back into traffic, but runs through a couple of public service boards in Aurebesh, one ironically admonishing against reckless driving. His speeder bike does an out of control 360 spin, and ends the spin at a 45 degree angle to the ground, causing Jorn to almost fall off his bike. Luckily, he's within jumping distance of the enemy speeder...

I'm going to use my 6 advantage by giving my next skill check a boost die, giving my opponent gunners a setback die, and giving a boost to the next skill performed by Ni'Kol

...Jorn leaps from his bike, now situated as a perfect springboard, onto the enemy speeder...

Athletics: 2.2.2(1 from last check, 1 from prehensile feet)+0.3.0 +1f = [-1 4 0 0] + 2 black pips. I'll turn my black pips into 2 successes (THIS COSTS A DESTINY POINT) and take 2 strain and 2 conflict to change my roll to [1 4 0 0]. I'll spend another 2 strain to make that a maneuver instead of an action.

...Jorn lands with a mighty crash, rocking the speeder and distracting the driver, as he attempts to figure out what the heck just happened while maintaining control of the sedan...

"You know...you boys weren't exactly invited to this shindig, and it's not particularly polite to crash a party."

...Jorn cracks his knuckles...

I'm using 2 advantage to cause a setback to driver's next Planetary Piloting check, and adding the other 2 advantage from the surprise of my landing, I'll boost my next attack. I attack with my fists Brawl: 1.3.1+0.2.0 = [3 1 0 0]. @GM Bobby That comes out to 7 total damage

...Jorn puts his fingers together and raises them in a giant double-handed fist, striking down at the gunners while holding on tightly with his prehensile feet. The blow rocks the speeder even more...

"NOT! POLITE! AT ALL!" Jorn roars.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

Excellent!

Jorn's speeder-bike spins and crashes through more signs before coming to rest on the sidewalk, a little beat up from the lasat's driving. A gotal shopkeep runs out and shouts after Jorn, wagging a finger, "HEY! YOU CAN'T PARK THAT HERE!"

The bike suffers 1 hull trauma.
Jorn suffers 11 wound points (so 6, after soak).

The PlanSec gunners are completely surprised by Jorn's athletic gambit, one of them reels from his attack."Ooof!

You didn't knock him out, though. They have Soak 4 and W Th 5, so he is badly wounded.

One more player is up! If you have questions, feel free to call me or send me a Facebook message. :)

"Well I suppose this is the best distraction that could be taken advantage of”

Piloting Planetary: 2.1.1+1.2.1 [0 -1 0 0] - Composite check

Ildun hits his breaks massively slowing down right in the path of the second speeder, making them swerve. He then hits the gas to maintain the same speed as the airspeeder.

Ranged - Light 1.2.0+0.1.1 [2 2 0 0] @GM Bobby that comes out to 10 damage

Using this advantage to activate the disorient 3 ability of the stun grenades

Ildun lobs a stun grenade set to detonate on impact into the center console of the airspeeder. On detonation the driver maintains speed but it's obvious that he is having a hard time concentrating as the airspeeder starts to list to the side a bit.

"Lets see how much you really care about these people you protect!"

Taking two strain to do an additional piloting maneuver. This composite maneuver was done in the first roll

Ildun’s swoop bike slams into the side of the speeder attempting to direct it at a nearby food cart. He unfortunately misjudged how much the stun grenade affected the pilot and the airspeeder not only didn’t move towards the food cart but pushed back against his swoop bike and caught on his foot throttle entangling the two vehicles together.

Well damn this is not looking very good for me...
He thinks as he looks over at the pilot that he can now almost touch.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

Ildun De's speeder bike becomes hooked on the side of one of the landspeeders as he tosses a grenade inside, disabling the driver. Meanwhile, the driver of the other landspeeder weaves through traffic as Jorn battles one of its gunners. ”These guys are crazy!”

While dodging other vehicles, the driver tries to shake Jorn off of his vehicle.

Maneuver: Piloting, difficulty 2 (Average).
Action: Evasive Maneuvers, difficulty 2 (Average)
I will use a Destiny point for this roll.
Dice: 1.2.0+0.3.2 (combining the difficulties for the Maneuver and the Action results in a difficulty of 3 [Hard], added a black from Ildun De).
Result: [-2 -3 1 0] Fail (with a Triumph!), and 3 threat.
I will use the 2 failures to have him rear-end a bystander landspeeder in front of him, dealing 2 hull damage to both vehicles. 2 of the threat will go toward assigning a black die to the gunners next skill check, the other 1 threat will cause 1 system strain of damage to the landspeeder. He will spend the Triumph to call in reinforcements. (Note: I didn't have the Triumph knock Jorn out of the speeder, because that was the goal the driver was trying to accomplish, which failed.)

He turns the wheel hard to the right but misjudges the distance to the civilian landspeeder in front of him. The two vehicles collide hard.

Just then, another PlanSec patrol speeder turns in from a side street, joining the chase with siren blaring! ”PS-33, this is PS-710,” a voice can be heard over the comms, ”We've got your position; it looks like you boys can use a hand.”

GM Screen (no peeking):

Drivers: 2 remains. 1 wound.
Gunners 1: 4 remain.
Gunners 2: 2 remain. 3 wounds. (in the speeder with Jorn) Add ⬛ to next roll.

I am splitting the Gunners into 2 minion groups: the two in the landspeeder with Jorn will be one group, the other four will be another group.

Raised to work in the Banking Clan, their nationalization by the Empire casts Tarlor into the Outer Rim for work.

This may be a little less involved than future posts, but I wanted to get the ball rolling. My initiative roll was a 22 [2 2 0 0].

"Great. Now PlanSec is here too. We really should have planned this gig a bit more. Next time we try to rob a chop-shop, let's make sure it's NOT under contract with PlanSec."

Tarlor Choh slows his speed to better navigate the traffic ahead, as well as to fall back alongside the speeder that isn't tangled up with Ildun.

Piloting roll: 0.2.1 + 0.1.1 = [0.1.0]

Unfortunately, he slowed a little bit too much and gets bumped by the speeder as he decelerates. Bobby, 1 damage?

Oops!

Tarlor levels his scatter-gun and takes begrudging aim at the gunners. He squeezes the trigger of his SX-21.

Ranged H: 0.2.1 + 0.1.2 (2 Ag, Aim, Short Range, Dark, Cover) = [3.-1.0] 13 damage to target, 1 strain to Tarlor

The blast hits home, slamming into the gunners. Tarlor slams backwards in his seat, unused to firing the weapon while driving.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

(Perfect. I'll add Tarlor to the top of the Initiative board starting next round.)

Tarlor's speeder scrapes against the side of the pursuing landspeeder, causing wear on some of the repulsorlift components.

His scattergun blast takes down the two gunners in the speeder with Jorn.

1.2.1+1.1.0 [6 -1 0 0]

I really don’t want to go back to Meeda empty handed

I quick draw my blaster pistol (incidental) and take aim and fire trying to take out the driver.

1.2.1+0.1.2 [0 3 0 0]

I miss my shot, but I’ve already setup for my next shot when it comes.

The thrill of the chase begins to wear off as the growing realization that failing Meeda could spell disaster in getting into their good graces.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

Ok, I haven't heard back from Jackson, and Eric is sorting out some connectivity issues, so we are going to move along and they can jump in when they get here. :)

I am going to add a small cutscene here, then I will summarize the action.

The landspeeders chase the speederbikes through the city at breakneck speeds, weaving in and out of traffic and ramming one another. Both factions trade gunfire. As they round a corner onto a long straightaway, the swoop-bike gang can see another landspeeder up ahead, set up as a roadblock.

One of the armed men in the landspeeder attached to Ildun De's speeder-bike jumps into the driver's seat of his vehicle and tries to regain control.

A quick OOC recap (read):

There are 4 landspeeders.
The first has a driver and no gunners, but also has Jorn Tallo acting menacingly (whose bike is parked back down the road).

The second had 2 gunners but no driver, thanks to Ildun De, whose speeder bike is now unfortunately hooked on said second landspeeder. One of those gunners has become a driver.

The third and fourth are new landspeeders to the chase, and each has 1 driver and 2 gunners.

Drivers 4, 1 wound (it doesn't matter which one)
Gunners 5

I should have mentioned: The roadblock ahead is at extreme range from everyone at the start of the round, but you are getting closer to it. On your turn you can also give a Perception check as an incidental. The difficulty is Average (2), and remember to add ⬛ due to darkness. If you succeed, you can look at the spoiler below.

Average Perception:
There are some side streets along this block. You can turn down a side street by taking an additional maneuver to perform a Piloting (Planetary) check. This increases the difficulty of the mandatory check by 1.

Trying to stay calm I shout-
“We may want to get off this street! They’ve setup a roadblock ahead!”
We failed, why are they so concerned in catching us when all we did was break into a chop shop? What are we missing?

Yes, give me a mechanics check to make your bike smoke. You can decide the difficulty. Personally, I usually go with the rule of thumb that if it something that I think I could accomplish, then I give it an Average difficulty, then go up or down from there.

Yep. :) 2 system strain to your bike sounds perfect.

Ni'Kol and Tarlor follow Jorn and Ildun De down the alleyway, Tarlor coughing on Ni'Kol's smoke screen a bit. Meanwhile, Ven continues down the main street looking for a way to avoid the approaching roadblock. (The roadblock is now at Long range. After Ven's turn, it will be at Medium range from him — unless he changes his speed: at speed 0 it stays Long; at speed 1, Medium; and at speed 2, Short.)

Recap if you need it:
Everyone made the turn except Ven. Maybe he will find an alternate route.

There are still 3 landspeeders, each with 1 driver (one of the drivers has 2 wounds).
There are 5 gunners remaining.

Everyone except Ven is in a smoke screen. Add ⬛ for sight-based checks, including Perception, Piloting, and Ranged attacks. This is in addition to the ⬛ for darkness. (Ni'Kol can still ignore this penalty, but Ven, if he catches up to the group, will not ignore the penalty for the smoke.) The good news is that attacks made against those in the smoke screen will suffer the same penalty.

"Ven! VEN! Blast it all, he's missed the turn. Hang on here gang, I've got an idea. Sure, my pal Narg Vli said that the 'Rusty Rider' would be closed, easy to raid, and unaffiliated with any local gangs or police stations and none of that was true. Sure, he gives Weequays everywhere a bad name for lying all the time. But if that rival chop shop had been easy to loot we would have gotten some nice parts to resell. And I know precisely how he's going to repay us."

I am spending a destiny point to make this contact currently available to communicate with. GM, feel free to upgrade to two points if needed.

Tarlor reaches up to his comlink and signals to Narg. "Narg, come in you two-timing liar... No, I am not in a good mood! The 'Rusty Rider' was open when we got there. And they were under security contract with PlanSec!... Yes yes, I know 'tips aren't guaranteed to be accurate' but this was especially inaccurate. I'm almost ready to stop doing business with you. When Uncle Sed said he needed us to do a job and get some parts, I came to you for help... I appreciate you being sorry. In fact, I have an idea on how you can make it up to me."

Piloting Check: 0.2.0 + 0.1.1 = [0.-1.0.0]. I am going to take this as personal strain.

Tarlor accidentally smashes through some garbage cans as he's talking, being a little absorbed in the conversation proving counter-productive to safe driving.

"I need you to call in some major crime to PlanSec. Near the 'Rusty Rider.'... Yeah, precisely. I'm hoping these cops get called off to deal with that.

Charm Check: 1.2.0 + 0.2.0 = [2.-1.0.0]. I spent an additional destiny point to upgrade my check. I used Charm because I'm trying to convince him to help us out since his tip was bad. I used a pirate crew as the statline. Taking an additional strain as I run into some clothes hanging across the alleyway. Also, I am using this as my action for the turn, since it's been a rather lengthy conversation that strains the expression "talking is a free action." GM, I want to have this successful check distract or delay our pursuers, although I'll leave precisely what up to you.

"Thanks Narg... Yeah, this squares us."

Tarlor smiles a little as he continues down the alley, hoping some of their pursuers get called off.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

I love it. @Tarlor the only change I will make is that the strain will be system strain to your bike.

The weequay Narg Vli grumbles into his comlink, "Never did like you much, Tarlor, and it wouldn't break my heart to see you pinched. But Uncle Sed might break my nose, and we can't have that — it's my best feature. Yeah, I'll try to get these PlanSecs off your back, hold on."

A moment later, Narg comes back onto the comms, "See if that does the trick."

I'm going to have Narg roll a Deception check against PlanSec dispatch. Difficulty will be Hard, upgraded once, but Narg is pretty good at Deception.

Deception: 2.1.0+1.2.0 --> [-1 -1 0 0]. sad Narg.

Cut to one of the PlanSec landspeeders.

A dispatcher's voice crackles over the comms in the landspeeder. "Attention all units! We just received a false report of a 13-97 at the Citadel. Maintain pursuit. We believe the suspects may be involved."

The driver steels his eyes on the fleeing Nato, his resolve redoubled with this new report from dispatch.

The drivers are going to try to make ground on Nato. This will be a Hard Piloting check.
Piloting (Planetary): 2.1.0+2.1.1 --> [4 -1 1 1]. Yikes! This is a lot to interpret.

The two landspeeders in hot pursuit of Nato deftly close the gap on their quarry, and they get close enough for one of them to get a read on the ID Code on Nato's bike. (From the triumph.) The landspeeders were not designed for such high speeds and sharp cornering, however, and small puffs of gray smoke begin to emerge from the engines intermittently. (The threat will cause 1 system strain to all of the landspeeders.)

@Nato: you may decide how to spend the 1 hanging despair remaining on the drivers' Piloting check. Everyone else is free to offer suggestions in the Discussion tab, if you want.

Jorn, who is currently ahead of the rest of the group, speaks over the coms to his pals...

"Nato, hold in there. I've got an idea for how to lose this group. I'll need to hitch a ride, Ildun!"

Planetary Piloting: 0.4.0+1.2.1 [1 0 0 0]

Jorn pulls off, grinding to a halt and turns his stolen speeder, already worse for the wear and hops off, revving the throttle with the parking break on. He waits for his pals to get clear of his target, and then flicks off the parking break, letting it speed as fast as it will go through the narrow alleyway at the oncoming PlanSec pursuers.

Athletics (with force enhancement): 2.2.0+0.4.0 [1 1 0 0 and one black pip] I don't need to spend my force die, and would like to give my advantage towards Ildun's next piloting check.

Jorn leaps onto the back of Ildun's speeder as he goes by, hugging him round the waist.

Jorn sends the unmanned landspeeder careening down the alleyway back toward the pursuing PlanSec officers. The speeder exits the alleyway right in front of the other landspeeders, crashes, and explodes, blocking further pursuit, and forcing PlanSec to call off their chase.

The swoop bike gang rides off down the alley and sidestreets into the night.

Hey hun can I get some hot sauce for my food. Thank you kindly.

After the waitress walks away Ildun speaks to the rest of the group.
Well that went exactly opposite of what we had planned. I for one think someone set us up and I wouldn’t put it past the Hutts to keep us reliant on them.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

The door to the diner opens and two men enter, a Twi'lek dressed in a cheap black suit and a Weequay in street clothes. The gang recognizes these two as “Uncle” Sed and Narg Vli.

They approach the booth and push their way in without being invited to sit down. Narg grins widely and opens his arms, ”Tarlor! My friend! So glad to see you made it!”

Sed picks up a piece of toast off of Jorn's plate, takes a bite, and puts the rest back in front of the Lasat without a word. He then takes a drink from Ildun's cup of caf, and picks up the Duros's unopened napkin from the table and dabs his mouth with it.

The waitress, a Wroonian, comes to the table with a fresh pot of caf. ”What'll ya' have?” she asks Sed and Narg.

Narg starts to raise his hand, but before he can speak, Sed smiles at the waitress and replies, ”Thank you...” he pauses to look at her nametag, ”Aleez. We're not staying long. But my friend Ildun here could use some more caf.” He gestures at Ildun's half-empty mug.

When Aleez is finished topping off caf for anyone who wants it, Sed finally addresses the group. ”Well, boys? Meeda isn't happy. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you he isn't happy. You know he isn't happy. When Meeda isn't happy, I'm not happy. So... tell me what went wrong?” He takes another drink from Ildun's cup.

Once he has heard the report from the gang regarding last night's mission, he waits a moment before speaking again to the group. (You can add your own dialogue here, but I'm moving on, just to keep the game rolling.)

”Meeda is still pretty burned about last night, but I have convinced him to allow you to make it up to us, and maybe solve Nato's ID plate problem in the process...”

He pauses.

“This is where you all say, 'Thank you, Uncle Sed!'”

(Sed waits for your thanks before continuing.)

”PlanSec has never had a reliable database that could keep up with the bureaucracy of a city-planet this size. That is why they have asked the Empire for help. As you probably know, The bucket-heads are almost finished erecting that outpost on the edge of the city, but it isn't yet operational. They have in there some equipment that would be incredibly useful to our long-term business plans, and we would like you, as valued members of our acquisitions department to make that happen."

"Coincidentally, PlanSec's database has already been partially ported over to the garrison's computer core. Our hope is that you can data-spike the computer core to download some... profitable... information. Oh, and if you happen to delete Nato's unfortunate ID plate scan from last night, that is fine too.”

Sed takes another bite of Jorn's toast, then finishes Ildun's cup of caf.

”There are three things we need from the outpost. The first is the scan of the database. Here is a data spike you can use for the job.” He places the spike on the table, covered in a napkin.

”Second, they have an armory that got shipped in just last night. It's enough blaster carbines and light repeaters to outfit the whole garrison, but most of the stormtroopers haven't yet been stationed. We want those guns.”

Third, there are four T-44 landspeeders in their motor pool, still with that new speeder smell. Not only can we give these to our materials and distribution divisions for a small profit, those vehicles will prove convenient to you in transporting the crates of small arms to your usual contact within those divisions.” Narg grins at being referenced in this conversation.

“Your cut of the take will be 10% of the weapons you recover, one of the four landspeeders, and, as usual, any ancillary profits you are able to make independently while on the job. In addition, I have negotiated with Meeda to get you 100 credits each in Sabaac chips once the job is complete, barring any complications.”

“I assume I don't need to remind you what is on the line if you fail us.”

“Any questions?”

I walk into the diner late, ignore my group and go up to the waitress Aleez and order a caf and sam to go.

I ask Aleez, “So what have I missed? They’re not being too creepy I hope?” She responds, “No more than usual, well, exept for the guy with Uncle Sed, he’s got some poodoo on his boots.” I give her a lopsided smirk and turn with caf in hand and head over to the group.

“I don’t want to interrupt what we have going on,” looking to my crew, ”I’ll catch you up after this."
Looking back at Uncle Sed with a very fake grin, "Hey Uncle Sed! What have I missed? I’m guessing a job that will barely cover our collective housing fees?”

I do a streetwise check to see if the 10% is a fair deal, I don’t have the prescense to even try to negotiate a better deal. Maybe someone else could try getting us a better rate?

1.2.0 + 1.1.1 [1 0 0 0]

Dropping the grin, “Now come on Sed, we know that deal is hardly fair…” trailing off and looking to my group, hoping someone will step up to try and negotiate?

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

Actually, it is a very generous deal. But that doesn't mean someone can't try to negotiate higher.

Uncle Sed replies to Ni'Kol, "You get 10% of the take on the small arms. That payment plus the fourth speeder should be more than enough for what the data is worth. The 100 credits in chips is a bonus, should everything go smoothly. Catch my drift?"

He turns to Narg, "Hey Narg, do you smell something? This place stinks . Let's get outta here." Addressing the gang again, "Any other questions, boys?"

== Imperial Outpost, Exterior. Night. (I can change this if you want to do this in the daytime.) ==

The outpost is a standard Imperial forward operating base. It is a pre-fabricated construction in the Brutalist style favored by the Empire. The buildings and all of the exterior walls have been assembled. The communications tower, however, has not yet been completed.

The layout consists of a main building, an attached garage and motor pool, several dormitories and outbuildings forming a courtyard, and small shuttle pad surrounded by high metal walls.

The TIE Fighter pads have not been installed.

The main gate is guarded by three stormtroopers and camera systems — it is unknown if those systems are operational. The row of four exterior doors to the garage and motor pool are on another side of the complex, and are likewise guarded by a patrol of three stormtroopers and camera systems.

I will leave it up to you guys to figure out where to go from here. Once someone proposes a course of action and another person "seconds" that proposal, that is what we will go with, just to keep the game moving forward.

"Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla and Bogan. The light and the dark. I'm the one in the middle. The Bendu."

lighting conditions and other concerns:

The interior of the outpost is well lit with flood lights. There are also flood lights along the exterior pointing outward. While at Medium range or farther from the outpost, add ⬛ to vision-based checks made against targets that are closer to the base than you. Once you are within Short range of the base, these penalties go away.

Add ⬛ to any Stealth checks made within Short range of the base.

Remember that you can make a collective Stealth check. It looks like the highest Stealth in the party is Ni'Kol's 2 ranks, and the lowest Agility is Tarlor's 2 ranks. So, for a group check that includes these two, you would roll 2 yellow dice.

The difficulty of Stealth checks against the stormtroopers is Average.
